LOUD
The rooms are not soundprooofed at all. I heard every car and siren all night. I was only there for one night because it looked halfway between the train station and the airport. I would have gotten more peace and quiet sleeping in the airport. If

The hotel itself was very clean, modern and tidy and considering we were on the main road, it was pretty quiet. We walked into the city centre but this was quite a trek. To get a taxi you would be looking at around €10 each way.

The hotel itself was very clean, modern and tidy and considering we were on the main road, it was pretty quiet. We walked into the city centre but this was quite a trek. To get a taxi you would be looking at around €10 each way.
The terrace area out front was closed due to windows being replaced in the building. Our room was one of the rooms that needed replacing which was an inconvenience.
Breakfast was good with a range of choice between hot and cold options. On our last night we decided to have dinner in the restaurant. Considering we were the only people in the restaurant, our starter took over an hour to come out and the meat croquettes were still frozen in the middle so they were sent back and the chicken in the chicken curry was tough and inedible.
Disappointed with our stay.

We stayed for a city break to view Lisbon & sights, which is easy to access and navigate from this hotel- near Anjos metro station. Like other reviews; area not the best with a few homeless sleeping, they did not hassle us. This hotel was comfortable, pretty and very accommodating, coffee pods in room and bottled water in fridge. From the desk staff to the waiters and bartenders all were kind, and attentive, we requested they un-corked our wine from the local supermarket, nothing was too much trouble bent over backwards to provide great service. Situated within a walkable distance to the heart of LISBON, about 15 minutes, with the Anjos metro station only a few minutes walk from the hotel. This was our second stay at this Hotel and on our next trip to LISBON, we will definitely book our stay at the Czar LISBON Hotel again. 5 stars would be nowhere near enough to cover this Exceptional Hotel.

Average hotel with no soul in a less-than-good area

So disappointing! Firstly the location is far from pleasant, busy road, rundown and graffitti on vacant neighbouring buildings. To be honest, I was a woman travelling solo and I felt unsafe a few times walking to and from the hotel with some "savoury" characters should we say. The top end
So disappointing! Firstly the location is far from pleasant, busy road, rundown and graffitti on vacant neighbouring buildings. To be honest, I was a woman travelling solo and I felt unsafe a few times walking to and from the hotel with some "savoury" characters should we say. The top end of Santa Caterina shopping street, where the hotel is, is not a particularly pleasant area. I really wished I booked somewhere in a better area. At check-in, the room wasn't ready.
I said it felt like it had no soul, mainly as I thought the staff were not as friendly or welcoming as they could have been. That could be for many reasons but ultimately, it made it the least homely place I have stayed in in a long time. The one guy who was friendly was a guy in the kitchen with a beard and glasses-apart from that I feel an extra effort needs to be made to "lift" the atmosphere inside the hotel to give it some soul.
Room with terrace was disappointing, hardly long enough to walk around the bottom of the beds so was rather claustrophobic. The terrace I had was on the noisy street with office workers looking at you or else abandoned, dirty buildings. Not the glamour you perhaps seek in a terrace.
Decor was pretty good and the breakfast was fairly good but asides from that-I do not have much else to recommend.

Booked in March for 2 seperate arrivals June/July, emailing on the day to their head office and contact form to say I'd found a better rate would they mind matcing or I can cancel and re-book.
No response - perhaps I should have followed up, however 2 forms of communication should

Fell in love with the hotel as soon as I entered. The tranquil aroma throughout the hotel gives a relaxing vibe. Rooms are specious and modern. The colours are a spot on. An excellent selection of gluten free breakfast.
Could have easily stayed a week or longer.
