  Big let down

  I’ve been looking forward to going all year. I booked this during last Mays trip to Antalya. We’re reasonably regular Turkey 🇹🇷 travellers. I have also visited Sarigerme previously where we stayed in the Tui Blue Tropical (which was excellent). We love the location, quick transfer from the airport, private mini bus on this occasion, no complaints! We arrived about 10pm, after the restaurant had closed but were offered a cheese or chicken sandwich - fine, but they were horrible, neither of the kids ate theirs. The room was beautiful (3307), swim up bit, well stocked with drinks etc as you’d expect. Then we hit a major snag. The air con wasn’t working. It was about 27 degrees in the room and sweaty. Obviously I rang for assistance which promptly arrived. The chap that came spoke little to no English and left having fiddled with the settings for 10 minutes. No explanation, nothing. I rang reception again to complain to be told they’d send an engineer in the morning. No one slept that night. Tired kids = rubbish time for dad!!! I received an apology and complimentary chocolates for our inconvenience. Not really worth the lack of sleep. Then I went to book an à la carte restaurant for the night / next day to be told they were fully booked. We were only there 4 nights!! Again I complained and was offered the Japanese for 9pm which was 45 quid per head, too late for the kids. Bah.The worst bit……. On the Thursday evening it rained. The main restaurant became so busy the food queues were intolerable. I was told it was full. No apologies but my kids didn’t eat! Absolutely deplorable. Again I complained. No contingency, embarrassing organisation and a far cry from what I had expected. I was told in reception it was a Turkish holiday and the hotel was very busy. What, so they hadn’t prepared at all for this inevitably? Why? Reception offered me a complimentary à la carte restaurant as an apology for the next day, when we were leaving so couldn’t use it. They then said I could use it next time! No thanks, I’ll not be back or recommending this place. The facilities are a bit tired too, vastly understaffed too. The sports bar had one dude running about like a lunatic, not his fault. There were good points, the pool and slides were well used by the kids (11 and 13). Snacks were canny, but unremarkable. Compared with the Tui Blue Tropical next door this place is a joke for 5 star place mind! Would I ever visit a Hilton again - nope. Ruined half term holidays for me. Thanks. I did get guest relations text messages saying the relevant management were informed but that meant nothing in real terms. All in all a poor experience, having given it large to my kids about how good it was going to be. I was a bit embarrassed frankly. Sorry not sorry.   Fabulous family holiday

  Having been to Ikos resorts which are twice the price we found the Hilton at Dalaman fantastic value for money. Clean, great service and food was incredible. The life guards and pool entertainment was brilliant. Loads of fun. Lovely people and also very professional! Saw a life guard swiftly enter the water after some concern over a small child - he was brilliant! Buffet was excellent. The Turkish ala carte was incredible. Beach bar does lovely music at 5pm. Lunches were enjoyed at Vento and Breeze - attentive service and food was top notch. Evening shows were also brilliant.   A wonderful Mediterranean Experience

  An excellent hotel with a wonderful view, food and service. At the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, widest green land with many pools and a beautiful beach with plenty of sunbathing options. The meals we had were one of the best with many different varieties. We stayed at the Lake Suits, which had the view of private pools and a wonderful cafe with snacks and drinks. Every night hotel had a show and live music. All personel spoke fluent English and were kind and always ready to serve. The hotel has all you can eat and drinks concept with three main courses and different snack options. Being near the Dalaman Airport is another advantage as it’s reachable by charter planes and regular flights from Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. I highly recommend the hotel.   This was my 8th time at the Hilton and from this visit, I could see standards slipping good points the staff are brilliant very helpful and polite accept for reception staff who don’t care and very arrogant. Food is very repetitive. We were there for 12 days family of 6. children’s meals just nuggets chips and pizza adults meals lamb casserole 6 times kebabs every day noodles every day no eggs Benedict at all for breakfast last year every other day. Also I know we are in turkey but the second week the hotel was full of Turkish the food hall was like a battle field if you didn’t go down early, you wouldn’t get no food or seats as they are reserved for Turkish people they were allowed to smoke at no smoking areas nothing said also no electrical scooters are allowed but there was plenty nothing said. The beach we visited every day over flowing bins next to sun beds from the day before all the seats last year were sun beds with mattresses and head pillows this year all mesh type ones so uncomfortable.
