Nearly an excellent stay

We booked months ago and when we went to check in at 6pm they struggled to find a twin room for us. We eventually got room 256, which the aircon wasn't working and the room was like a sauna. They had no other rooms available that night, so we were given a fan and suffered badly with the heat. To be fair to the hotel they gave us compensation for the 1st night. For the other 2 nights we were given a room swap to room 401 which had an older style ac unit which worked perfectly. This room had an older style bathroom but was totally functionable. Breakfast was a typical HI express spread. Decent and set you up for the day. The location of the hotel was a 7min walk to both Hammersmith tube station and Ravenscourt park station. There are plenty eating places and bars within a few minutes walk. We would definitely stay again if in London. Overpriced but isn’t everywhere in London? Clean efficient comfortable room with a great breakfast. Front desk staff helpful and I live that you can open a window a small way. Air con quiet. We recently stayed at this hotel while attending a local show, and the location couldn’t have been better. It was perfectly situated and made getting to and from the event incredibly convenient.What really made our stay stand out, however, was the outstanding service we received from the gentleman who checked us in and later checked us out. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name, but he was wearing a badge that said “Employee of the Year.” After experiencing his professionalism, friendliness, and genuine willingness to help, I can completely understand why he earned that recognition.He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensured everything ran smoothly throughout our stay. We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express London Hammersmith and had a mixed but generally positive experience.The biggest advantage is the location. The hotel is within a 10-minute walk of two Tube stations, making it very convenient for exploring London. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, and grocery options nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We especially appreciated that they packed breakfast for us to take to our room when we needed to leave early.On the downside, we stayed in two different rooms (004 and 131), and the air conditioning did not work properly in either room, making them quite warm. Thankfully, the staff provided an electric fan for one of the rooms, which helped. We also found stains (old blood?🩸 ) on one of the bed sheets, which was disappointing.Overall, the excellent location and helpful staff made our stay enjoyable, but improvements to room maintenance and cleanliness would significantly enhance the guest experience.
