Great choice for a short city break

I have been to Zagreb countless times, and in most cases I was not satisfied with the accommodation. I have stayed both in private apartments and in hotels; for a capital city of this size, the offer of hotels is quite weak (I am not talking about any luxury, butI have been to Zagreb countless times, and in most cases I was not satisfied with the accommodation. I have stayed both in private apartments and in hotels; for a capital city of this size, the offer of hotels is quite weak (I am not talking about any luxury, but about the simple fact that in a large number of hotels, the value you get does not match the price, nor the name and the logo carried by the hotel).
I heard about Hotel international only recently and I am using their services for the first time in December 2024. We stayed only one night, to split the journey from Italy but also to visit Zagreb Advent. The location is excellent, because you need less than half an hour of easy walking to the central square of Ban Jelačić.
The hotel is adjacent to the garage which is connected directly to the reception, so there are no problems with parking. The garage is charged extra.
The rooms are very nice and functionally decorated. We were lucky to get a corner room, and unlike the others, we had a view on two sides.
The beds are comfortable, and the bedding is of high quality and without damage. The minibar is stocked with soft drinks, a rarity these days, and the coffee set comes with a few bags of coffee and tea and a new kettle.
The bathroom is very spacious and warm. There are plenty of towels and they are of excellent quality.
The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. During check-in, we were greeted at the reception by Vito, clear and articulate, real gentleman. Top rating for the lobby bar staff on the ground floor, too. A charming waiter, a glass of Aperol spritz and an excellent burger are not a bad combination for the end of the day.
We did not use breakfast.
The check-out process was quick and easy, with smiles and a promise that this would not be our last visit.

Exceptional, sums up this property. It’s obviously brand new or very new. Teenage daughters loved it, I guess that’s all I need to say. The service is flawless and my favourite, the breakfast buffet had everything everyone could want.

Well priced and super comfortable, get like I was in a rock video when I walked into my room with a view, very happy.
Very clean and super comfy beds, cannot recommend enough.

Enough for one night. A little far from the center, although close to the train. Reasonable room with some amenities. Nothing to note in terms of hygiene. Correct breakfast, varied without being exuberant. Far from the service provided by nearby hotels such as the Hilton Canopy, however it is aEnough for one night. Amazing, clean hotel with great staff!
Everything is brand new. Reception desk was very kind and helpful.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathroom has a big bathtub where you can relax.
Internet connection is open and fast.
I was mostly surprised by the food there. For a long time I felt that I'm eatingAmazing, clean hotel with great staff!

I was mostly surprised by the food there. For a long time I felt that I'm eating homemade food and not generic hotel meals. Very tasty, fresh and well prepared.
Breakfast is also one of the strongest sides of this hotel. There is all kinds of breakfast treats.
All in all, amazing experience which I would wholehearty reccomend.

Roomy and comfortable for a brief stay. For the size of the hotel we were surprised how easy it was to get the elevator! The breakfast buffet was plentiful with lots of great options and there is a ton of space for sitting.

Not having a car we found the close-by tram system the greatest bargain for getting around. The tram was easy to use and very reasonably priced at .53 Euro one-way.

Great spa hotel for a family stay

We had a very nice week's stay in this hotel. Rooms were clean and ok sized, bed was comfortable, we had quiet rooms around us and AC was working well. Thank you for the superb cleaning!

The pool area is small but nice and some complained the water being cold but it is swimmable though and on sunny days quite refreshing so it didn't bother us. Downstairs there is a spa/ pool area with saunas, which we used daily.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the staff was always very helpful, polite and happy!
It is situated a good walk away from the old town so some might not like that but there are couple of really nice beaches close to it so that is an advantage for the location.

Long weekend stay. Very good, very clean room. Staff very friendly. Meals in the restaurant exceptional. Made use of the Spa which was great. Lovely steamroom. A likeable hotel

We thought this was a well run, stylish hotel and had a very enjoyable stay. Used the indoor and outdoor pool areas a couple of times, was not too busy but perhaps would be at some times of the year. It was nice to have somewhere to relax for aWe thought this was a well run, stylish hotel and had a very enjoyable stay. Used the indoor and outdoor pool areas a couple of times, was not too busy but perhaps would be at some times of the year. It was nice to have somewhere to relax for a while in between sightseeing. It is a bit out of town, so not so convenient from that point of view, but the surrounding area is pleasant enough. We walked a couple of times but mainly used the frequent bus service, although it was difficult to get information about the bus tickets which are much cheaper if you use the app or buy from the machines, which are only at central bus stops. We didn’t see any information about trips, but noticed that people were getting picked up at reception so not sure if this was arranged through the hotel or not.
Food was a mixed experience. Breakfast was generally good, the muesli in particular as plenty of nuts and seeds you could add. The bread was bland and disappointing though, we have had much better at other hotels in Croatia, it is one of the things we look forward to as usually much better than what you get at UK hotels and restaurants. The evening meal was again a reasonable standard overall, some things better than others and quite a limited menu. Liked the tuna salad and chocolate brownie. We didn’t think much of a nearby restaurant suggested by reception. We only stayed 4 nights, following a week in Makarska at a hotel with an evening buffet, which was superior to the food at the Marvie.
The small bar and restaurant were lacking in atmosphere in the evenings, but very few guests were using them so probably varies. It felt really cold one evening in the bar, which didn’t help. They seem to keep the temperature quite low throughout the hotel.
It is difficult to find a city hotel which ticks all boxes, and we certainly liked the Marvie enough to stay again. We had a superior room without balcony, and although no view it was spacious and comfortable with plenty of space for clothes.
Absolutely loved Split and would return to the Marvie.

Just back from a lovely week in split. We stayed B&B at the marvie hotel which was recommended to us. It was a great choice as it’s one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in & we’ve done a fair bit of travelling especially this year as a 60th yearJust back from a lovely week in split. The staff were very friendly and helpful a real credit to the hotel. Hotel itself is clean tidy and has a lovely feel to it. We didn’t use the rooftop pool too much as we were out and about most days but the times we did go it was easy to get a bed or bean bag to lounge on. We had an evening meal on one occasion which was superb. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choices. The spa was a nice option to have and we both had a massage which soothed our aching muscles. We had a deluxe room in the old part of the building overlooking the garden. The room was good, very spacious with a king size bed, plus small sofa and table, plus fridge. The buffet breakfast was great. We didn’t have any other meals at the hotel. We ate at peppers restaurant a few mins walk away which was fabulous.
The hotel is beside the new harbour, so was a great setting. We walked o to the old town every day which took. About 35- 40 mins. It is a bit hilly, but we’re reasonably active so it was ok! The beach was about 20 mins walk away. It is called sunset beach. (We saw the sunset!)

Lovely hotel in a great location, overlooking the harbour. We enjoyed exploring Lapad on foot and caught the bus ( 5 min walk to bus stop, slightly uphill) to travel into the old town. Buy your bus ticket from the kiosk at the bus stop next to the pedestrian crossing.Lovely hotel in a great location, overlooking the harbour. There are several lovely restaurants close by.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes by taxi/Uber from the Old Town. If in the summer months, I was told it would be much longer due to the small streets and congestion. Hotel was sufficient, but room and hallways seemed in need of some updating. Breakfasts were very good, a terrific buffet. Front desk staff was not particularly friendly, but they did their job when asked. There are some restaurants nearby that can be options for dining. The outdoor pool is nice but not heated. A bit shocking in early Oct but likely great in the summer. Most of the action is in the Old Town. I had an amazing dinner at Restaurant 360. It is expensive ... but a great view of the Old Port.

One of the oldest and best hotels in Dubrovnik. We had a superior room overlooking the harbour at the front of the original building (note there is a very large modern annex of over 100 rooms to the rear so hotel is actually quite large). Situated right across from the cruise ship terminal, and only a 5 minute bus into the Old City.
Room was spacious, classic, and clean. Bathroom spotless.
Few small faults so obvious needs some tlc during closed season, but nothing to spoil your day!!
Great swimming pool, but my, was it cold in October.
Restaurant is buffer service for breakfast and dinner (we opted for the 1/2 board but only ate on an evening there once - perfectly good food, but plenty of other choice locally). However, breakfast was great , with all the normally expected stuff (great omelette cooked to order).
Staff were exceptional everywhere, and you can easily see why many have been there for years - when not busy, they're always chatting to each other that shows a good team spirit!
Highly recommended.

Stayed here 3 nights following a cruise. A lovely hotel in a great location near the port. It’s a good walk to the old town mainly uphill going but buses are cheap enough. The old town is very busy especially when the cruise ships are in and Dubrovnik itself isn’t cheap.
The area of Lapad has a lot to offer and there is a strip of bars and restaurants near sunset beach which is nice to walk to after dinner. The bus station is near the port if you want to venture further afield. The room itself was nice with a small balcony which is ok for sitting out reading a book or having a coffee but very overlooked and ours had no view. Beds comfy. Small fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Asked reception for an iron and ironing board and these arrived quickly. Would have preferred a walk in shower instead of having to climb into a bath. Bath towels need to be bigger. All staff very friendly. My only downside would be the food. Whilst the choice was ok for a few days we did find the food was only tepid and mentioned this to the staff who replied there was nothing they could do!
Overall a very enjoyable stay
