Your first point of call will be the vibrant capital city of Lisbon! Catch one of the brightly-painted yellow carriages down the city's narrow streets and you’ll discover a host of local treasures, from leafy plazas to flourishing flea markets. Further afield, the golden sands and crystal clear waters of Portugal’s beaches are bound to bring a smile to your face; Praia de Carcavelos beach is only a 30-minute train ride away! Take a riverboat down the Douro for a unique way to view the picturesque cityscape, take advantage of the growing wine culture, or head down to Oporto Cathedral - the oldest surviving structure in the city.
