We stayed in December and the hotel was very quiet. We had a double room which was small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom is open plan which we were not a fan of. The shower didn't even have frosted glass and the toilet door was sliding and did not close fully. The heating worked well. The room was at the front of the hotel and quite noisy. Our other family members had a twin accessible room which was understandably much larger.
Breakfast was very basic.
The reception staff were super helpful and made us feel very welcome.
The metro is a 5 minute walk away and the bus stop slightly further away.
About 20 mins into town by taxi.
I probably wouldn't stay again and would book somewhere more central.

This was a great stay, chose as not as expensive as other hotels in Rome. 5 minutes walk from metro and that area had restaurant and a supermarket. Excellent service, and assisted me with laundry and were helpful when I asked about staying for longer. Rooms were fine . I Love the location of this hotel, it’s convenient to the train station. Hotel looked inviting as soon as I walked in. Check in was easy and receptionis was nice and friendly. They had a good amount of selections and Coffee machine. One part that made us look forward for breakfast was the special lady who took an excellent care of us. Her name is Mrs. Benzel and she made delicious Cappucino!!. She made us felt welcome, comfortable and it felt as if we’ve known he for a long time. Thank you Mrs.Benzel for taking care of us during our stay. We will definetly come back and look for you again. She is such an asset for this hotel.

Just stayed here for 2 nights, perfectly met our needs.
Toilet has sliding doors, no doors to separate from main room, but that's the only thing we weren't keen on.
If you want the air con, ask at the desk. It was no problem for them to turn it on.

Over all this is a great hotel and I would stay here again, but I didn’t think the breakfast was very good. The eggs were awful and were nearly room temperature. The cheeses were fine but, the pastries tasted like they were made in a large commercial bakery. Room temperature milk on cereal is gross in my opinion. They had a nice juice selection.
Our room was on the same floor as the breakfast area and I was worried about noise in the morning, but I was happy see the door separating the dining area from the hallway was closed. That’s why I wasn’t awoken early by the clattering of the dishes. I appreciate the attention to important details.
Our room was on the first or second floor facing the roadway, but there was a large tree between us and the street that muffled the noise. We had the windows open quite a bit while we were in the room and while there was some noise, when we closed the window the noise was silenced.
My favorite part of our stay was the easy access to the terrace just outside the breakfast room. It was quiet and a nice way to wind down after a busy day sight seeing.
The hotel is close to the metro station, and seemed closer in the morning than in evening after a long day on our feet when it felt a little longer. Still, it was nice to stay in a less touristy area. We arrived via the metro and the walk with bags wasn’t bad. We actually exited on the opposite side of the station and that made the walk a little longer. There is a self service laundry mat nearby, which was much needed since we were on a long trip.
The most important part is that the room was clean, comfortable, and modern, although the toilet wasn’t very efficient at flushing and wasted water since it always required a couple flushes. Poor design, not a maintenance issue.
Some of the exterior photos don’t do it justice.
I would certainly stay here again.

Hotel staff members we encountered had hospitable personalities and acted with care and kindness, and this is from the reception desk clerk to the housekeepers.
The bed slept great, was comfortable, and so were the pillows and sheets were clean
There was a tub/shower combo in our bathroom and a bidet with the
Things we didn't care for: The carpet in our room, a bit musty
The TV was extremely small (but also, we weren't there to watch TV much anyway).
The smell in the lobby that sometimes caught you off guard.
Overall experience: Good because there were many more positives than negatives. The friendliness of the staff, the delicious food, and the central location make this a pleasant and sensible choice for anyone.
You do leave your room key with the desk clerk anytime you leave the hotel, but that wasn't a big deal. In fact, it was easy to do because you don't have to worry about keeping up with it and the front desk is staffed 24/7 so they are happy to accept the key and give it back on your return...even if it's frequently. It is an actual key, not a card. There is also a small elevator, so no dragging your bags up and down stairs.
We would stay here again.

The Hotel Botticelli is probably the most ideal location to quickly get to all the Must-See sights in old Florence (as well as the train/bus station). It's tucked away a few blocks so it's quieter than the hotels on the major piazzas.

The staff were all super-friendly and helpful. Making a little effort with basic Italian phrases went a long way for us. We got an excellent restaurant recommendation and they helped us get a taxi at 4am.
The breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious (we ate it six times).
The rooms are clean and comfortable. But keep in mind that the room and bathroom is going to be much smaller than a US hotel (unless you book an upgraded/larger room). Housekeeping refreshed everything each day.

A very well run and warm hotel which suited us perfectly across New Year.
I found the pillows very thin, but there were more in the cupboard.
It is close to St Mark’s, and to the firework area by the Grand Canal. .

Just back from a 4 night stay at Hotel Kette. Fabulous hotel in a great location. Staff are very helpful and even arranged our transfer from the airport when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Venice - It is perfectly located within the San Marco area with some lovely restaurants very close by. Vino Vino was the perfect place for our evening meal on the day we arrived. If I am fortunate enough to return to Venice again I will definitely stay at Hotel kette.

We spent one evening in the neighbourhood around the hotel which also had a good choice of busy restaurants & bars which were more reasonably priced than the main square.
The hotel is nicely decorated & very clean. Our room was compact but modern with a nice bathroom. It was also very dark & very quiet, so a good nights sleep. Our friend’s room was on a different floor & was a bit bigger but more dated. They also had an issue with their toilet not working. Staff were friendly & helpful & the receptionist was able to give us some restaurant recommendations to accommodate my friend who is gluten-free.

We stayed here 8 nights in September and used it as our day trips out of Milan and touring in Milan. Staff straightened and cleaned room every day. Room not large but comfortable for 2. Bedding was very cozy.

This is an excellent hotel with a good location. Metro just few blocks away, just 3 stops from Duomo. To railway station just a 12 minute walk. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We got the room at noon when we arrived which was a nice surprise.

Nice hotel, room was very good and spacious. Spa area was very welcoming in the cold weather. Very convenient for the town and facilities all good. Breakfast buffet excellent.

We did have a bit of an issue with reception one evening, my husband had hurt his foot and was unable to walk so I asked if we could have a table in the restaurant as we couldn’t go out. I was told that the restaurant was fully booked and that the only option was room service, not great! However the bar and restaurant management sorted it out for us when we approached them. I think the receptionist could have been more helpful. Food and service in the bar and restaurant were great.

Hotel has a very nice spa and mild temperature thermal waters so it makes it nice for families as well especially since they have a separate kiddie pool that can be accessed from some of the garden terrace suites. I like the concept they had for dinner for a appetizer buffet, salad buffet and first and second course plates and a desert buffet. All priced separately if you don't do the Half board stay rate which gives choices everyones appetite. I will mention that the 1st and 2nd course dishes are served gourmet style. This tip is for my American friends, don't be surprised when in the spa people drop all their clothes to shower and enter steam and saunas. This is a true European spa and has everything from massages and thermal waters to proper sauna and steam rooms.

We stayed in the Aqualux for the final part of our honeymoon. After visiting Rome and Florence, we wanted somewhere to relax in luxury and the hotel did not disappoint.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with welcome drinks and the reception staff (who incredibly were all fluent in Italian, German and English) could not do enough to help us.
We took the elevator to our room. From the reception elevator there was quite a walk to our room. However, for the rest of the trip, we used a different lift which took us incredibly close to the bar, pool and restaurant. When we got to our room, we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The room was spotless and had a giant circular bed. In the room, there was plenty of space and a good sized balcony. We had a distant view of the lake and a closer view of the car pack which didn’t bother us one bit.
In the mornings, we went down to breakfast which was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. It had all of the regular hotel breakfast options but also had waffle machines, fresh omelettes and juicers for you to make your own juice. Prosecco was available for free at breakfast each day.
The pools are spotlessly clean and gorgeous to relax in. We particularly enjoyed the lazy river which is inside one of the main outdoor pools. Inside pools are great too. I would recommend reserving loungers using your towel before breakfast if you want a particular spot. However, they didn’t all go too quickly - much better than some places we’ve been.
Rooms were all cleaned daily and were left in immaculate condition.
Around the pool, there is an aqua class at 11am every day which is quite loud but it only lasts for around 30 mins. During this time, I couldn’t focus to read a book but used it as time to relax in a different pool. After it was over, it was calm and quiet again.
Random extra notes:
Towels and complimentary robes are great quality and smell incredibly clean.
All rooms come with a beach bag for you to pop your bits in to take to the pool which was very handy.
The hotel is less than 10 mins (very easy walk) to the lake where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to eat or drink at. We particularly enjoyed Cafe Italia which is on the lake front and served very high quality food.
I requested a late check out because we were going to the airport at 1pm. This wasn’t available as it was booked out again. However, the reception staff let us stay in our room until 12 (should have been 11am) for no extra charge. We were then allowed to use the facilities for free for the next hour until our taxi arrived.
Overall, this is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in and we would recommended it to anyone.

We have mixed feelings about this hotel. It has the potential to be quite good but seems to have an identity crisis. It’s advertised as a spa hotel and it does have some lovely facilities but it’s ALL open to children all day. I’ve never known a spa to beWe have mixed feelings about this hotel. It has the potential to be quite good but seems to have an identity crisis. It’s advertised as a spa hotel and it does have some lovely facilities but it’s ALL open to children all day. I’ve never known a spa to be run this way. At the very least it should be an aged 14 plus hotel so the serenity isn’t disturbed by crying babies or shrieking children especially as more and more were bringing in small inflatables into the pools that aren’t actually that big, despite there being a sign that they aren’t allowed. At times it’s a lovely peaceful area until the aerobics disturbed the peace with thumping music at 11 everyday and the pool bar also occasionally has loud music depending on who was working. Again not expected in a spa.
The gardens are immaculate, and there are plenty of sunloungers that thankfully aren’t reserved early on in the morning! Although they are placed in close rows so doesn’t feel too spread out in some places. It also got busy fri/sat/sun when it looked like day guests were using facilities so it became too busy then.
The bedrooms are nice and the daily clean was very good. Although disappointing that basics such as water are charged at 3.50 per small bottle. I would expect a couple of large bottles included each day within the price of the stay. Also tea and coffee wasn’t ever replenished.
Sadly what really lets this place down is the food. It’s very poor. Bland and tasteless so we decided to eat out most evenings despite being half board. So would definitely opt for bed and breakfast given the choice. Staff seemed friendly but service wasn’t great, no drinks offered throughout the meal or cutlery replaced at breakfast for example. We always seemed to be taking clean cutlery off of other made up tables or trying to catch someone’s attention to order drinks. The vegetarian options were so limited. Usually only one option at dinner and it was never nice sadly. The cooked breakfast was quite limited too. Bacon ran out one day completely. Pancakes were also always running out so we couldn’t have them for at least half of our stay. Just all seemed a bit disorganised.
So the hotel does have potential and is in a good location just a short walk from the town but we aren’t sure if it’s enough to entice us back although we will definitely be returning to lake Garda as it’s beautiful.

Great location, less than 5 minutes walk to the town.
Large room, plenty storage space and room for the empty suitcases. Large bed, very comfy, dark curtains.
Fabulous breakfast with enormous choice (including juicers!) with fresh omelettes.
Dinner was also excellent, great choices, good amount and fantastic cakes.
Pools and spa also excellent,Great location, less than 5 minutes walk to the town.

Amazing hotel and amazing restaurant on Lake Como!

We had a wonderful time at the Metropole Suisse hotel on Lake Como. We have stayed before at this hotel, but they now have renovated rooms and for our family, the location of this hotel was excellent. The problem with European hotels ( except for well known Global hotels ) they are not Globally standard. A four star European unbranded hotel are definitely unequal to a branded 4 star Global Hotel. This hotel had soap that was the size and shape of an After Eight chocolate mint by Nestle, so small. Minute toiletries, everything was “Hobbit size.) There was a very very small fridge, there was no kettle or supplies of tea/coffee. The rooms were clean. Italian hoteliers seem to think that guests love Old Classic hotels. We do….. but they should be updated for modern day comfort. This hotel was not, and it doesn’t meet 4 star standards. Don’t even think of using their parking. It’s a joke, and dangerous when trying to leave and merge into traffic. Breakfast was Blah, staff stood 2 feet from me trying to figure out how to use their toaster. We never had a tea or coffee that was hot, the water was always barely warm. Stick to well known hotels.

PROS-,What a wonderful place to be. Went On a tour with Gate 1 travel. I wandered down looking for coffee at 4:30am. None available until 7am. I always travel with instant coffee & halfnhalf liquid singles so I was very happy relaxing in the lobby with my early morning coffee!
Our hotel dinner was an amazing salad, risotto & a fabulous chocolate dessert.
Breakfast was great. Lots of different food choices. Scrambled & boiled eggs. Bacon( not crispy) but several pastries, yogurt, fruit, breads, cereals, greens, etc.
The room was very cute & special. My roommate & I enjoyed our comfortable twin beds. Everything was very clean. We didn't understand what the bidet was & the sweet patient front desk man was explaining how it it works.
The setting of the hotel was fantastic & everything felt safe in the surroundings. It's across the street from the lake & around the corner from an ornate church, open square & excellent gelato.
CONS- The towels were very rough & there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. No wash clothes. One room key for 2 roommates was very inconvenient.

Another 3 star hotel masquerading as 4 star which makes us incredibly suspicious of the Italian hotel rating system.
The hotel is in a excellent location close to the Lake & Como ferry terminal which is its main (some might so only) feature. The front desk staff were mostly helpful &Another 3 star hotel masquerading as 4 star which makes us incredibly suspicious of the Italian hotel rating system.
The hotel is in a excellent location close to the Lake & Como ferry terminal which is its main (some might so only) feature. The front desk staff were mostly helpful & pleasant, provided useful information about local attractions & were able to assist with restaurant & taxi bookings. However couples are given only one key to
the room that is expected to be handed-back every time you leave. Too bad if one goes out & one of you is asleep in the room with the key!
The reception area itself was more like a hostale than any hotel, closing the front door with shutters after midnight (seriously) so that you had to buzz the receptionist who peered out through a stencil shaped peephole in the shutters before letting you in.
The bathroom in our room had been recently renovated, however the water pressure was poor, the shower nozzle was cheap & either rained like a firehose from the centre or dribbled. And amazingly in spite of what looked like a recent renovation, there was nowhere in the shower to place soap or shampoo except on the floor.
The room self was a reasonable size with a view across the adjacent square & a king bed. However the decor was incredibly dated (think bubbling wallpaper, including on the timber wardrobe doors!) & the TV was archaic with buzzing audio which made it unwatchable. Additionally there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the toom & the bath towels provided were made of seersucker instead of towelling, i.e. exactly the same material as teatowels. Fine if you’re planning on rinsing a dinner-set, but not so comfortable for humans.
The breakfast was OK, but nothing exceptional. The coffee machine delivered truly awful coffee, however as we discovered on our second morning, the somewhat disorganised breakfast servers (if requested, this isn’t offered as it should be in 4 star hotel) would arrange somewhat better coffee on request from the kitchen.
On a further note there is currently significant construction work occurring on the waterfront immediately in front of the hotel which obstructs views of Lake Como from the restaurant/breakfast room. Not the hotel’s fault certainly, however something that you might wish to consider if you are planning to book this hotel because It’s views.

We walked in with no reservations, and the front desk was extremely helpful. They made sure to give us a tour of the room to make sure it was acceptable before we accepted the room. We got lucky and had a beautiful large room with a nice deep tub and full remodel facing lake, como. They booked a private boat for us and they have on site parking. Overall, we highly recommend this unique stay at Lake Como.

This little Hotel is wonderfully positioned in the main square of charming Gubbio. Clean and comfortable. Very good value. The cappuccino is good as is the rest of the breakfast spread. We really enjoyed our stay here. Gubbio is a special place and the hotel provided a memorable sunset on the 2nd floor gardens. Their little dog also provided much entertainment as he’d push his ball to me for play. Great spot for our Canadian tour group.We really enjoyed our stay here. Charming hotel with beautiful views of the medieval town of Gubbio!

My husband and I stayed for two nights in a Junior Suite with a balcony while on our 3 week tour of Italy. This hotel has loads of charm and breathtaking views of the medieval city! This hotel has loads of charm and breathtaking views of the medieval city! The staff was super friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat and spots to visit. Don’t miss the funicular! The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The garden bar/restaurant is a great spot to kick back with an aperol spritz (or whatever) and relax! The town of Gubbio is beautiful and a fun escape from the usual summertime tourist madness of the more popular spots in Italy. If you’re planning a trip to Umbria, don’t overlook Gubbio and this lovely boutique hotel!
