Good Experience at the Godfrey Hollywood

I enjoyed staying at the Godfrey. The staff were attentive and answered all of your questions. The Atmosphere was calm and the rooms were adequate for my stay. the location is great for Hollywood Blvd - street with the stars. There are parties that are held on the rooftop at the weekends so be prepared for some noise. I was on the 6th Floor which is just above the Rooftop. It didn't bother me, but just so you know. Power in Room Turns Off Every 30 mins by Design

The rooms are designed to have the power turn off automatically at about every hour. If you have a medical device, want AC to run continuously at night, need light of any kind or need power or any reason while sleeping, you will be waking up hourly throughout the night. Awful and exhausting experience. A short-sighted cost saving measure that can actually be dangerous unless someone is prepared for a full camping experience while staying here/ has back up batteries, etc. I called the front desk multiple times throughout the night and no one picked up. At one point someone offered to “change my room” but acknowledged that this feature is in all rooms so I’m not sure what that would have accomplished, and they could not offer an explanation or solution. Now I understand why my colleagues avoid this hotel. Lesson learned. Would Not Stay Here Again

I stayed at the Godfrey Hotel Hollywood and it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. I went in expecting something closer to a four star stay, but it really felt more like a two and a half or maybe three at best.The room was tiny, honestly felt like a matchbox. There was also a really unpleasant smell the whole time. You know that stale hotel smell that makes it obvious a lot of other people have been through the room, and not in a good way. On top of that, there was a gross smell coming from the sink. Cleanliness was a big issue. There was a blood stain on the sheets and the towels had black stains on them, which is just not acceptable.To be fair, it was relatively quiet, which I appreciated, and when the staff did respond they were usually quick and helpful. The problem was actually getting through to the front desk. A lot of the time it took multiple tries and asking more than once to get anything done.Overall it just did not live up to what it claims to be. With better cleaning and more consistent service it could be a decent stay, but right now it falls way short of a four star hotel.
