Brand new hotel, very clean. Okay sized rooms. Twin bed rooms readily available. Lobby is very chic and modern. Just 5 min away from main train station on foot. Nice yakitori restaurant next door. Would stay again.

    Family of 3 stay

    rating05 May 2026

We stayed at the M's hotel for three nights. It was us with our 5 year old. The hotel is very nice and we went for the bigger room for more space. The room was nice with your usual amenities. Our favorite part of the hotel was the lounge area. They had a lot of seating for you to have lunch or breakfast or just relax. They sell coffee in the lounge too for 100 yen per cup. I also like how they had self-serve luggage storage which we used after check out since we had some time till we had to take the train back to the airport. The staff was very nice and check in and check out were a breeze. I definitely recommend this hotel. We picked it because of it's proximity to Kyoto station but it was also very close to a lot of shops and restaurants.

    Great hotel

    rating17 Nov 2025

This hotel was great for everything we needed - convenient location, and a goods night sleep! It was close to the train station and easy to reach even with our suitcases. The surrounding area is lovely and has lots of great eateries to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were great (albeit slightly small). We stayed in a twin room which was an okay size (when considering how small Japan hotel rooms are), but the beds were too short for us to store suitcases underneath so had to put them in a corner which obviously took up room - and there wasn’t a lot of room to begin with! The bathroom was decent, there was a shower, and a bidet. No bath. The beds were comfortable for me (firm mattress, very soft pillows). We also had included in the room: a good hairdryer, air con, mini fridge, complimentary water, okay wifi (sometimes dropped out), a safe, and lots of amenities to help yourself to in reception. We were a corner room and so had 2 windows - one had a black out blind, the other didn’t. As someone who finds it hard to sleep unless the room is dark, I found it tricky with the one non-black out blind as the sun came up as it would wake me.Your bins were emptied daily but you could put a sign on the door saying ‘do not disturb’ if needed. The hotel will also hold onto your luggage if you arrive early! All in all the hotel was lovely and I would absolutely recommend to others, and also would return in future.

Compact but Well-Designed Hotel Right by Kyoto Station

    rating30 Aug 2025

I stayed at Hotel The M’s Kyoto at the end of my Japan trip, and it was a solid choice for convenience. The rooms aren’t very large, but for a solo traveller, they’re just right, and the design makes good use of the space. Amenities are available for free pickup in the lobby, which was a nice touch, and service was smooth and efficient — exactly what you’d expect in Japan. The best part of this hotel is its location: right by Kyoto Station, which makes it ideal if you’re planning multiple-day trips out of the city. It’s also easy to get around Kyoto from here, so it works well as a base.Overall, it’s not a standout hotel, but it does the job well. For budget-conscious travellers or anyone prioritising access to Kyoto Station, this is a good and reliable option. I’d stay again under those circumstances.
