Refurbishment work not advised that it's like a building site in bar and restaurant areas. Details only added to website yesterday. Not sure environmental health would be very happy with this in areas that sell food and drink.Breakfast today was not great, items not replenished quickly leading to waiting around.Most staff were pleasant.Overall very disappointed Patrick Stapleton, at AC Hotel Birmingham NEC and Airport, responded to this review Dear Steve bThank you for taking time to share your review and photos.The hotel website and on line travel agents have been updating the sites reguarly throughout the 9 months the hotel has been under refurbishment.During the 9 months the refurbishment has been happening the hotel has received an EHO rating of 5 out of 5. Shocking. Couldn't find the hotel as they have updated signage and hasn't communicated this. Genuinely walked 45 minutes when it should have been less than 10. Hotel is a building site, which again was not communicated. Breakfast was a poor offering of cereal only, which is very different to previous experience. Room was absolutely roasting despite lowering the thermostat and when this was mentioned at check out I was told that you can't control each room individually, which seems a bad set up. Will certainly not be back here - there are much better options. For future guests reading this review the external signage of the hotel will also change very soon.Again we have communicated on our website and asked on line travel agents to make guests aware of the current refurbishment programme.The hotel offers full english breakfast from 6:30am to 10am weekdays and 7am to 11am at weekends. parking whilst dropping off luggage.

Parking fine completely unreasonable .We were staying for one night before our flight so actually paid and booked ahead to park at airport carpark 5 but drove into and parked at hotel carpark to drop bags off and drove out again to park at main airport parking . Disgusting that we have now received a fine for £100 for apparently being parked for 16 minutes and not 15 minutes whilst checking in and dropping luggage in room. This is unacceptable. We parked and went straight into hotel and had to wait for receptionist to acknowledge us and check in and give room key and put luggage in room and and straight back into car and out again . The hotel didn’t even cost that much . Be warned and be prepared for £100 fine . It’s a joke and currently appealing. All you need for a short stay

Stayed here for one night when attending an event at NEC. The hotel is undergoing a big refurbishment and some of the public areas are not looking their best. The room was lovely and looked to be recently refurbished, bathroom was clean and modern. It felt a bit basic but it’s perfect for a short stay. Only issue I had was the TV not working but it wasn’t a big problem for me.Hotel is a short walk from NEC and monorail for the airport. Not the prettiest of locations but I doubt it’s the sort of hotel you visit for the scenery.Reading some of the previous reviews I think they’re a bit harsh. It’s an airport/exhibition centre hotel. I’m not exactly sure what people were expecting from it.
