  Location was good! Atmosphere was ok! Rooms are very run down. The bathroom had an odour. Mirror needs to be replaced. Bathroom vanity was very old. Toilet took forever to refill. Beds were very hard woke up with a sore back. Not enough blankets on the bed. Pillows covers and mattress cover were plastic. It did have a fridge and we were given one large bottle of water day. Drinks were watered down. Food was terrible. Beach chairs were worn out. Not worth the money.   DO NOT GO! Not a relaxing or good vacation at all. I am generously giving two dots because Patricio and Enrique were lovely and made an effort. This hotel was NOT what we expected. The trip was advertised as Puerto Vallarta. Decameron La Marina is NOT in Puerto Vallarta. It is well over an hour drive from Puerto Vallarta, if you pay the bus service to take the toll highway you can get to the resort in 45 minutes. This is what we did as it was backed up on the regular highway and it was going to take 2 1/2 hours to get to the resort. The resort was full of weekend families when we arrived on March 16- three busloads on the Friday before we arrived and three the Friday we were there- from other Mexican provinces that were so noisy and disruptive. The noise level was so loud we could not sleep. We could not use the pool as it was completely full from 9 AM to 7 PM with screaming children in both pools. We had to be at the beach no later than 5:30 AM in order to get a chair on the beach. Most staff would not speak English. All signs were only in Spanish. We could not participate in any activities because everything was in Spanish - all instructions, all music and all of the karaoke - except for “yoga” as there is no translation apparently- were in Spanish. How unwelcoming to guests from other countries. We could not get onto the app to book à la cart at the other two resorts. We somehow managed to get an à la cart at La Marina at the front desk, and it was the only night it was open, in the seven days we were there. The food was not good quality, always tacos and fajitas, and we had to lineup to get into the Buffet- and the server came out and spoke only Spanish to everyone to see if they wanted to sit on the patio but did not speak with us or send out someone to speak to us. When we did manage to get inside, there was hardly any food left. We were lined up at the pasta bar and they ran out of pasta. We asked a number of times if they were going to cook anymore, but the people just stared at us and didn't answer in English or Spanish. The beach area should be roped off at the property line to stop the incessant onslaught of beach vendors, continually harassing every single person on a beach chair. Every five minutes. That is not an exaggeration. They stand over you and continue to harass you on the Wyndham property. We should also be warned when coming to this resort that it is a very public beach that fills up with rented tables, chairs, umbrellas, tents, barbecues, and vendors selling inflatables and every knickknack and food item directly in front of this resort,and all the way as far as you can see, so thick that you cannot even get to the water. You cannot see the water and you cannot get to the water because of how many people are on this beach. I have never been so disappointed in my vacation. Second time in Mexico hoping it would be better than Cancun but it’s not! Will not go back. Literally makes me miss the people and food in Cuba. They don’t have a lot in Cuba, but they sure do have respect and kindness, and do their very best with what they have.   Nothing Like other All-inclusives

  This is a honest review by a foreigner. While the Marina is great place for Mexican nationals it was not suitable for us. We do not speak Spanish and everything was in Spanish and rightfully so. The hotel was LOUD. Very very loud. The only blessing was that the pool closed at 7 and the "entertainment" ended by 1030 pm. If you were luck to to fall asleep before 11pm you may not have heard the cleaning crew moving furniture all night. Ear plugs would have been nice to remember. The food was meh. If you were late to the buffet it was not good, lots of empty or cold dishes. The breakfast was always great, fresh fruit and great egg dishes. We only had lunch a few times in our 2 weeks. So many amazing restaurants in Rincón de Guayabitos. Explore. The room was comfortable, bed and pillows had a plastic covers, ugh. Maintenance was very fast and housekeeping was on spot. As I mentioned the "entertainment", which was mostly karaoke ?? ??. Was LOUD and in Spanish. If you need to do an All-inclusive in Rincón de Guayabitos I would try the Decameron Los Cocos. It is spread out and you may find a quiet spot or a spot in the pool. The all-inclusives in RDG are nothing like all-inclusives in other parts of Mexico. If you need a clean room for 1 to 2 weeks, bring earplugs and pesos , then explore the beautiful Jaltemba Bay area.
