  A lovely hotel with great staff

  Fabulous staff in an idealy located hotel. The hotel rooms are nice and clean, well equipped and all the staff were most helpful. It was a delight to stay there as it is so well located for all parts of the city. We were a group of six mature adults on a short city break.   Great Central Hotel in Lisbon

  Great hotel right in the centre of where most of the tourist attractions and great restaurants of Lisbon can be found or close by public transport or taxi’s, especially useful if you experience 4 days of indifferent weather of sunshine and big rain showers.The rooms are immaculately clean and air conditioned but quite small. However, I’d suggest there’s so much to see you don’t really spend that much time in your room as you’re out and about enjoying what the city has to offer.The reception staff were friendly and attentive and recognised immediately at nearly 2m tall that I might struggle with a low ceiling in the room that was situated on the top floor. This proved to be the case and for the rest of our stay moved us to a better room at the front of the hotel that had the original high ceiling.There is a nice and very comfortable lounge/bar area and the breakfast restaurant is nicely positioned to watch the world go by as you eat your breakfast.There’s loads of choice at breakfast from cereals, delicious fruits and yoghurts, eggs, bacon, sausage, cold meats, cheeses, lovely breads, pastries and cakes, fresh juices and coffees etc, etc, and the staff in their were very attentive and charming.We’re looking to bring our grown-up sons and their partners to Lisbon for a family holiday and we’d definitely head back here. behotelisboa theplacetobe, Serviços ao cliente/atendimento at behotelisboa, responded to this review Dear Guest, first of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay at our hotel.   Be Careful if You Need a Twin Room

  Four of us have just returned from a three-night stay at this hotel. My friend and I (both men) had booked a twin room as opposed to a double. On arrival, we were told that there was no twin room available, only a small double which could not accommodate any other sleeping arrangement except the two of us sleeping in the same bed. When we challenged this, we were advised that if you book through a third party (in our case lastminute.com) the hotel will not necessarily honour the booking. We did not consider that when asking for a twin rather than a double, this was in any way out of the ordinary, so were very disappointed. The manager was called and could offer us only a change of room for the second and third nights. There was no flexibility or much customer care. So be aware that the hotel may not honour your booking if you have used a third party site. However, as we verified at the time you checked in, your booking confirmation included a request for a double/queen bed, which was granted. If you show us another intention at the time of your arrival, unfortunately it may not be possible to fulfil your expectations. However, we promptly came up with a solution to meet your needs as we strive for the satisfaction of our guests, we just could not offer you a third room free of charge as you requested.   This hotel is my first one that I could not mention any thing that would make me uncomfortable or upset. It locates in the center of old city. Restaurants, shops, transportation, and the historic places are all in the walking distance. It is the first hotel that I would sing the praises to the receptionists. There are so knowledgeable, welcoming, supportive, respectful, and professional. Room was clean and warm. Breakfast was good.   Excellent hotel in a great location

  Very clean and friendly hotel. Staff were helpful and informative and spoke excellent English. The room was on the smaller side but adequate for my needs. The room was perfectly clean and the shower products provided were nice. The bed was a little firm for my liking but wasn’t terrible. This hotel is ideally situated for exploring Lisbon with the main shopping street a few yards away.
