  Beautiful Hotel with Great Staffs

  Roku Kyoto Hotel gave us one of the best hotel-staying experience. The hotel itself is really beautiful, especially at night. Everyone is well trained and warm. We feel good about every moment at the hotel, from check-in process, to Tenjin (the onsite restaurant and bar), the hot spring pool and poolside sauna, the nearby Japanese garden that’s free for hotel guests, and concierge service that made reservations for us at two nearby Japanese restaurants. Kinkaku-ji is within walking distance. It took about 14 minutes one way. Walking there through small roads that only locals take is a serene and authentic Japanese experience.The hotel also offers luggage forwarding service at fairly reasonable rates. The staff even contacted the receiving hotel to make sure our luggage could be properly accepted and kept because our check-in date at that hotel was six days away. At checkout, we were grateful that Victoria happily processed our painstakingly complex credit card payment request without complaint. Victoria and every other staff we were in contact with at the hotel display what hospitality is.   The staff is amazing. The room was wonderful. Truly 10/10 experience. The food on site was traditional and delicious. The massage was the best hotel massage I have ever had. Located in the quiet Takagamine area, you feel completely removed from the city's crowds, yet you’re still within a 10-minute stroll of the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji).The Private Onsen Experience I stayed in a ground-floor room featuring a private garden and onsen. The design is striking—the stone tub and the flow of natural hot spring water provide a level of privacy and relaxation that is hard to find in a standard hotel setting. It turns the room into a personal spa.Winter Wellness The wellness facilities here are top-tier. The outdoor thermal pool is open year-round, and experiencing it during the winter was unforgettable. Watching the snow fall while submerged in the warmth of the natural spring water is a core memory of the trip.
