  Disappointing get away

  This was a make up trip from our canceled Cuban vacation in February, since i was turning 50 in june we Decided to try this resort, as we visit the bahia property every October. And didn't want to go to the same resort twice in the same year . So not our first time going to a Mexican resort during low season. Let's start with the good. Pick up at the airport was very good, there was only one other couple, so we went straight to the resort from the airport. Check in was ok, but the other couple had to wait for us to be done as there was only one person working front desk, we arrived around 10 pm. We were then taken to our premium room. We got a room on the 5th floor,ocean view, full fridge,huge jetted tub and a separate shower in the bathroom, very clean. We were able to book 3 à la carte and 2 excursions the following morning after we got back from breakfast buffet, it was around 9 am. The grounds are beautiful, and most of the workers are amazing. Had many good margaritas. Klay talay was the best restaurant at this resort by a ling shot, and we had the opportunity to eat there 3 times. The excursion to Maroma beach is totally worth it. Even if you don't take the catamaran, the beach is beautiful and the beach club cocotales buffet is amazing, best food we had all week except for klay talay. The cenote excursion is nice, but the cave is very hot, and its pretty boring, the cenote is beautiful and very refreshing after the hot boring caves. Now for the meh. cullinarium. It was sit down breakfast, but wasn't anything fancy, Had dinner one evening, don't even remember what we had. no salt or pepper on table, ANYWHERE. The food was disappointing, most restaurants food had no seasoning, or wasn't served what was described on the menu. The drinks were ok, the liquor quality was terrible for a 5 star resort, jose cuervo is garbage tequila and top selection at this resort. The mescalito bar has a great menu, but i had 7 different drinks one night and it didn't even have any effect, so watered down. The beach is small, and not very deep, we were able to swim in the ocean for our last 2 days. Room service wasn't very good, but it wasn't terrible, quesadillas were the better option, the club sandwich should just be called mystery sandwich. For the terrible Upon check in, they asked if we wanted to upgrade to oceanview for an extra 150 dollars US. Since we had already spent 5000 on a 7 days stay, we declined the upgrade. We got a room on the 5th floor of the 6 story building! Restaurants are only open on certain days and certain times. It was a huge disappointment, we spent 7 days there and because we had an excursion on Tuesday, we never even got to try the pub. Thats absurd. It was always closed. Menus are very limited compared to menus online. Seaside market buffetThe Italian a la carte was bad. Had the steak, the quality and cook was ok but no seasoning, The buffer was comparable to a cuban buffet. All the restaurants menus online are not what is offered at the restaurants, so don't count on the app for any actual information on the food or entertainment. We were looking forward to the Michael Jackson tribute on Thursday night, only for it to be switched out with some other crappy night entertainment. This was the only resort where we didn't go to one show. Finally the piles of rotting sargassum by the driftwood restaurant is absolutely disgusting. I have zero issues with sargassum, its the season, but to just leave it in the shore to rot, right next to an oceanfront restaurant, is absolutely not acceptable. It was never removed from in front of the driftwood for our stay there. They moved the Mexican to the driftwood , yes and that was the worst Mexican food I've ever experienced, As we had a 4:55 pickuo time for our return trip, we asked for a late check out, but were declined, resort at 30 percent occupancy. Many people say because it's low season, selection is more limited, but having an outside buffet as the ONLY dinner option one evening, we felt very underwhelmed, thank goodness we had the opportunity to see a concierge person and got a seat at klay talay. Being asked every time we went to cullinarium for breakfast if I wanted a massage or spa, by the same person for 6 days. The lomas drivers are terrible, the only driver that wasn't terrible was the guy driving the bigger bus that took us to maroma beach Overall, we do extensive research before booking any vacation and we paid good money for this vacation, and feel the price to quality ratio isn't there, by a long shot. I would never recommend or return to this resort.   Amazing experience.

  We absolutely loved our time at El Dorado Seaside Palms. This was our second stay and we intend to bring our adult children next time. The rooms are spacious and clean. The resort is well maintained and very spread out so it never feels crowded. There are quiet areas and more "party pools" if that is what you're looking for. There is something for everyone. The food was great and we enjoyed the variety of restaurants. The daiquiris are the BEST! I still dream about throwing my snorkel gear on and heading out to the reef to snorkel a stone's throw from our room.   Beware food undercooked and poor quality.

  My husband and I stayed in El Dorado Seaside in the premium section. This was our third time here. We love the staff and we love the size of the resort as we enjoy walking in the grounds. It is well maintained and beautiful. However, this was one of the worst trips we’vehad. The food was undercooked. The bacon at the breakfast buffet was being heavily guarded, and you had to wait in line to ask for bacon. I ended up sick two times on this trip and really was not able to enjoy the trip. I’m really not sure what the difference is in the premium section as we did not once hear from the concierge, we did not have our room turned over at night and there wasn’t really anything special. We even told them that it was our anniversary trip. We’ve been to some pretty upscale resorts. the reason why we chose this one was just because it was a great deal and we did have two really great visits before. But we will never return to this resort ever again.   As we have never done all inclusive before we weren't really sure what to expect. I can only say amazing things about this place, our room was fab sea view, restaurants all amazing but MiaCasa (by seaside market) was by far our favourite. Cocktails etc just flowed all day. Have no bad things at all to say tge staff are amazing and work so hard ! Wouldnt hesitate to go back.   El Dorado Seaside Palms - Never a 5 Star

  This resort is portrayed and sold as a 5 Star TUI Blue Flagship. You will be disappointed if you believe that, 3 Star - at best. We have been to many 5 Star Hotels with TUI, all fine over the years but this was the poorest quality we have experienced. Room was meant to be an upgrade as I had requested a low floor. If this suite was an upgrade then I hate to think what the other was like. Room: Very tired with many damaged fixtures and fittings. Mouldy and filthy beds. Broken marble tops to furniture with sharp edges. Broken tiles on stairs to split level sleeping area No overhead light in seating area. Broken glass on coffee table along with unsightly rings from glasses. Broken marble lamp table, turning round no use as damaged on other side too. Outside room: Immediate walkway with very many broken and damaged tiles, more broken than not. This led to a Filthy path that had not been cleared in many a long time. Pool area: Dirty and cracked or chipped tiles that were never cleaned. Tables in the area were not cleaned down overnight. Broken and damaged tiles and fittings in shower areas. Two large pieces of pool flooring was damaged and had sharp edges. Cleaning staff in this area were observed emptying sanitary bin barehanded into a plastic bag. Worse, they then proceeded to clean the sink area without washing hands. Bars & Restaurants: “The Bar” Guacamayas, considered the main bar area had Four (4) tables each with Two (2) seats. That’s it, the remaining seating was on rope swings - hardly suitable for elderly guests. Some of the facilities were not open during our 14 night stay. The “Clay Talay” ($25 pp supplement) was very ordinary with no uplift in the food quality or menu options to justify a surcharge. Service was very slow. “cullinariam” restaurant was meant to serve both A La Carte Breakfast and Dinner - not open for breakfast. Beach: Most of the length of the hotel is separated from the sea by a wall with warning signs not to cross for safety reasons. The beach area at a far end was not useable due to bulldozers clearing rotting seaweed- so much for the crystal blue waters advertised. The beach bar and BBQ restaurant at this location - closed. All in all a very poor show from El Dorado and TUI If it is 5 Stars you want, you won’t find it here!
