    Helpful, knowledgeable about transport links.

    rating27 May 2025

Just got back after staying here for 3 nights, the location isn’t the best it’s a long way from the centre of Rome, saying that the lovely man on reception told us which bus to take to the metro which gets you right into Rome for £1.20 & which bus to take us to the airport which cost £7 each much cheaper than the 40 euro it cost for a taxi to the hotel from the airport. There isn’t much in the area around the hotel but it shouldn’t put you off, it costs a lot less than staying in centre of Rome. Our room was in the ground floor no’105 it was very spacious & very clean with a jacuzzi shower & clean towels daily. As the room is slightly under ground level it was a bit dark, it could do with a mirror perhaps outside bathroom door on the wall to do make up. Continental breakfast was constantly replenished & it was a good selection. There’s a lovely rooftop seating area to chill out after a busy day sightseeing & a lovely bar.

Location too far out with nothing around the hotel

    rating27 May 2025

Spent 4 nights here. Very disappointed on how far out of Rome it was situated. There were a couple of restaurants nearby but its basically next to the motorway! We had to get 2 buses to get to the centre to see any attractions or to eat. Or a taxi which varied between 25 and 40 Euros one way ! The amount i spent on transport and getting a fine on the bus by the police who were very nasty, of another 110 Euros I may as well have paid a bit more and stayed in a hotel nearer the city centre. It made the trip stressful and tiring. Also, we were given our room, unpacked then went into the bathroom which was swarming with red ants. I complained and they were very good and swapped our rooms, the staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel says its 4 star but id say 3 at best. Breakfast was lovely but there wasn't any food available after 10am so you had to get transport into the city to eat. Tried one local restaurant and it was awful. Beds were comfy, shower was useless kept going freezing cold or scalding hot.Wouldn't really recommend unless you dont mind walking over an hour to see or do anything in Rome or you want to just sit in the hotel all day.

    A fantastic holiday

    rating27 May 2025

Raganelli Hotel is a good hotel. It has easy access to transportation and it is not too far to the city centre or airport. It is a clean and welcoming hotel and the staff were FANTASTIC. My sister, niece and I travelled to Italy (Rome) and stayed for a week at Raganelli Hotel and we are so glad that we did. We arrived in the afternoon (about 2 p.m local time) and we were immediately checked in. We were well impressed with the welcome we received. The staff at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. He gave us a map of Rome and how to travel around. He also gave us a 10% discount to a local restaurant. When we got to our room, we noticed that there was no fridge in the room but on our way to dinner we asked at the front desk and a mini fridge was delivered to our room which we appreciated as it would hold milk or small water bottles. Breakfast is from 7 a.m to 10 a.m. It was not the usual spread that we were used to seeing at hotels on holidays. It was basic but good enough to get us by through the day. It has the usual scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fruits, ham slices, turkey slices, cheese, white and brown bread, pastries, hot drinks, juice, a few bread spreads, etc. There were also cakes which was strange as we have never had them for breakfast but it was a good change. The hotel is clean and the staff are very polite, welcoming and helpful. We find our room okay. It was cleaned daily and we had fresh towels every day. We booked a triple standard but it was a bit on the small side for three people especially as there was no extra space (wardrobe). The wardrobe space was enough for two people. There also wasn’t an extra table to rest stuff on or when ironing clothes. We had to use the ironing board on the bed which was a bit of an inconvenience sometimes.Shopping for food? There is a health food store (Naturasi) about a minute walk away or you could use Carrefour supermarket which is about 8 minutes walk down a steep hill from the hotel. We only visited Carrefour once for milk, water and a few bits as we were mostly out and about during the day. Transportation is very easy from Raganelli. The bus stop across the road from the hotel will get you to Cornelia Metro which is on Metro A. It is 5 bus stops away from the hotel. By metro from Cornelia, Metro Cipro is 3 stops away, Ottaviano Station (Vatican City) is 4 stops away. If you’re visiting the Vatican Museum, you can either get off at Cipro or Ottaviano. The closest station to St. Peter’s Basilica is Ottaviano. Barberini Station is 8 stops away from Cornelia. This station is for Trevi Fountain which is closest to the station and The Pantheon which is a bit more walking about 6 minutes from Trevi Fountain. Termini (which has Metros A, B and trains) is 10 stops away from Cornelia Metro. If you’re visiting the Colosseum, take the metro from Cornelia Station to Termini then change to Metro B for Colosseum Metro. The Colosseum is just across the road from the station. From Termini (Roma Termini) we were also able to travel to Florence (Firenze), Pisa and Naples (Napoli). Bus routes 246 and 247 can also transport you to connecting buses from the hotel to and from the city centre. Bus 246 is a frequent bus and runs 7 days a week although on Sundays it runs hourly and can be tricky to catch. 247 is not as frequent but it will take you very close to the Vatican Museum as it terminates at Metro Cipro Station. Bus 247 does not run on Sundays. A 100 minute travel pass (travel card to use on buses, metro, trams and urban trains) cost €1.50, 24 hour pass €7, 48 hours €12.50 and 72 hours €18. Maestro cards are also accepted on most buses with a scanner but I will advise to get a travel pass from a station if you want to explore the city as it works out cheaper. Although we bought travel passes, we found travelling by bus much easier and would use the metro if and when necessary. I would definitely recommend staying at Raganelli as it was convenient, clean and has friendly and helpful staff. This made our holiday great all round and our Rome and Italy experience was fantastic because of the people we met, where we were staying and the accessibility to transport.

Lovely clean hotel. Lovely breakfast Staff are so welcoming and helpful. Especially the young lady at the desk (so sorry I can't recall her name). She went above and beyond for me, I was so grateful. Thank you for a lovely stay, from Karen and Anne-Marie.

    Generally poor.

    rating27 May 2025

The location of the hotel is poor. A bus journey of 2km plus 12 stops on the metro to get to the centre is required. Buses are very sporadic with waits of up to 40 minutes plus. This hotel is in no way 4*, an English Premier inn (3*) would beat it hands down. Very poor maintenance, our shower kept flooding the shower room floor. We reported it on the evening we got there, still the same next morning when we reported it again and the promised to sort it. Nothing done again, reported again following morning , again nothing done. Eventually they changed our room. On this occasion the shower head wasn't fitted properly and sprayed water all over the bathroom. I ended up fixing it myself. Reception was frequently unmanned and no one ever answered the phone when we were trying to report the flooding. The only thing good I can say about this hotel is that the breakfast was good so 2* instead of one.
