Great budget hotel

I was a bit hesitant about booking this hotel but we had the best stay. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were wonderful! We loved the pool area and although we didn’t try breakfast, the evening meals in the restaurant were first class. Our studio apartment was basic with
I was a bit hesitant about booking this hotel but we had the best stay. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were wonderful! We loved the pool area and although we didn’t try breakfast, the evening meals in the restaurant were first class. Our studio apartment was basic with no frills but had everything we needed and it was comfortable and spotless. Pillows were a little lumpy as they are filled with chopped foam but we still slept well. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Antillia as it offered excellent value for money.

Good hotel in central location - jacuzzi and coffee need work

5 minute cab ride took us to a friendly greeting on arrival and a refreshing welcome drink each. Very unexpected and nice touch was much appreciated too.
While room was an odd shape, it was air-conditioned, large and spacious. Well-equipped kitchen with fridge and kettle was an added bonus. Reliable laundry

Best part was access to the spa and the pool area. Had the turkish bath and sauna been available for longer (than 1500-1800), that would have been great. Only the jacuzzi (dirty and over-chlorinated) disappointed along with the burnt coffee served in the bar.
Recommend this hotel for the central location to shops, cafes, bars and bus stop to Furnas (which we visited 3 times in 5 days). Customer service from front desk, maintenance (to resolve wifi issue) and the bar was very impressive too.
Would revisit this hotel and recommend it to others.

An OK stay in the centre.

We stayed in an apartment room. It was fairly clean. Very lumpy pillows. A great location right in Ponta Delgada. The Reception was friendly and shared really helpful information as to how the hotel works. Just a little outdated in the rooms.

Budget friendly bolthole for exploring the beautiful island of Sao Miguel

I would grade this more as a European 3* but it still offered good value considering it's location and standard of accommodation. We had to move rooms after a few days as our original room (502) faced some outlets that omitted a nasty smell of an evening which meant
I would grade this more as a European 3* but it still offered good value considering it's location and standard of accommodation. We had to move rooms after a few days as our original room (502) faced some outlets that omitted a nasty smell of an evening which meant we could not sit out on the balcony - reception staff speak great English and thankfully managed to swap to new room. The pools (indoor and outdoor), steam room and sauna were great but jacuzzi needs servicing as only a couple of jets actually work and was very murky. Spa treatments very reasonable and very good.
(Read a review saying you need to bring your own towels to use pools - this is not true, you can obtain pool towels from reception for EUR10 deposit.)
Didn't use restaurant but bar staff were great and food was good (chips are crisps, not fries though!)
Kitchenette is exactly that, two hobs, combi microwave and kettle - cooking a family meal for 5 was a challenge but doable with a camping style outlook!
All in all a great budget friendly base for exploring the island or taking boat trips and being able to semi self cater.

We chose Hotel Antillia for it's location and mostly because of the parking on site, and we were very well surprised and satisfied with our stay. The hotel is very spacious, the room was big and also the bathroom, plenty of space! The staff was always very nice to us,
We chose Hotel Antillia for it's location and mostly because of the parking on site, and we were very well surprised and satisfied with our stay. The hotel is very spacious, the room was big and also the bathroom, plenty of space! The staff was always very nice to us, and went out of their way to give us tips and try to help us with our trip plans.
The breakfast was varied and very tasty. There was a pool, that we did not have time to use, and also a spa on site. The fact that we always managed to park our rental car on site in the hotel was a big plus. Ponta Delgada's streets are very narrow and parking can be a hassle, so we were always reassured about the rental parked in the garage. And at no extra cost!
The city center can be reached by a 10 minute walk, as well as the sea front. Tha area was very quiet, we slept very well. Will stay again when we return!
