Newly discovered hidden gem in Chicago

What a fantastic, hidden gem of a hotel just off and around the corner from Wacker Drive. Loved it and added to one of our Chicago favorites. Location super convenient. Staff here are so personable and friendly. Hampton Inn right next door both buildings tall and narrow with separate entrances. The HGI lobby area is small with a fitness center located on the lower level. Clean updated room, excellent location, and honestly, another hidden gem-within-a-hidden-gem is the lobby restaurant and bar. Loved it! We had two breakfasts and one dinner while staying there. Not normally something we would do while in Chicago but this worked our well for convenience, food quality, atmosphere and convenience. Highly recommend.

Solid no frills hotel

HGI Riverwalk is a bit of a misnomer. It’s on a side street off Michigan and Wacker Avenue. A nice location but a block away from the Riverwalk. It’s an older building but the rooms were well-maintained and reasonably spacious for a downtown hotel. There wasn’t a view of anything. There’s a restaurant in the hotel but meals aren’t included and there are better options. This was a good choice for an inexpensive room and comfortable stay for a night near business meetings.

Perfect hotel in great location for a one night work trip

Solid Hotel for a quick business trip. Rooms are dated but super clean with good amounts of amenities like towels , soap, lotions etcFront desk was very nice and helpful for me the valet ( valet desk was actually located next door at the Hampton Inn)Location of this hotel was great to get around main points in Chicago such as good restaurants , millennium park, river walk etcI even had a small view of the river and the maritime towers from my roomWill definitely stay here again Oh one note is restaurant is under construction so was not able to try the breakfast , but plenty options in the city to grab grub - Starbucks was also one block away - which was great cause it was cold in on Feb 26th :)

Stayed here for a conference at a nearby hotel. Pretty convenient location, clean and comfortable. The hotel restaurant was closed for renovations which was rough the day we arrived because we did not feel like going out. However, there are hundreds of excellent places to eat in the city! They ran out of regular coffee in the lobby one morning... So I had to settle for decaf. But I would probably stay again.
