  Considering the super positive reviews, the location near the station and the center we decided to stay at this b&b with high expectations.We were greeted by a very kind and friendly lady.Once in the room we immediately noticed the dirt: on the sheets there were lint, stains and hair, we warned of this discomfort and the lady proceeded to change them saying that it was not their fault but the laundry; not to mention the bathroom in poor condition, perhaps the bathroom of the autogrill would have been cleaner!I didn’t warn about the bathroom because it already seemed bad to disturb the bed and the lady kept telling us it was clean despite the evidence, so I proceeded to clean it myself.I also recommend maintenance of the air conditioner because it makes enough noise.Finally, I consider it uncomfortable that the owner lives inside an apartment of these both for a matter of privacy and because you hear any noise or voice (you could even hear the sprayer) and this undoubtedly puts limits on guests, both because there is always the smell of cooking and it is not pleasant at all!Of course, the photos I will put below were taken as soon as they entered the room. Cleanliness has always been one of this property’s strongest points, as demonstrated by the thousands of positive reviews we have received specifically regarding cleanliness.I would like to point out that we are one of the very few bed and breakfasts in Salerno that provides daily cleaning service every single day, whereas many other properties only clean after check-out.Regarding the bed, you mentioned some lint. After checking and confirming that there was nothing dirty—especially since you stated that you had already removed the lint yourselves—we still completely remade the bed from scratch as a gesture of good faith, to ensure your comfort in case you had experienced even the slightest discomfort.The same applies to the bathroom: had there been anything you wished to have re-cleaned, we would have done so immediately.To date, no guest has ever complained about the air conditioning, which is a relatively new model. The filters are regularly cleaned and the system is frequently sanitized.The lady you mentioned is a member of our staff and uses a room specifically reserved for staff members, particularly on days when arrivals take place at different times from standard check-in hours. This allows us to avoid unnecessary back-and-forth.Since you mentioned privacy, I would like to clarify that this property is a bed and breakfast, as clearly stated in the name B&B Portafortuna. Each guest has their own private room with a private en-suite bathroom, exactly as in a hotel. When staying in a hotel, do you complain about the presence of other rooms and other guests?We must also note that you remained in the room beyond the permitted check-out time. It is completely normal for other guests to leave in the morning and be accompanied to the door for check-out. If you heard a “spray bottle,” it was because cleaning had already started in other rooms.Despite the no-smoking policy throughout the property, you unfortunately used an electronic cigarette. No one confronted you about this, and we chose to be flexible. By law, we could have issued a fine, but we do not like to be overly rigid. Unfortunately, this review is how that flexibility has been repaid.What we state regarding the check-out time is documented by security cameras positioned at the entrance of the B&B, as well as by smoke detectors.Thank you.   Perfectly located 5 minutes from the station and the main street and 10 minutes from the port where you can embark to visit the beauty of the coast. The room is clean, spacious and equipped with every comfort. The lady who welcomed us is really nice. One coffee pod per guest per day is included. Breakfast is served in a bar 50 meters from the b & b where you will find great croissants and lots of kindness from the staff. Highly recommended.   Lucky charm lucky find in salerno

  Superb stay, room was always kept clean daily with fresh towels. The lady on site was very polite and always ready to help with anything. Ideal location for ferries and public transport. Only slight disappointment was the choice of breakfast location. Go to Al Dente about 100 m further on. A lovely little stay.   Good walking distance to main centre, train station and coast.Staff did not speak English, and was rude. Breakfast was very poor with just a cup of coffee and 1 croissant in a bar around the corner. No heating in room only air con with heat setting, which we had to turn off when going out, so room was freezing on return, no carpets or rugs on tiled floor so floor was very very cold. Member of Staff playing music and talking very loud late at night. No heating in bathroom, very cold. No daily housekeeping, room not cleaned while we were there, beds were made only once in the week we were there and that was when they changed the sheets..Our private balcony was used to put washed sheets from hotel on line. Also next to a panel beater garage.The other reviews did not say anything about this, this is a true reflection. portafortuna11, Direttore at B&B Portafortuna Lucky Charm, responded to this review i'm really sorry to read this feedback, but I will discuss point by point because it seems really exaggerated. First of all I speak english. it is true that the staff on site does not speak english but you had my personal number to contact me both by phone and on whatsapp. In addition to breakfast In the room there are water, coffee and chamomile, herbal teas and biscuits free every day. Things you pay everywhere. in the room there are heaters that are turned on in the evening and for all other hours there is an air conditioner which is already set with hot air. I'm sorry if the floor seemed cold, however we are in the middle of winter, as already mentioned there are heating in the room, air conditioning with hot air and in theory you should walk with slippers. In any case, to walk barefoot you put all the blankets available in the room on the floor and turned on the radiators during the day without asking permission from the staff who were available for any need and would surely satisfy you. I emphasize that you booked a room, not an apartment for which turning on the radiators alone was not polite behavior. We are sorry but the staff only spoke several minutes during one night out of 7 nights when you were a guest. and if he spoke for a few minutes, it was to welcome late arrivals, which rarely happens. you say no heating in the bathroom, very cold. why didn't you ask to put the heating in the bathroom? the staff would surely satisfy you. Cleaning was and is daily every day! instead the change of linen takes place by law every three days. I remind you that you booked a low price bed and breakfast and at the last minute you didn't book a suite in a hotel. You say: Our private balcony was used to line up hotel-washed sheets. In seven days, why didn't you notify me? if there was anything outside on the balcony I would have removed everything immediately. My staff has always had excellent reviews for professionalism and hospitality, just a little dialogue was enough, we would certainly have found solutions suited to your needs. Regards Francesco
