This hotel was the absolute wonderful welcoming to Greece!!! My husband and I spent three nights with a gorgeous view of the Acropolis and we would recommend this place to anybody who wants to visit Athens!!!!

Perfect base for exploring Athens

We had a very enjoyable stay here. We stayed in one of the standard studios which was very spacious, plenty of storage and room and a very comfortable bed! Basic kitchenette with breakfast bar and some basic utensils which was plenty for our short stay. Great location in the livelyWe had a very enjoyable stay here. Great location in the lively neighbourhood Psyrri but the road the hotel is on was fairly quiet at night. A local bakery just up the road which sells delicious sandwiches and cakes, minutes walk from an a array of bars and restaurants and a short walk to the tube station and some local attractions. A lovely breakfast selection and very friendly staff.
Rooftop terrace was closed unfortunately when we were there which was a shame. Not a hotel specific issue but worth knowing, there were no supermarkets nearby which maybe limited how much we actually used our kitchenette. There were a few minimarkets that mainly sold alcohol nearby but no food you could cook or fruit etc (There may be one we didn’t know about or further afield). Some of the restaurants in the area however are very reasonably priced so didn’t bother us too much.
Despite this it was a great hotel and location for exploring Athens and would definitely stay here again!

Last minute break in Athens , exceeded expectations.

This was a great location, ideal for bars and restaurants , very safe at night . Hotel rooms had kitchen area if you wanted to eat in ( many restaurants did takeout) Rooms are good size, decent showers and toiletries, very clean, linen changed regularly. This is an honest opinion, great value, great stay!
* Lots of graffiti in area , initially made us wary but this is everywhere in Athens . Would definitely recommend this hotel .

Aelia Luxury Suites is a small boutique hotel in the old village of Karterados, and it has just 30 suites. It is almost exactly in the centre of the island, making it fairly quick to reach almost anywhere.
Each suite is inspired by the traditional style of the island, with chic furnishings and views across the swimming pool. You'll get daily buffet breakfast served on a terrace by the pool, plus dinner at the hotel's Mediterranean restaurant.
Karterados village offers a more authentic, cultural experience than the big resorts on the southern coast, with lots of family-owned restaurants, winding streets filled with bougainvillea, and a much-loved traditional Greek bakery that sells fresh bread, savoury pastries, and sweet treats.
You can walk to Fira in 25 minutes, so you could wander down every day if you feel like it (or hop in a taxi, which takes just five minutes). A free shuttle runs to the capital in the evenings, so you can watch the famous sunset. There's also a foot path that leads down to Exo Gialos, a remote black-sand beach with impressive basalt rock formations. This is a slightly longer 40-minute walk, and is best reached in a taxi, which takes under 10 minutes.

Amazing people! All the staff was super friendly with us, made us feel so welcomed there.

Lovely hotel, excellent food, the pool in the suites with a view was cool. Sea view was nice, and most of all off the beaten path, but very close to everything. Great little hidden gem. This July we had our wedding in Santorini and when we were looking for accommodation for ourselves and our guests, we found Aelia Luxury Suites and we were not disappointed!!

When you first walk into this resort, it has a very tropical feel to it which is very calming and like a haven.
There are plenty of rooms so the wedding party could all stay together at the same location (close to the airport) which helped us a lot with logistics.
From the start of our planning Nikol was such a help with organising rooms for us and looking after the wedding party’s needs. Bubbly Maria was also a huge help and made sure everyone was taken care of during our stay. We also really enjoyed the Friday Bouzouki night where we danced the night away Greek style!!
The rooms are super spacious and impeccably clean, our guests also loved the Hot tubs in some of the rooms! There are a few rooms close to the poolside which was so convenient for our older and younger ones who can go back and forth to the pool easily.
The breakfast was so delicious with lots of variety beyond our expectations.
The resort has a very homely feel and made our stay in Santorini memorable. We would really like to thank ALL the staff who went out of their way to made us comfortable and made our stay enjoyable, we hope to be back again for our anniversary possibly :-)

This is a beautifully presented resort, with all the communal areas designed stylishly and very well maintained - I think it has been recently refurbished and you can tell. Reflecting, this is probably my favourite thing about the hotel the usability of the open spaces either in daytime or nighttimeThis is a beautifully presented resort, with all the communal areas designed stylishly and very well maintained - I think it has been recently refurbished and you can tell. Reflecting, this is probably my favourite thing about the hotel the usability of the open spaces either in daytime or nighttime - very very pleasant and comfortable and spacious even though the hotel was at maximum occupancy while we were there. Great for sitting out at an evening and having drinks with family and also for escaping from the heat in the daytime too. There's also a really picturesque walk down to the beach area through lovely gardens. Then the Beach itself too is a fantastic little spot with a great boardwalk and jetty and steps down for swimming in the sea with loads of fish life to see right on entry - you really don't have to go far out at all. The Beach area is good too as it has plenty of sunbeds and parasols with tables etc and also there is a dedicated bar and snack shack down there which is in the All Inclusive package, so it's really convenient for grabbing drinks and snacks if peckish between meals. You can also get Beach towels down there so you don't have to cart loads down with you.
The kids waterpark on site is excellent and will keep a variety of ages entertained for a while - in fact 3 of the slides are extremely fast! Drinks and towels and ice cream is available there too.
Away from this there is the main pool area which contains 2 seperate pools with lots of sunbeds and towels available and again a good poolside bar. One pool is standard chlorinated water and the other is salt water which some may not like. Table service is available and the waiting staff bring drinks to your sunbed and you can order on your phone too.
There are 2 main buffet restaurants and about 4 a la carte restaurants. I found the food in the buffets ok but bordering on basicish. The quality of food was fine but not amazing - all very clean and quickly replenished nothing left out for too long. I've been to other AI buffets where I'd say there is a greater selection and variety and on a more rotational basis. Some of the chairs in the main buffet were looking quite tired and are in need of replacing. Similarly the a la carte restaurants are ok but again nothing out of the ordinary. We enjoyed the Beach side restaurant the best because of it's beautiful setting and also the food there - lots of really fresh fish. One slight grumble in the buffet restaurants was that hot drinks often got brought and they were only luke warm. What i would say is that the buffets had a really goof range of deserts which lots of AI's don't seem to have.
We had a fairly standard sea view room, which again was perfectly fine but no more than that. The balcony wasn't huge but did have 2 seats and a table. The rooms with their own swim up pools or the garden rooms seemed a lot better in terms of the outside space available but equally I think they were a lot more expensive too.
One thing I would say is that we swapped rooms because our first room was absolutely miles from most of the facilities. People need to be aware that this hotel is built into a steep hill which means it is multi-levelled and there are lots and lots of steps. For people who aren't great walking this isn't the hotel for them. Even the waterpark is up a ridiculously steep hill. This adds to both the appeal of the hotel but also can make it challenging. It allows the resort to have fantasitc views of Corfu out across the Ocean and of the surrounding hills and landscape - however it can make getting around the place an effort. Our first room was about 5 levels below reception in a seperate block and whilst it was near the beach it was a treck every time we wanted to go to the pools etc.
The daytime and evening entertainment was ok but I've seen a lot better. There's no stage as such for example.
The drinks included are really good quality top brand spirits and some great cocktails.
I think areas for improvement are the speed at which you are brought drinks in some areas of the hotel, it seems some staff are only able to take plates away and not bring drinks so tif they were able to bring drinks it would be a simple fix. They missed a couple of opportunities to make more of the 2 Beach parties they held. It's a great setting and if organised better they could have been really good events but the service was dreadful primarily because they didn't have enough bar staff on but the whole event just needs planning a bit more.
Also it was annoying that we tried to book the kids club before even arriving and it was all fully booked and the day we arrived we tried to book all the al a carte restaurants and some we weren't able to so I don't think that's acceptable either.
The hotel is in a great location in terms of it's views and access to its own private are of the beach etc but not if you want to walk out anywhere - it's quite isolated.
Overall though a really great stay and a very safe resort for families and children - who will love it.

The hotel is built on a huge complex which at first can be quite overwhelming, as you can get lost. Once you get your bearings it is much easier to navigate where you want to go very easily.

The staff are excellent and will do everything possible to assist; which we had first hand experience of upon arrival due to the initial allocation of the room. After being dropped off at the room, I went onto the balcony to admire the 'sea view' which I had paid for and found my immediate view was of a 'dusty' carpark, but if I looked sideways I could see the sea.
Reception were very accommodating and moved us to another room in a separate building which had a sea view; after 'accepting' this room, my daughter then became stressed as the balcony was on a level that provided no privacy from people walking past. My daughter is Autistic and likes to spend time on the balcony, so this was not acceptable.
We agreed to sleep in this room on the first night and was moved back into the main building the following day, this time with a room facing the sea. Both the local Jet2 representative and reception staff were brilliant, especially as I felt awful having to request a further room change.
The hotel offers so much variety, however if you are not going to use what is available then maybe consider looking for an alternative hotel as it would reduce the overall cost of your holiday.
We had a very relaxing stay in a beautiful setting.

I am very late writing my review but here goes! We, a family of four adults, had a thoroughly glorious time staying at the Marbella, despite some very negative reviews. We usually go to Spain or the States and hire a villa, so this is only our second time ofI am very late writing my review but here goes! We, a family of four adults, had a thoroughly glorious time staying at the Marbella, despite some very negative reviews. We usually go to Spain or the States and hire a villa, so this is only our second time of going all-inclusive and our first time in Corfu. We arrived late at night and as other reviewers mentioned we were given boxes of sandwiches, bottles of water and sparkling wine if we wished. We stayed in two Junior Suites, 611 and 637, both of which were lovely, beautifully clean with lovely sea views.
We found the food to be lovely, with plenty of options for meat/fish eaters and the like. I’m bemused that so many people complained about the lack of choice? I cook all the time and have a really varied diet, so I’m not sure what else people wanted on the buffets. I do however appreciate that if it were a day when you were not taking advantage of an A La Carte experience, going to the buffet for breakfast, lunch and then in the evening could be a bit repetitive. Just because it’s all inclusive does not stop you from leaving the resort. We had a delicious meal one lunchtime in Benitses at the Loris Taverna, a must try restaurant in a beautiful little town, easily reached by bus or taxi from the Marbella.
Due to our length of stay we enjoyed four A La Carte meals, choosing to do two at Kum Kuat, one at the Deck Bar and Grill and one at Kuzina. We switched out our fifth option to have a Dine Out experience in a restaurant literally a few metres from the hotel, the Kohyli Bay. They were all delicious, but Kum Kuat was our favourite, closely followed by Kuzina. I had a fish tartare in Kuzina which was stunning!
Talking of Kuzina if you want a quieter breakfast experience do try it. We only did so at the end of our holiday but I’d highly recommend it.
My daughters, both in their twenties, enjoyed the unlimited use of the non-motorised water sports and the snorkelling masks, as well as the Aqua Park.
We usually sat on the Sun Terrace and had no problem getting sun loungers, although as the state schools broke up just before we left, large groups arrived and therefore took eight/ ten or so loungers which could have proved a problem to those getting to the terrace later.
Getting drinks at the pool was easy, either by walking to the bar or using the app. People complained about the plastic cups, poor alcohol, needed six drinks to feel any benefit etc etc. Everything was great!
Talking of complaints, as our stay went on, there was a big presence of staff wandering around and approaching guests to get their feedback. The staff were great and I would especially like to mention Jim, the manager of the Pool area. Everyone needs a Jim on their staff! Fabulous chap! Always had a smile for you, be he serving drinks or riding the ice cream cart! Others that need a mention are Nick, a young student from Athens, working at the Marbella for the summer. He also worked around the pool serving food and drinks in the searing heat and enjoyed talking football with the two LUFC fans in the group. Also to Spyros from Guest Relations who was charming and ever smiling, even when overheard having to deal with complaints about the softness of towels! I had a complimentary shoulder, back and neck massage by a delightful young girl working in the Spa. I forget her name but it was a joy talking to her about her Physiotherapy course and her sisters. Also to Sosi who we met working in La Terraza. There were many more, all of whom made for a super experience.
The entertainment in the evening was good, some more so than others, but again, you don’t have to listen/watch. Enjoy a quieter post meal drink in the Eleonas Cocktail Bar.
Definitely worth a visit is Corfu Town, using the bus service timetabled in the Reception. Easy to use and cheap. Yes it is a walk back to the bus station but definitely go.
So, at the end of all this, would we return, yes! It is a family hotel and due to various commitments we chose to stay during the school summer holidays, even though we don’t need to. We would like to visit again, but out of school holidays, maybe mid to late September.

A fabulous hotel in a wonderful location

We just spent a week in a family suite with our two children, aged 17 and 19. This boutique hotel is situated on the breezy West Coast, where you need to be situated to watch the most incredible sunsets from the balcony. The hotel is 5 minutes' walk from the beach bars (where we hired beds each day), 10 minutes from the lively port where all the boat trips depart from and 15 minutes' walk to the centre of the Old Town. The hotel is equipped to the highest standards (Bulgari soap, etc.). We even had our own cooking facilities, though we didn't need them. When we arrived, the staff said they wanted us to feel like it was a home-from-home, which it certainly was. The excellent service we received from Nikos at the front desk meant we visited all the best places and made the very best of our stay. We will be back.

We have just spent a family trip in Rhodes and booked our stay at the Bellevue Hotel.
It was AMAZING! We were extremely happy with our choice. Perfectly clean rooms, exceptional breakfast, perfect service and the staff is making the whole experience even better. Marvelously Magical, Memorable Rhodes Experience

We spent 5 nights at Bellevue On The Beach Suites and it was one of the most wonderful, memorable hotel stays we have ever had as a family. My husband, 7 year old son and I traveled to Rhodes to attend a wedding. We had never been to Greece, letWe spent 5 nights at Bellevue On The Beach Suites and it was one of the most wonderful, memorable hotel stays we have ever had as a family. My husband, 7 year old son and I traveled to Rhodes to attend a wedding. We had never been to Greece, let alone Rhodes. We knew nothing about anything. We found Bellevue on the Beach Suites because the wedding couple linked to a list of hotels that were part of the Esperia Collection. The wedding party and most of the guests stayed in a big resort in Faliraki -- the only reason we didn't stay there was because it was an adults-only resort (and we had our child with us)... but we are SO GLAD we ended up at Bellevue instead. It was the perfect fit for us. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with premium view, which had the most astonishing view of the ocean and the north point of the island. Absolutely stunning. The room was immaculate, spacious, and had everything a family could want. It was great to be able to cook simple meals if needed, especially as we have a picky eater child. The staff are so kind, and the intimate and personable quality really made us feel not only at home but totally safe. We needed to hire a sitter for our son to attend the wedding -- which is a nerve-wracking endeavor for parents when in a foreign place with no local contacts. Katerina introduced us to a wonderful sitter, and given the security and privacy Bellevue offers, we felt totally safe and confident that our son was in good hands. We had a great time at the wedding, and our son had an awesome time with his sitter Tasoula, who patiently played Nintendo Switch with him. Dimitri, Theodore and Nico were fabulous. The breakfast is wonderful and so elegant as well as totally delicious. The rooftop infinity pool, which each room/family can reserve for private use for 2 hour blocks, is INSANE. THE VIEW! All the details were perfection; the attention and thoughtfulness, and the elegant, smooth delivery is impressive and so appreciated. Katerina was prompt in my email questions prior to our arrival, and a gorgeous delight when we finally met in person. We loved the location, even though we were away from our friends. It worked for us, balancing out the wedding party aspect with visiting the island part. The beach is gorgeous. Bellevue is a very impressive property, and we are so fortunate to have stayed there. Our son felt so happy and loved staying there, he made me promise that if we ever returned to Rhodes, we would stay there. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you, Bellevue team!

My friend and I stayed at Filion Resort late June '24. Whilst we enjoyed our week away from the usual grind, we were pretty underwhelmed and unimpressed with both Filion resort and Bali.

Fortunately we hired a car for 3 days during our trip so were able to get out and about to explore other parts of the island. Bali itself is rather unprepossessing, just a long road with shops/supermarkets dotted along. There are a couple of beaches there, neither that we visited so unable to comment upon those. Once we had the car, we were able to head elsewhere. We visited the lovely Panormos a couple of times which is just along the coast from Bali. It had some really nice shops/restaurants and was far less touristy than Bali.
Whilst the shuttle minibus was useful to get in and out of Bali, it is small (holds about 8 people I think) and stops I think around 18.00 hours. We witnessed several people queuing for the minibus but then being unable to board it. The road from the resort into Bali didn't appear to have any/much of a foot path and this isn't a walk that should be attempted at night, far too dark with no real street lighting once you leave the main road to head up to the resort. We hired the car via the reception, price worked out around £120 for the 3 days and it was delivered and collected from the hotel, which was very convenient. This also meant that we didn't have to run the gauntlet of the minibus in order to get into Bali in order to pick up a hire car from there.
We had a superior room with mountain view, it was spacious with a good sized balcony overlooking the pool area. However the bathroom was tired, the shower and the screen needed a good scrub and there were hairs in the bath when we arrived! The whole room was quite dated, beige with dark brown furniture. On the plus side, the bed was comfy and the aircon worked well as did the wi-fi, we were able to stream although not able to cast to the room TV. We were on the same level as the restaurant which saved us a bit of a climb up from the lower rooms. We really didn't want to hang around to see any of the entertainment in the evenings; there was a clown on one night that we fortunately missed seeing.
There are about 3 pools in the resort, not particularly big ones but good enough for short swims and cooling off. There is no pool service however and it really is a bit of a bun fight at times getting a lounger. I bought my own beach towel for the pool, otherwise it was a ?5 euro deposit and a trail up to reception everyday for a clean towel and back again at the end of the day to drop it off! I don't think I have ever stayed in a 5* resort that didn't provide towels at the poolside and also required a cash deposit.
We have stayed at other 5* resorts, all of which have had pretty high standards of service but this was really lacking at Filion Resorts. For example, we were greeted at the door of the restaurant and shown to a seat but that was pretty much it in terms of service! We hung around on the first morning, unsure what to do e.g. are we served tea/coffee/juice at the table or is it DIY? DIY it was and that pretty much set the scene for the stay. There were no staff around the pool areas at all (see my comment below re towels) and any rubbish/plastic glasses etc tended to be only cleared away in the evenings. There were usually only 2 barmen on duty and one in particular seemed stressed, on one occasion declined to make us a Pina colada as 'it would take too long!".
Food and drink deserve a special mention but not in a good way. It is all buffet style and the restaurant is less Michelin and more works canteen in atmosphere. I don't eat meat so my food choices were of course limited but apparently the meat options were equally disappointing. We found the quality of food very poor, often without flavour/seasoning. One night, the vegetarian option was a patty shaped mashed potato with half a tomato and some cheese grilled on top of it, totally lacking in any imagination or flavour. On another night there was a dish of chickpeas and lentils, no sauce, just boiled lentils mixed with chickpeas. There were fish dishes most nights but again lacking flavour/dry/overcooked and we did wonder if the fish had been frozen, rather than fresh. The puddings were generally ok however and saved me from starvation. What did concern us was the lack of accurate labelling, goodness knows how people with allergies managed. On a couple of occasions I came across some meat in a dish that had been unlabelled and therefore I couldn't work out if it were vegetarian or not.
The cocktails were, on the whole awful and bore no resemblance to cocktails we have had elsewhere. For example, Singapore Sling was gin and lemonade, which last time I looked, should have had cherry brandy, triple sec etc. included. All the drinks at the bar were served in single use plastic glasses and plastic straws with no visible recycling places for us to put the glasses in once we had finished with the drink. The rose and white wines were quaffable and the Mythos beer too. In the mornings the dining room has a fresh orange juicer, this was lovely and probably the best thing about breakfast.
I would certainly return to Crete again but not Filion resort and spa.
On a slightly separate issue, there are a large amount of 5* reviews regarding the resort from first time reviewers and this did raise my suspicions somewhat prior to our trip............

My stay at Filion was delightful, thanks largely to the exceptional restaurant staff. They were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to create a memorable dining experience. Although the hotel could benefit from updates in amenities and food options, the restaurant team's outstanding service was a highlight.

Special recognition goes to Fortini, Sofia, Dionysus, Muhammad, Said, Joanna (Yovanna?), Moustafa, Edison, Antonio, and Alex for their exceptional service. The reception staff, particularly Regina and Joseph, were also incredibly helpful and accommodating.
Housekeeping's Aurora ensured our rooms were immaculate, always greeting us with a warm smile. Her jovial nature added to our pleasant stay.

Very well organized hotel with amazing management and staff. It is in the best position in central Crete with fantastic views and comfortable outside areas. The rooms were very comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis. The hotel is beautiful, with 3 lovely pools. There are plenty of sun loungers and always spots available. The staff work extremely hard and are very very friendly - nothing is too much trouble. The food is very goodThe rooms were very comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis. Excellent staff, nice management , the best hotel we have ever been. The food is tasteful and the drinks exactly what we paid for. The spa massages are fantastic.
