  Beautiful Gardens

  Wonderful and beautiful gardens and convenient. There are four restaurants I believe and each accessible for breakfast if you staying at either Otani Hotels. The staff are very nice and friendly and most speak English. I did not stay here but was attending a high level ocean summit and I must say, the hotel did deliver on catering and services. And the gardens are just amazing to view. Access to the hotels are doable from any entry and you can easily exit to Akasaka or other nearby places from within the Otani Hotel. If you cannot afford to stay here, like me and wondering how to get to this hotel - there are cheaper places nearby and you can easily access Hotel New Otani. Japan has made access easier and there are crossings under the high way for those that prefer to walk. The most convenient I have seen in any city.

  Stayed here for 6 nights and enjoyed our stay. Definitely has the feel of a large Vegas hotel, so take that for what it's worth. Between the Main and Garden towers, this is a VERY large property. There are 36 restaurants and over 100 stores among the two hotels. This offers a lot of convenience and the feel of a very large resort hotel. The hotel also has a beautiful Japanese garden on its property. It is lush and lovely to walk through. If you're able to get a room looking out onto it, it's very nice, and it's nice to eat in the Garden restaurant that overlooks it. There are actually multiple restaurants that have a view of the garden. Our Deluxe king room was very large with a wall of windows and a large sitting area with chaise lounge, table, and two chairs. The wall of windows is nice, especially at night, but since we faced East (with a rose garden view), it is uncomfortably warm in the morning as the sun rises (even with the blackout curtains). By 6am, it was unbearably warm in our room in June even with AC set at 19 C. (The rooms facing West have the opposite problem in the afternoon.) The bathroom is very big with nice sink area, tub, and separate shower (and toilet with bidet, of course). Furniture and appointments have the feel of a Vegas hotel, kind of generic upscale. They keep the room very clean and neat with regular cleaning and evening turn down service. They also offer in-room pajamas, robes, and slippers. As usual, staff is helpful and very friendly with most speaking some English. The location is great in the Akasaka area, near the Imperial Palace and many shops and restaurants in Akasaka. Definitely a less crowded area than Shinjuku or Shibuya. There's also a train station just down the street from the Garden tower of the hotel. If you stay in the Main, you walk through the attached garden tower to easily get to the train without walking around the whole property as we mistakenly did the first day (pro tip: put the Garden hotel as your hotel when getting train directions around the city). For central Tokyo, a room this size in a hotel with this many amenities for $390/night seemed reasonable (though we did not appreciate them increasing our final night to $725 because our flight was canceled due to the typhoon and we had to suddenly add a night... seemed they had a lot of availability and took advantage of our desperation). We ate at a few different restaurants in the hotel during our stay and they were pretty good but you're definitely paying Tokyo central prices. Trader Vic's has some excellent (strong) drinks and especially reasonable prices at happy hour. The breakfast buffet in the Garden restaurant is pretty pricy at 6000Y. I found the quality and selection to be mediocre, especially at that price, though the view is hard to beat. Many days we just opted for the bakery/coffee shop across the street from the garden tower at much more reasonable prices. There is also a coffee shop in the hotel that we didn't go to because it opened late on weekends. The buffet in the Sky restaurant at the top of the hotel with a 360 view is decent. It was $90/person and I also wasn't too impressed with the quality/selection at that price, but the freshly made nigiri was very good, as were the desserts. And the view is hard to beat as the sun sets and you get to see nighttime Tokyo. We saw Mt. Fuji though would be better on a clearer day.

  Massive hotel premises , staff very welcoming

  What a maze! I was so tired and just wanted to get something to eat and not be prepared to walk and hit floors and escalators and and.. not what I expected. My room was blah, no coffee pod type machine and no walk in shower. Whilst packing I found a dead insect on my bed so called house keeping. Mr Akita came right away and took it and offered for me to change rooms but that late at night and all it was not ideal. He came back and offered me a room to sleep in which I took since I was not comfortable sleeping on that bed. That room was a nice upgrade! Wonder why they didn’t give that to me initially with my being a top tier I prefer member.It was great that the Airport Limousine Bus picks you up right at this location. That was convenient.

  Lovely hotel complex in the heart of Tokyo, quiet yet very convenient

  A lovely hotel with extensive beautifully managed garden space. Location is actually quiet in comparison to Shinjuku/Shibuya. Buffet Breakfast available on the 40th Floor of the Garden Tower with great views, especially over the Palace garden area. Triple room was very spacious (40m2) and with everything you may need. The hotel complex has multiple restaurants and shops but you are still quite close to restaurants in 5 minutes walk at Asakusa (go to roads around Esplanade Asakusa).The garden area is also used for Wedding Photos, particularly during the blossom season.All staff extremely polite and helpful.This hotel is on extremely large sloping plot with the lobby area in fact on the 6th floor of the Garden Towe area (check the link to the PDF of the map). This can be a bit confusing. If you are arriving in Japan for the first time at Tokyo, I would highly recommend this hotel which is a great start as the gardens bring out the best in Japan (plants, fish, waterfall), many restaurant food options both in and out of the hotel, great Buffet Breakfast with great views wither from the 40th floor or of the Garden (floor 7/lobby), your not in an overly busy area but very close to usefully well connected metro stations, with key attractions fairly close

  A maze of a complex

  Very helpful staff and even though the standard room was quite cramped, it was comfortable. This hotel seems to cater to big groups, and there was a lot of public space to accommodate them. The check in however took an hour from joining a fairly short queue to getting the key card. It’s not that close to the metro stops and you have to navigate a lot of corridors to get outside. Everywhere just seemed far.
