  Excellent hotel

  Great value hotel. Very convenient to metro and main attractions. Rooms small but have everything you need. Extremely clean and bed very comfortable.Staff very welcoming and informative.Located up a steep hill with a few small convenience stores and lovely coffee shops just across from the hotel. Highly recommend 🙂

  This hotel is located in the Lisbon downtown, near to the major city attractin and it is closer to metro station (about 300 metres). Therefore, it is suitable for a trip visit of Portugal capital. The room was clean and with all necessary comfort, including air conditioner, wi-fi, mini bar and big screen television.The hotel staff, fluent in both English and Italian languages, was very proficient and kind in providing required information.The breakfast, is complete and adequate for the hotel category.

  Was staying for 4 nights in May. Excellent experience. Nice and great service by English speaking Manager Tiago. Would recommend this hotel with personal touch boutique attention. He referred us to the Lisbon iconic places, showed on the map, provided us with a lot of important information, etc.

  Worth the price!

  We had the pleasure of staying in this lovely hotel as a family of 3.The reviews mentioned the rooms to be small which made me doubt if i should book this hotel. Luckily, i trusted my guts and just went with it. Room is a decent size, considering we had a baby bed in the room. Bed is comfortable, pillows are nice. AC worked perfectly.Location is up in the hills which was a challenge sometimes, but very close to the main spots. We didn't mind walking, so it being up in the hill was not a big deal. Everything is within walking distance. Staff were amazing, every single one of them. They even gave us a detailed itinerary. We love how honest the receptionist was by telling us about the breakfast. According to him, if we love hot food, better not take it. So we can't comment on the breakfast because we didn't have it. I would like to thank Hotel Botanico for contributing to our wonderful trip and would definitely go back to this hotel if i will get a chance to come back to Lisbon !

  No frills and torture beds!

  Beautiful view from the 5th floor. Strong wifi and AC. Tiago at reception is very professional and pleasant. See him for any city recommendations or advice. A nice ambassador for the hotel.Very basic and VERY small rooms. The beds are horrendously uncomfortable and our backs are still in agony more than a week later. We asked to change rooms while we were there but were told that “all beds are the same”. Pillows are also super cheap and paper thin. No tea kettles or coffee machines in the room, no cups (not even paper or plastic cups to have a drink of tap water), no bars of soap to wash your hands (need to use the shower gel), no iron, no face clothes, no Kleenex, no fan in bathroom…Not even a Do Not Disturb sign to place on your door to decline housekeeping. In fairness, none of these items were specifically mentioned to be included at the time of booking, but you would think for the price, and in the year 2022, that they would be a standard in any property that proclaims to be a “hotel”. This place is more like a highway truckers inn or hostel, although even many of those places are better stocked.Unfortunately, as friendly as Tiago is, I cannot recommend this property. Spend a little bit more money on a real hotel and you will save in the long run from having to buy all the bare necessities yourself at the local mini-mart, and from having to see a chiropractor when you get home.
