This hotel is maybe 50 steps from the subway, modern, large rooms and spotless! Hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. For the price and location this is a great hotel to base your travels out of! Wonderful spot. Kitty corner to Imperial Palace and Gardens, at a metro stop, good breakfast, friendly staff, large room, tasteful gift shop, tastefull decor... we have stayed in many places in Japan. Pleasant and functional

    rating13 Apr 2026

This is like many Japanese hotels functional and pleasant. Staff on reception varied from lovely to ok. Downstairs breakfast was average and evening meal was fine but completely chaotic in delivery. We'd finished our main and side dishes when they brought the fried rice out! It is however, well located by the subway and the Imperial Palace. Rooms were good. Keren Miers, General Manager at Noku Kyoto, responded to this review Dear 500blairb,Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your stay at Noku Kyoto in April. Your feedback has been shared with our team, and we have already made some key improvements in our service based on your comments.Thank you and best regards,KerenGeneral Manager

    KYOTO AT ITS FINEST!!

    rating31 Mar 2026

What a gem of a Hotel. Located in a modern small block the rooms are fantastic with quality Japanese woodwork including screens etc. The position in Kyoto makes it easy to get around either on the Metro or better still by bus. The reception staff are always happy to point you in the right direction with the bus numbers, most of which are just outside the hotel....we really enjoyed the breakfast...there was plenty of selection of foods and fruits!! We met the Hotel Director Keren and the Food & Beverage Director Makiko san. They are a couple and work together very well. Makiko runs the breakfast service with great attention to detail, ensuring that nothing is out of place and all the plates are kept full.. a great effort by her!!! The hotel has, in the basement, a Singapore/Chinese fusion restaurant also overseen by Makiko. We were well served by Luis at the bar and Rioko who looked after our table. We ate there twice and the food is very, very good indeed. In fact all the young people working in the hotel, the reception etc were well trained, a compliment to the Director Keren. Well worth going there when staying at the hotel. Often a hotel is let down by the quality of housekeeping....NOT this one. Our room was kept very clean with a towel change every day. Kyoto is a more laid back city compared to Tokyo and after a week in the crazy world of the great metropolis a change was most welcome..all in all the Hotel is a Porscheboy approved place to stay. Keren Miers, General Manager at Noku Kyoto, responded to this review Dear Porscheboy,Warm greetings from Kyoto, Japan! Thank you so much for your glowing review of your stay with us at Noku Kyoto. The Noku team are thrilled with your very kind words, especially those who you have kindly highlighted. It was our great pleasure to host you and your wife while you visited Kyoto, and we all hope that you can both make it back here again one day soon. All the very best to you from the Noku Family!

Stayed at Noku Hotel for my Kyoto Marathon.

    rating21 Feb 2026

This is my second time staying at Noku Hotel. First time was in 2019, both times I stayed at Noku Hotel because it was convenient for me after completing my Kyoto Marathon or when I travelled out to Lake Biwa/Sunshine Beach for the Parkrun. They have a carpark, as in all places, space is a constraint so do let the hotel know if you wanna park at their place.Front desk is really helpful to give me directions to where I want to go and I am most grateful.Thank you Noku for letting me stay, see you when I see you.Room was spacious and clean.Private and quiet. There’s a Sukiya, drinking place and other eateries that caters to all ages and tastes. Family Mart is just beside the hotel.Key card operated lift to the floors of my room. It’s less than 5 minutes walk from the subway and the bus stop to Kyoto BAL was also within walking distance. The variety of choices of food for breakfast at Jia Wei was fantastic from the thickly sliced bacon which I mixed into the warm porridge to the matcha latte was delicious.Noteworthy too was the Singaporean and Japanese fusion dinner menu that Jia Wei restaurant served, Thank you, Keren, Makiko and Team Noku Hotel for the unforgettable hospitality and services.Housekeeping Team paid attention to details. My bed was made daily, with daily refills of the special blend coffee bean ryunosuke maeda’s drip coffee and snacks. The yuzu bath salt was a great soak in the clean bath tub.
