  An excellent hotel.

  This is an excellent hotel with a calm atmosphere and also a welcoming bar and restaurant when required. Both the management and staff go above and beyond for my comfort each time I stay here. In particular, Anees at the front desk is so professional and helpful. He always has an exemplary customer-focused attitude. This makes the whole experience an absolute pleasure. Only five minutes walk from London City Airport, the hotel makes early check-in and late arrivals very comfortable. The rooms are spacious with good natural light. High-spec bathrooms and large glass panelled walk-in showers make the experience especially rejuvenating. I highly recommend the Runway View rooms.   Avoid if you can - Hotel cancellled booking last minute without notice and lied

  Booked 4 days accomodation well in advance and then received an email note 3 days prior to the arrival from the hotel saying it's cancelled my booking, citing the fact that they tried to take the balance from my card and it was declined. Which is a load of balony as my bank (which I work for) has said there wasn't any representation of my card. Looks like I've been bumped. Phoned the hotel and spoke to 'Director of Sales" I was told) and Ms A.D who proceeded to tell me a load of information about "Marriot policy" and "this is the T&C's; you'll find them on the website" etc - which by the way, isn't on the website and isn't Marriotts T&C's.I was 'bumped'. Not a great feeling, especially as I had nothing but praise for this hotel a year ago.Phoned the @MBonvoyAssist number who managed to rebook me into another hotel, but at a greater cost to myself.A massive dissapointment; badly trained staff at the hotel and one that practises such behavior that destroys brand reputation and customer advocacy.   Excellent service from the time we checked in, room service, dinner and breakfast. Bar service was awesome and they serve Starbucks coffee.   Fantastic city hotel!

  Really, really lovely hotel. The staff is outstanding, especially Oscar, Jhasmine and Lisa. Rooms (two king rooms) were spacious, clean and comfortable. Lovely big bathroom and roomy shower. We had a club sandwich in the bar and breakfast on both days. Both were very good, with excellent choices (you can ask for different eggs to be cooked, as they only put Scrambled out). It was my friends’ 60th birthday, and ALL the staff went out of their way to help us celebrate. My friends’ bed was decorated with ‘happy birthday’, we were given an initial complimentary drink at the bar and a little food gift on the morning of her birthday. The welcome when we checked in was friendly and professional (Jhasmine), as it was with Jhasmine, when we checked out. Oscar was also lovely, welcoming us for breakfast, or simply taking time to chat with us. Lisa at breakfast, is so friendly, and helped us out with which bus to take and where from/where to get off. This hotel is a great base for a London trip, the DLR is down the road at City Airport. I will definitely return to this hotel and would definitely recommend it.   Great hotel great staff

  If you want examples of how good this hotel is here's how. Anything not working or to your satisfaction it gets sorted and I mean quick, my shower didnt seem to be working properly by the time I got from reception to the fourth floor the handy man was waiting at my door. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff and not once did I see anybody without a smile on their face. From check in to Tia who answered my most stupid questions to Adrianna on the bar who was fantastic and friendly to Sushmi who helped me with the menu and gave me a choice of seats not just the usual hotel 'here's your table', you would be hard pressed to find better staff at a elite 5 star hotel.
