This luxury adult-only beach resort had a total makeover last summer, and travellers have been giving it near-perfect reviews on Tripadvisor ever since. Staying here is all about slowing down and appreciating the finer things in life — produce is sourced from the surrounding farms, the swimming pools are blissfully kid-free, and the sleepy old-world village is a real hidden gem.

Paralos Venus Suites is a 5-star hotel that was fully renovated in 2022. The beach is 200 yards from the hotel, and the main square of the quiet traditional village of Analipsi is a few minutes' walk.
Since its full renovation in summer 2022, 100% of Tripadvisor reviewers have rated it either very good or excellent. There's a rooftop bar, two swimming pools, and a peaceful terrace, all newly done up in chic modern style. Kids aren't allowed, so you can soak up the sunshine totally undisturbed.
Dinner menus focus on Greek and Cretan specialities using sustainable produce from the surrounding farms, including lamb, honey, feta, olives, and wild greens. There's no buffet in sight here — all meals are cooked à la carte, and there's a wide menu of traditional dishes like moussaka and souvlaki alongside daily chef specials.
Analipsi is a picture-perfect village that's definitely worth exploring. Tourism developed much later here than in the neighbouring resorts, so the traditional island culture is very much alive, with locals chatting on the cobbled squares and waves lapping at the whitewashed church on the seafront. The larger town of Hersonissos is around 10 minutes away in a taxi, and the capital, Heraklion, is around 20 minutes away.
