  Perfect Place to Stay!

  The staff was incredible. They helped us so much from luggage transfers to helping us find yummy places to eat. We had a mix up with our travel group, which hotel we were going to next, the staff caught this and adjusted that for us, otherwise our luggage would have been in the wrong place. The buffets were delicious, the rooms comfortable and clean. Just a note, the rooms are fairly small, fine for a couple but might be cramped if sharing with a friend.   Once in a life time trip to Japan

  The location of this hotel is great as it is just across the road from a huge train station. The welcome at the hotel was great with cases being taken to our room by the porter. The reception staff were friendly and explained everything fully. The upgraded room i organised before we got there was ready and was an excellent choice to upgrade to a city view room, you will not be disappointed. The rooms and bathrooms have absolutely everything you could need so we were able to pack a lighter bag for this trip. The hotel was good value for money and we made use of the convenience store on the ground floor for the fantastic egg sandwiches everyone raves about.The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and it was very quiet . the staff were all so helpful and I loved the robot in the restaurant. The only thing for us was the opening time of the restaurant for breakfast and the queue left us rushing around and only being able to grab a quick croissant and coffee on the first day. The second day we had plenty of time but did not find much we liked to eat, but this was personal preference. We would definitely go to this hotel again. 5* from us.   I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro (ホテルメトロポリタン) and would absolutely return.The location is fantastic — tucked slightly away from the busiest streets of Ikebukuro, yet incredibly convenient. It feels safe and secure, especially being right next to a police station, and just a short walk to the subway. There are multiple convenience stores right around the corner, including 7‑Eleven, Lawson, and FamilyMart, which made grabbing snacks or essentials effortless. Despite being so centrally located, the hotel itself was peaceful and quiet — something I truly appreciated after long days out exploring.My room on the 7th floor was recently renovated, clean, and very cozy. I loved the thoughtful touches, such as complimentary bottled water in the fridge and a humidifier in the room — small details that made a big difference in comfort.What truly made this stay exceptional, however, was the staff. They deserve a 10/10 rating. Every team member I encountered was incredibly thoughtful, courteous, and genuinely warm. They assisted with my luggage, greeted me kindly each time, and always seemed one step ahead in anticipating guests’ needs. Their hospitality elevated the entire experience.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Tokyo and will definitely be returning on my next trip.   Hotel in the heart of Ikebukuro with perfect access for exploring Tokyo.

  Located in the heart of Ikebukuro which is great for exploring Tokyo. It takes ~1hr to get to the hotel by taxi from the airport, but the train is also a great option if you’d like to do this as the Ikebukuro station is less than a 5 minute walk away. The breakfast here is great, it offers Chinese, Japanese, western and American buffet options for ¥3,500 / £17 (Adult) or ¥1,200 / £5.75 (Child) so is very affordable and excellent value. The rooms are spacious and modern, with standard amenities. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend to others looking for a stay in Tokyo.   Meh...Not a true 4 star Hotel.

  Biggest Inconvenience: NO OUTLET and NO LAMP on one side of the queen bed. I had to request an extension cord and a lamp. This is a 4 STAR HOTEL, the least they can do is set up the lamp with an extension cord. I am sure I am not the only one that find this very ANNOYING. As many people do, I like to lie in bed and check through my messages before going to sleep & keep my phone charging overnight after taking pictures the whole day, but I can’t do that if the plug outlet is on the other side of the room and especially when my partner need to plug in her sleep apnea machine. Other Cons:Space is so limited, that the night stand had to be shoved inside the closet.There is lot of noise and commotion everywhere in the hotel (lobby, elevator, hallway). You will find a lot of group tour and their luggage in the lobby area. Restaurant in the lobby & venues for conferences and wedding invites a lot of non guest to the hotel. Elevator is always busy. If you prefer something quiet this is not the hotel. Hotel and furniture is dated.Not the most convenient. Although it is near the station, the hotel is on the west side of the station. There is a lot of convenience store and one department around but the primary shopping/anime and Sunshine Mall are located on the east side of Ikebukuro station. It will (give and take) a 15 minutes walk to reach the hustle and bustle of Ikebukuro where one find Bic Camera, anime, claw machines, main street fashion brand and etc. PROS:Airport and Gotemba Premium Outlets Limousine bus stop.Staffs were nice.Room was not too small. Self Laundry machine.Bottom Line.If I can pick again I would pick the east side of Ikebukuro station.
