The resort is located right on the most famous beach in the area, Klong Dao, and offers easy access to Saladan Pier and links to the public transport network as well as beach bars and restaurants. It is about 80 km from Krabi International Airport (about a two-hour drive), which owing to the location of the resort can be reached with the minimum of fuss. Elephant Camp, View Point, Koh Lanta Old Town and the Sea Gypsy Village can all be found in the area, and as such are easily accessible by car.

196 suites, 138 single rooms and 54 double rooms are available to guests in a 3-storey main building and a 2-storey auxiliary building. This bungalow complex has a lift and a reception desk. We stayed for a couple of nights on our way back from Koh Lanta to Patong. We do very much like Koh Lanta.This hotel is very very tired, we had an emerald suite which was absolutely NOTHING like the photos when booking. The staff are the most pleasantly rude if come across. The room although not ready when we arrived and had to wait a little while when we did get the room it was absolutely filthy. The food is terrible , the surrounds very old , I’ve stayed at better hostels and that includes Butlins.Running through the middle of the hotel is the dirty sewer stream.In the room the Aircon units are fixed to the back wall where yky sleep so the bed vibrates and they are very noisy. Definitely not worth what we paid and I would never stay again.

We booked 4 nights in a duplex room which was 2 bedrooms over 2 floors.Check in was quick and easy.When we got to our room which was on the third floor initially it looked nice and clean.So the positives first, the beds were comfy, the towels were clean and plentiful, pool towels were also in the room . The negatives of the rooms..Blown tiles on the floor, rooms look very tired , extremely noisy air con that would wake us up several times a night. The showers are painted a horrible green colour and the shower was dangerous, the existing shower had been replaced with what looked like a makeshift electric shower with wires exposed within the water zone.The plug in the sink was broken.The electric plugs and light switches are very old .No iron in room.The fake grass throughout the facility is awful and gives it an extremely cheap looking finish and clearly covers up numerous issues such as tree roots, uneven floor and multiple trip hazards, the pathways are very dangerous with flagstones broken and very uneven.This hotel is not suitable for disabled guests.The sewage smell around the resort is awful, there is one part that has a bridge that is all pretty with lights but underneath there may have been a stream which now is either a stagnant water area or a sewage outlet which they have covered over with some sort of green panels to hide it but unfortunately it doesn't hide the smell.The pool area and pool are kept nice but again in some areas the AC is very loud so not relaxing.We only had breakfast which was fine, but the tables aren't cleaned properly and the doors/ windows are filthy, in one part of the seating area they pile the dirty dishes up on a bar which looks and smells awful.Staff were pleasant but looked worn out and had lost the drive to serve.The beach this hotel is on is beautiful, it's where we spent everyday and evening.This hotel needs extensive renovation before it can call itself 5 star, in it's current state it is no more than 2 /3 star

A pleasant surprise despite mixed reviews

We arrived at Chada Lanta Beach Resort with some hesitation after reading several negative reviews, but I can confidently say my concerns did not reflect our actual experience. Unless you are expecting a polished, luxury five-star resort, you are unlikely to be disappointed.While some areas of the property do show signs of aging, this never affected our comfort or enjoyment. We had no complaints about the facilities, and both the overall resort and our room were clean and well maintained throughout our stay. Our Emerald Room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely large balcony that we really appreciated.The beach in front of the resort is amazing, and there were plenty of loungers available both around the pools and along the beach, so finding a spot to relax was never an issue. The beach restaurant was slightly on the pricey side, but there are many nice dining options within walking distance along the beach. Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of choices, and the service we received during our stay was consistently friendly and attentive.If you are looking for a resort-style hotel with large pools on Koh Lanta, I would still recommend Chada Lanta Beach Resort despite its current low ranking on TripAdvisor. For us, it was a genuinely pleasant stay and a nice surprise.
