Lovely stay at Sakala! Friendly staff and good experience.

We had a lovely 10 night stay at Sakala Resort. Our room was spacious, clean and had a lovely view of the pool area. The lobby area was a nice place to chill especially in the evening with the lovely breeze and warm ambiance.

We had a lovely 10 night stay at Sakala Resort. Our room was spacious, clean and had a lovely view of the pool area. The lobby area was a nice place to chill especially in the evening with the lovely breeze and warm ambiance.
The positives include the staff being extremely friendly and attentive especially during the breakfast area. The breakfast buffet had variety where there was Indonesian and Western dishes to enjoy. The dessert and pastry stations were definitely a hit!
A special shoutout to Demy who provided an exceptional service with his warm greetings and always went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed and very interactive! A big thanks to Evan for the great service and being ever so responsive to our requests and responding to our messages.
The sunrise view is magnificent from the beach area so went often to watch the sunrise around 6.35am and then breakfast at 7am. There is a brilliant restaurant walking distance from the hotel, Barong Tei where you can get 10% discount from staying at the hotel. We went for dinner.
A few negatives are that the gym is not 24/7 access as advertised on the website (timings are: 6am to 10pm) and the weekly activity schedule was outdated and again not as advertised as the website. Disappointing as we had prepared our itinerary around the website information and we were not able to do activities such as the Bonfire Movie night and Balinese Vaganza, which we were looking forward to.
Furthermore, we were given a shuttle bus timetable from Reception staff and when we were at the front lobby area for a particular timed bus service, we were informed the timetable is different for the day and not in line with the timings we were provided. We had to take a Grab to Bali collection instead as the next service was nearly 2 hours later.
The beach club/area is situated across a main road but there are hotel security to manage the road traffic when you want to cross.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but would say that Sakala has some improvements to make.

Our stay at the Sakala Resort Bali was fantastic. We had a thoroughly good time here! Our room had a pool view and we really liked all the facilities that the room had to offer, including an electric cooker. The morning breakfasts had a variety of east and western foods
Our stay at the Sakala Resort Bali was fantastic. We had a thoroughly good time here! Our room had a pool view and we really liked all the facilities that the room had to offer, including an electric cooker. The morning breakfasts had a variety of east and western foods available and as a Muslim couple, the food was all halal. All non- halal items are clearly marked which gave us the peace of mind. The lobby area is very nice and has a relaxing vibe. A big shout out to Demmy for making my wife’s birthday breakfast so special and going above and beyond to cater to our needs. 10/10 service from Demmy, he had a lot of character and was very memorable :). All staff had good customer service skills and were very friendly here.
A few room for improvement would be to update their website. It states the gym is opened 24/7, but in fact is closed at 10pm daily. When we booked our hotel stay, we thought we were staying in Nusa Dua, but you are staying in Tanjung Benoa and the beaches are not very nice here. You have to take a shuttle bus to Bali Collection and then walk to the pristine Nusa Dua beaches. Also, the weekly activities such as movie bonfire night are not available anymore

Needs a few repairs and upgrades

This is more of a 4 star hotel as it is in need of some upgrades and repairs. Note they did seem to be doing some repairs to the main pool area when we were there. Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. We had our own pool which was
This is more of a 4 star hotel as it is in need of some upgrades and repairs. Note they did seem to be doing some repairs to the main pool area when we were there. Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. We had our own pool which was great some tiles loose but nothing major. Our villa overlooked the main road which we didn’t mind but if we had to book again we would book on the other side instead. Rooms decent size beds really comfy. Barely had any hot water they tried to fix it but never really worked. POD coffee machine nice touch but all the pods were decaf! Thought their other private beach (short 10min bus ride away) was decent and well worth it. Hotel is roughly 40 mins away from waterbom and 30 mins from the Koral restaurant. We would recommend that restaurant during your stay which is in the The Apurva Kempinski hotel. It’s pricey but just an amazing experience.
