Conveniently located in a quiet residential neighbourhood yet very accessible. At least 3 supermarkets within a 5 mins walking distance, good for any last-minute souvenir ideas. Conveniently located in a quiet residential neighbourhood yet very accessible. At least 3 supermarkets within a 5 mins walking distance, good for any last-minute souvenir ideas. The nearest metro (Aghios Ionnais on the red line) is also just a 5 minutes walk away. A stroll to the Acropolis would only take 15-20mins. Neighbourhood is not too bustling, so felt very safe even walking on the streets alone during night time. If you're looking for nightlife there's also a couple of bars within walking distance which opens until midnight.
Room is spacious and clean, with uninterrupted flow of hot water while taking a showering. Wifi connection is also hassle-free and quick. View was... My view was other peoples' balcony, but at least you can see the sunlight seeping through. Been told by the front desk receptionist Chara that I was being upgraded to the premium room due to my membership, which added more happy surprises for me during my 4 night at this hotel.
I would like to give a huge thank you to the following persons:
Ervis for assisting my check-out and helping me to hail a cab to the airport. He also reminded me about the fix rate to the airport so that I wouldn't get scammed by the driver.
And Chara... Oh there is so much to say thank you about this sweet lady. She's a really helpful and thoughtful person, and I have to say she's the person who made me experience what Greek hospitality really is about. There was one that I'm looking for dinner ideas, she firstly gave me a few suggestions, and then she was kind enough to help me to phone the restaurant to reserve a table. There was also another time I discovered that despite of the mild weather, no one but only me was wearing shorts on the metro. I immediately told her about this finding, afraid that I might have break some kind of social taboo. She explained the phenomenon to me then comforts me, telling me to "No need to feel bad about yourself". I felt so warm and touched, as she really care about my feelings. Even I'm just new in this city and just her for a few days only, I do have a feeling as if she's treating me like a family member.
I'm really blessed to have chosen this hotel to reside at, and I'm so contented to have met such wonderful people during my travel. I truly wish everyone working at ibis Athens Routes all the best, especially to Chara, and hopefully in the near future I could visit this amazing and friendly city again.

The best IBIS I’ve stayed at. The staff was friendly and the location was good a 5 minute walk to the metro and within 15 minutes of most tourist spots by train. The room was big for European standards and comfortable. The only issue was the bathroom smells like sewage

The suite was the size of an apartment. The premier room was simply superb with a sofa cum bed in addition to the very comfortable double bed.

The staff are very welcoming & informative - Peny at front desk was exceptional! Konstantis provided me with excellent advice regarding getting to places of interest & patiently answered my ceaseless queries about Athens. Dora at the bar provided the perfect guidance to drinking Greek spirits!
The restaurant was not operational hence no room service for food.
Still, a stay to be savoured!

More a place for older guests or for those who want a quiet relaxing place after exploring busy Santorini.
Breakfast was very basic, but there was enough to eat. I feel they should have more of a variety. The hosts - husband and wife team, were very friendly and helpful though. They moved us from a room with a double bed - to a family room (triple room) since two beds were requested at time of booking.

At first we were like where are we looked like we were in the middle of the dessert but it turned out to be a great area and service with a nice small tasty breakfast. The room itself was ok bed and breakfast feel, beds ok pillows decent they had a safe, mini fridge, balcony outside the hotel. Shower was really small which is probably only downside as the water sort of went toward the sink and toilet bowl they also had a blower too. To be honest the hospitality service was great too. The hotel is away from most tourist attractions but the bus is close by 5 min walking distance and was a very nice Coach bus with great seats for $2.50. The area also has some Gems like Black Beach and another Red Beach as well as local convenience stores, restaurants and pizza place close by. We rented a car which also was nearby and Kiki arranged that they would bring the car right to hotel and drop it off there too for $50 Euros for the day and she told us where to go and best place to eat which we loved and went back 2x it had a garden within it and near all the shopping area. We also drove all over the island to Oia, Fira to the Light House and saw the Blue Domes. So overall it was a good stay and we do recommend this hotel and area Perissa was pretty cool.

We went to the town of Oia in Santorini. The view was BEAUTIFUL & BREATHTAKING. Lovely white and blue house and restaurants and churches.

It was always going to be a difficult act to follow for this hotel as we had been to Sani the year before. It is a really nice hotel but it definitely felt a bit like a second rate Sani.

The room was fantastic – we had a two-bedroom suite with private pool and great views. The kids loved the private pool. The only negative was that by about 3pm it was in the shade.
The water park was great – again fantastic for the kids. It was a bit annoying to trek through the car park and up a hill to get to it but not a big deal.
The service in the bars in the evening was great

The mini bar in the room was rarely topped and the fridge temperatures were warm. The service at the restaurants was not great. At the buffet restaurant, some aggressive guy sits you down and then no one takes your drinks orders – by the time someone does come round, you’ve basically finished your meal.
Although not the resorts’ fault, the wasp situation is horrendous after dark. We had to abandon one meal and then could never sit outside again after dark.
The app service was a bit and miss. Sometimes I ordered and nothing ever came, sometimes I ordered and drinks came straight away. So it was a bit annoying never knowing quite what service you were going to get. In the end I just went up to the bars and ordered. The Wifi was fairly sketchy and I noticed that the cleaning around the pools could be better – it always seemed a bit grubby around the pools.
The evening entertainment was a bit non-existent. There is no main stage or anything like that for acts.
Summary
A really enjoyable stay but having been to Sani the year before this definitely felt like a grade below.

I was a bit worried that we would be disappointed about our stay, as we usually stay at Ikos but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was beautiful and there was a variety of communal spaces, which meant it didn’t feel busy, even though our stay was during half term
I was a bit worried that we would be disappointed about our stay, as we usually stay at Ikos but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was beautiful and there was a variety of communal spaces, which meant it didn’t feel busy, even though our stay was during half term week.
It was so lovely that people did not feel the need to get up early to reserve sun-beds. There was always plenty of space and again, it didn’t feel crowded at all.
There were some welcome little extras- e.g. pottery, robotics and the sunset boat cruise. Staff were very accommodating in arranging these via email before our arrival.
The staff were amazing and I felt that the standard of service was pretty close to Ikos.
Food- we all really enjoyed! Buffet was ok but a la carte options were very good. Loved Kumquat and Celeste in particular.
Drinks- excellent! Any branded drink you could wish for and cocktails were really good too.
Things that would have made it perfect…
-A dining area by the pool to enjoy poolside food, drinks and snacks as an alternative to using sun-beds
-Lower temperature for the air-conditioning…it often felt warm in the room, as it only went as low as 19 degrees and you couldn’t leave the aircon on whilst out so the room ended up quite hot, even at the end of October!
-An a la carte breakfast option and a proper a la carte lunch menu at any of the restaurants
-More than one mini bar refill as standard, would have been lovely
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the relaxed ambience of the place.

The perfect family holiday

We spent a week here in mid October and had the best family holiday! (we have 2 boys aged 10 and 8)
As we checked in, the hotel had such a nice vibe - gorgeous smell (which you can buy as a candle in the shop!) and very nice bar areas

As we checked in, the hotel had such a nice vibe - gorgeous smell (which you can buy as a candle in the shop!) and very nice bar areas near the lobby.
We loved our room (which was one of the cheapest options), overlooking the main bar areas etc. Plenty of space in the room for the 4 of us.
Our boys loved the waterpark pool but we spent most of our time down at the 'beach' which is a large decked area and spent our time swimming in the sea and making the most of the free pedaloes, kayaks, snorkelling gear and paddleboards.
What a treat ordering hot and cold drinks and food right to your lounger!
We've done a few all-inclusive holidays and this was the nicest hotel we've stayed in terms of:
- the ambience and style (very much to our taste!) of the room, lobby, bar areas etc and the grounds are lovely and very well-kept - high standard!
- the service was amazing, so many great staff - we've never had to wait such little time to get served
*Special shout outs to Despona in M bar and Polysemi, Dollis and Nikos in the Deck Bar where we enjoyed lunching every day. All of these were so warm and really made our stay special!*
- the food is good, no complaints - something for everyone!
- the drinks are great, cocktails are fantastic and we enjoyed the wine too which we don't usually on all-in holidays
We enjoyed the evening entertainment too!
Only things to flag:
- kids club was already fully booked when we got this (we were there during Welsh term time but was Scottish half term) - this didn't bother us as we had more family time but I guess you can book in advance. Likewise the sunset cruise was already booked as they only do this twice a week. Plenty of availability on the other free boat trip but it was a bit long for us
- there's nowhere really to walk to outside the hotel - couple of tavernas, shops, we walked up the big hill behind the hotel. But we knew this when we booked. Plenty of buses to Corfu which pick up right from the hotel door!
Overall we were very impressed with this hotel and have no complaints.
Credit to all the staff who are the friendliest and most helpful we've met in any hotel, enjoy your winter break!

From start to finish could not fault this hotel it lives up to a 5 star hotel.
It is quite a large hotel but don’t let that put you off as never queued for drinks or to be seated at meal times.

The food was excellent at every service plenty of choice fresh and warm in the buffet restaurant I would say probably the best buffet dining we have had to a high standard.
4 a la carte which were fantastic the Asian restaurant was prob our favourite and you get to use a local Greek taverna which the food and service was fantastic plus a bit of dancing and plate smashing for kids.
We upgraded to a private swim up room which our boys loved the room was very generous and presented to a high standard maid service morning and night and a restocked mini bar daily.
Water slides and aqua park was a bonus with a bar with friendly staff.
2 bars in the lobby plenty of space to sit and activity’s every night from the entertainment team.
2 pools to choose from with a fresh water pool which was a bit cool on entering but once in was lovely.
The beach area is a short walk again with a beach bar and snacks with loads of sun loungers to choose free use of the non motorised water sorts which we used daily and a really nice lad called sodarious runs it really good English and so helpful, he also works in the local taverna on an evening.
We used the inclusive boat trip to the south of the island which was very relaxing and you get to have a good swim in a small cove once you arrive the water is crystal clear so take your snorkels.
All of the staff from arriving to leaving were so pleasant always ready to serve you and with a smile
We found the pool bar staff where we spent most of our time couldn’t do enough for you they were so polite and greeted you with a smile they have a lad called Jim who works there who is one the the nicest people we came across at the hotel and a credit to the hotel and works so hard to greet you with a smile and serve your every needs, he even came to meet us on the last morning at reception to say goodbye hopefully see you next time Jim it was a pleasure and thanks for looking after us.
Don’t hesitate booking this hotel you will not be disappointed.
To all the staff who were all so friendly from the ground workers and chefs and maids keep up the good work.

Service from all staff is 5* a special mention to Jim at the pool bar who goes the extra mile with a smile.
Rooms are spotless, pool areas well kept.
Only negative is the beach area, it can look untidy

My husband and I chose the Olive Green Hotel based on other guest reviews and location within Heraklion. It did not disappoint. We were upgraded from a simple room to a room with a balcony which was very comfortable. Once I worked out the controls we were able to achieve a suitable temperature in the room. The shower is a unique design, being within a separate cubicle in the bedroom itself but definitely works. The beds were ideally comfortable.
The reception staff were always very polite, friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was ample with a great choice ranging from various cereals, dried fruit and nuts, hot choices with bacon, eggs etc, breads, Cretan rusks, marmalades, jams etc, juices and a decent tasting coffee.
We used the restaurant/cafe a couple of times. Very good value for money, well presented and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
All in all I would recommend this hotel and if I have opportunity to visit Heraklion again I will choose to stay at the Olive Green Hotel.

The room was adequate. They do not supply hair conditioner --A fact that seems to be different from all other hotels.
Although there were one or two staff present in the breakfast room, they did not engage at all with the guests even to greet them. When I asked for decaf coffee, they said there would be an additional charge. Really??

To be fair, the hotel isn't a 5 star hotel, so don't expect that. However for the location, service, food, comfort, I rate this highly at 5 stars. The room is a little different from what I am used to, whereby there isn't a separate bathroom. The toilet is separate,

The location is fantastic. Walking distance to everything at the centre of Hereklion, and just 10 mins from the pier where you can take the ferry. The service is excellent and the staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The food in their cafe is nice, I had a superb dessert. The breakfast is so very good and we never have to eat lunch. The rooms are kept excellently clean. The bed is very comfy. I've stayed at many places in my travels and this hotel stands out for overall experience.
I am very happy with my Crete holiday with Olive Green Hotel and I recommend it.

Excellent location- right in the city walking center with many restaurants and shops, walking distance to port, hop-on, hop-off tour busses and archeological museum.
Feels very safe even at night.

Absolutely fabulous boutique hotel. Amazing staff very attentive, kind, and helpful. All recommendations were perfect. Amazing view and the hotel was clean, decorated very nicely, and very comfortable! You even have options for pillows and we had a washing machine in our room. We will definitely be staying there again!

Wonderful location right next to a nice beach. Immediately greeted with lovely drinks by the amazing staff - everything the other reviews say about the management and hosts is true. They are helpful, warm and do everything they can to help.

Our two bedroom suite was large, well laid out with a great balcony. Ceilings quite low but felt like a really comfy ship’s cabin. The bathroom wasn’t amazing but absolutely fine. Just a shower but worked well.
Little swimming pool is freezing but cute, the pool upstairs that you can book is a bit warmer. But frankly when you have the sea outside who needs a pool?
Breakfast in the mornings on the patio was great with fresh breads, pastries and a choice from the a la carte menu.
We absolutely loved the Bellevue and would be delighted to return.

We stayed for 14 nights in a two bedroom suite. We were only one couple but we liked the size and facilities in the two bedroom. The suite had everything you would want in a five star hotel. We loved the size of the suite but especially the balconies. There
We stayed for 14 nights in a two bedroom suite. We were only one couple but we liked the size and facilities in the two bedroom. The suite had everything you would want in a five star hotel. We loved the size of the suite but especially the balconies. There was a large balcony which had a little sun early morning and was great when returning at night before bed. The small West facing balcony was superb as it had the sun from 3pm until sunsets which were stunning.
The suite was really clean with daily housekeeping. The bed was super comfy and the suite had a nice range of Bvlgari toiletries. The small kitchen area we did not use but it did have an oven and hob, and there was a good sized fridge.
We have stayed in many nice hotels but the service we experienced from the Bellvue team was the best ever. We were superbly looked after by Dimitrios and Theodores who served up an excellent breakfast ( breakfast could also be served on the balcony which was a really great experience with such fantastic views) and Nikos in the afternoon was always on hand to suggest best restaurants and bars. All three went over and above to ensure we had a great experience at the Bellvue. A nice touch from the team who supplied a lovely chocolate cake on my wife’s birthday.
The roof pool can be hired for two hours in advance and we were pleasantly surprised that it was always available when we returned from a day on the beach.
The location is excellent with numerous restaurants, bars and supermarkets in the area. The old town is an easy 25 minute walk.
Overall I think my wife summed it up nicely when she said that staying at the Bellvue Suites was like visiting your best friends and being pampered when you are there.
We will be back.

Lovely hotel in beautiful quiet surroundings. Staff were wonderful, efficient and friendly, and were fantastic when my daughter needed emergency hospital treatment for a pre-existing medical condition. Food was delicious and very varied and only problem was deciding what to eat from the enormous choice.
Our room 210 had a beautiful view of the sea and a nice balcony too. The Greek night and Latin dancing were good fun, and our crowd had a great time.
A car comes in very handy for visiting Nikiti Old Town, Neo Marmaras both about 10 mins drive away, and Athytos which is about 45 mins away; all very pretty and well worth a visit. Thank you to Miki and staff for making our holiday so lovely

Five friends and I had the pleasure of taking a well deserved winter break at the Arcotel Elea Beach hotel from 15th to 22nd October 2024. I have to say we were all very impressed with all the staff who couldn't do enough for you. Miki, the manager was fabulous

I have to say we were all very impressed with all the staff who couldn't do enough for you. Miki, the manager was fabulous and most helpful with getting different dishes in the restaurant.
Delighted to have met Dina (chef) who even made potato bhajis for us as we fancied a bit of spicey food. Spiros and Lefteris were always in the restaurant to help with meals.
We had also considered going to a Greek restaurant as one of my friend fancied trying grilled fish- just mentioned it and we had grilled fish the next evening which unfortunately was our last evening. We were treated to Greek dancing later in the evening.
Absolutely fab time was had by all of us. Thanks also to Alexandra in the reception and Anita who served us drinks in the bar.
Definitely visit again !
