Good value for both group stays and individual guests

After several years conducting student trips to London, I keep choosing the Royal National. A great location in a centric area and a dedicated attention, such as that from the restaurant crew and the (succulent) breakfast staff, efficiently coordinated by the experienced Mirela and Gosia, together with their care in providing both groups and individual passengers with a satisfactory experience and a very good value. While it's true the hotel needs to face an update of its climatisation systems in accordance with the changes in the climate, I keep choosing it in the overall.

Hotel in a fabulous location 10 minutes walk from Euston station. Close to shops restaurants and bars. So easy to check in. Room super clean and very spacious. We had 3 single beds. We stayed during the heatwave so it was fantastic to have water fountains by the reception. We asked for a fan as the rooms have no air conditioning it came within 20 minutes. Would stay here again. A little tip there is a shop across the road which sells water, snacks and other essential which are cheaper than the hotel

No AC, worst night!

I paid £245 for one night. Great location as I needed to go to SOAS university. However, the room looked old and similar to what you should get at a Travel lodge. The worst part was that there was no AC, I was boiling hot all night. I asked at reception if there is anything they could do, they said we could give you ice! I woke up with my face puffed up from the heat, and I hardly slept. I was exhausted the next day, and this impacted my whole day at the conference. I would never book this place again, and I would always check for AC before booking.

BE VERY WARY WHEN BOOKING THIS HOTEL.

I thought I had booked this hotel for 24/6/26 until 1/7/26 but when I checked the confirmation the dates were in 2027. I tried to correct the dates but there were no vacancies at the hotel. The hotel reception was contacted and I was told that I was unable to cancel the booking without paying the full amount, because I had not taken the free cancellation option. The booking agency, booking.com were contacted and the situation was explained. They contacted the hotel chain, Imperial Hotels who confirmed I would have to pay. I contacted the Imperial Hotels and explained that it was a mistake, I am from Australia and would not be able to use the accommodation as I would not be returning to London. My reply was that they had a policy regarding cancellation and would not waiver the policy in this instance.The hotel has charged my account the full amount, $2000+, which as a pensioner I can I'll afford. I was advised I could cancel the booking but that would give the hotel the opportunity to rebook the room and double their money.Just a warning be careful and check everything when booking with this chain as they are totally inflexible with no compassion for circumstances, at least the people I dealt with were.
