Stayed here before our cruise. Unfortunately due to flight delays we did not arrive at lunchtime as planned, instead it was the early hours of the morning

The welcome from George at check-in was friendly & genuine. He quickly got us checked in, then offered complimentary tea & coffee/refreshments. He pointed out where a 24 food outlet was but advised not to walk there if we planned on going due to the surrounding area (we declined as just wanted to sleep)
The room was basic but clean, the bed was comfortable and the air con worked well. Curtains were ill fitting and did not block all the light, but this did not affect us sleeping. The shower was good.
Breakfast was adequate, with a lot of choice
As a one night stop over the hotel is fine, did not see enough of the area or the hotel’s other facilities to comment on a longer stay

Nice hotel close to the metro station Metaxourgeio, the staff was very nice. Also, we tried out the pool and bar on top of the hotel. Good service over all, we really enjoyed our stay there. Many have commented the neigbourhood, but we did not see any of this even

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel was perfect. First, we arrived at 9am and our room was ready for us by 10:30. The reception lady helped us to contact our bank as we have been stolen in metro on our way to the hotel from the airport.

The reception lady helped us to contact our bank as we have been stolen in metro on our way to the hotel from the airport. She was amazing, made us feel like home. She offered to us a small breakfast complimentary as long as we were waiting for the room. Her kindness was what we needed 🙏.As we checked in , we informed her that we would be checking out early and advised that they would have a bagged breakfast for takeout. Hotel was clean , room was basic but with comfortable bed and pillows. . The roof top has an amazing view. We recommend it for drinks and dinner. The pool very small but nice. Negative point is the area, fortunately Katrina told us better not to walk around and called us taxi for the city center. We enjoyed our stay and we will recommend it for sure .

This Hotel is a gem the staff where so helpful and friendly the rooms were very clean and comfortable the food was great and the rooftop bar and restaurant and pool first class 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 the only thing is the area it’s just ok but if you keep left when you go out the front door all is good . My wife and myself stayed for 2 nights before going on R curise and spent the day with them before R flight home the staff organised a taxi to pick us up from the ship and take us to the hotel .
Myself and my wife give them a 10 out of 10

Hermes is a quality vacation A' class Hotel located in Kamari Village, in a pleasant walking distance of 200 meters from the most cosmopolitan and black sandy beach of the island.
The Hotel, built with the traditional and unique Cycladic architecture, was partly renovated in 2016 and elegantly equipped to satisfy all your needs.
It consists of two buildings with nice gardens between them, a stunning outdoor pool, a pool bar and a restaurant. Besides the pool are the hotel's everyday's meeting points.

Nice pool 👍
Breakfast was a bit mid however cake was nice!
I stayed here while I was staying at kos!
Only problem was door to Balcony not locking however they got it fixed in a few days!
Bathroom light was a bit temperamental.

Pancakes were really good and so was the chicken burger and other food!
The "hill" is nothing not bad at all and fine.
I would hardly class it as a hill!

Once again Hermes is a cracking hotel! Very friendly staff/ owners! Wide selection of breakfast foods!
Rooms are well maintained, really kind/freindlybl cleaning staff.
Nice views from the balconies of our rooms.

Typical Greek accomodation and hospitality - perfect!!

This was our second visit to Kefalos in 2 years, last time we stayed at the other end of Kefalos, which was also fabulous. I did prefer this hotel, a lovely big pool area, with plenty of space between the sun loungers, lots of loungers, so never an issue
This was our second visit to Kefalos in 2 years, last time we stayed at the other end of Kefalos, which was also fabulous. I did prefer this hotel, a lovely big pool area, with plenty of space between the sun loungers, lots of loungers, so never an issue getting one, even in July. One of the biggest pools in Kefalos, I would imagine.
The hotel is located slightly up a slope from the beach, approx 10 min walk, no path, but drivers are curteous. The village is up to the right, also about a 10 min walk, but uphill!!
There is some steps just past the atm, which cuts the corner off, then its right on the road, past a lovely looking church, once past the hugh/steep curve in the road there is some steps, which take you upto the village. Magnificent views from up there. If you don't mind the walk in the heat, there is a bar/restaurant called Castello worth checking out for pita gyros for 3.5 euros and the drink is cheap as well.
Some of the restaurants up in the village will come and collect you for free, if you make a booking, and they let you have time to explore the village as well. Reception can organise this for you. We just walked and burnt of some calories!!
Rooms are typical greek style, basic, but have everything you need, including hairdryer. Rooms cleaned daily except Sunday. Ground floor balconies/terraces are bigger than thos higher up. The only division is a glass panel, so you can chat easily to other guests, a pro for some, maybe not so private for others. We liked it, got to chat and share experiences of Kos.
Take a washing line/pegs as there is not one supplied.
Breakfast is typical greek/contintenal, bread, toast machine, ham, eggs, cheese, cereals, melon, yoghurt, juice etc. Plenty to choose from. If you fancy an English breakfast, I recommend Bravo Cafe Bar, next door to the Kefalos Market supermarket, which I have to say is inexpensive and sells everything!! The other supermarket Skala, does an amazing homemade honey and orange cake!!
Favourite restaurants include Sebastians, Santa Barbara, Gallini, Hipprocrates.
Favourite bars, Acropol, Flamengo Bar and My Place Bar.
Kefalos is a long resort and worth a walk along the road and beach to discover all the various eateries and bars!!
We were with easyjet holidays and did'nt have to pay for our air con, unlike other guests, so a plus for us, but not so for those with jet2. It's 7 euros a day!!
Safety deposit boxes are in the foyer, we did'nt bother, it felt so safe, so not sure how much these cost.
Pro's; Location, views, cleanliness, staff, the pool, snack bar inexpensive and decent portions.
Cons; The walk back from the beach uphill in the heat and the snack bar not selling gyros pita for lunch they do gyros plate, but if you only want a snack the pita is perfect, so we went elsewhere for our fix of these!!

The bathroom had a hand held shower which I quickly got used to but I managed to soak the floor every time I used it. The breakfast was what you expect at a hotel of this type, fruit and yogurt (melon while I was there), bread for toast and bread for eating without toasting, cheese, meats, tomatoes, cucumber, cake, muesli , cornflakes, tea, coffee, juice. The pool is enormous by usual standard and plenty of brollies and sun beds. By the pool has a small bar that makes snacks such as burgers, hotdogs, Greek salad. You are not allowed to take your own food and drink to the pool as in all Greek hotels I believe. It is situated on a hill between the town of Kefalonia and the village of Kefalonia. Nothing onerous for those with an average level of fitness but hard work on a very hot day!

Good hotel, need to be fit to climb the hill from the main road and steps to your room. Breakfast was basic and nothing hot, but was still good.
