  The hotel is very nice, in a good location. It's quiet and peaceful in the evenings. The rooms are comfortable, and the service is very good.   Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The hotel is exquisite from beautiful, modern rooms to a gorgeous atrium lobby with floor to ceiling windows that look out onto lush greens. They were so welcoming at check-in, with tea and warm towels offered. The rooms are spacious, clean, with big bathrooms with separate sink, shower/bath, and toilet areas. The beds were very comfortable, and our window looked out onto the city/mountains. The staff is incredible. So friendly and helpful, and most speak English. Helped us book dinner for a group of 10 (which is no small feat in Kyoto). The breakfast buffet is SO good. Strong recommendation for 4400Y (~$27). High quality, lovely presentation, and great selection of Japanese and Western options (including drip coffee!). Also nice that it opens at 6:30am for those of us with jet lag after the US flight. Room service was reasonably priced, too. Ordered noodles and tempura shrimp for around $18. It's also nice that Japan is a no-tip country. Makes so many interactions much clearer and more comfortable. The hotel also has a lovely public bath and sauna for those interested. The location is great in a popular neighborhood with a lot of nearby attractions (recommendation for the Maruyama park and temples a short walk away), restaurants, and stores. And though Kyoto is a large city, the hotel feels tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Really felt like best of both worlds with a very popular area right across the river, too.   Perfect location and amenities!

  This hotel was aboslutely perfect in terms of location, amenities, and staff friendliness. The rooms are a tad small, but let's be honest: does it matter when all you do in the room is relax/sleep? The walking distance to Gion, Maiko activities, and tea cermonies/shops was measured in minutes: you can walk to everything from here other than the northern shrines and Arashiyama (skip the "bamboo forest" i.e. "Intagram Alley"). A 5 minute walk from the hotel gets you nearly anything, including convenience stores and ATM machines.   We loved this hotel. The location is great and the service was outstanding. We had an Executive Twin which was a good size but I heard that the standard room could be small. Our room had lots of storage space and was very well designed. They have a happy hour from 4-6PM that is for guests only and was a great way to meet other guests.   Fantastic Escape in Kyoto!

  We loved this hotel. It offered a peaceful retreat from the busier areas of Kyoto while still being conveniently walkable to all the key sights. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast was exceptional.
