Location

This hotel is situated in the heart of Tuscany and is a perfect base for exploring the area. Montecatini Terme is strategically located in the centre of Tuscany, equidistant from the region’s most important and attractive towns and sites of artistic interest. The hotel is set in the centre of Montecatini Terme, allowing guests to experience the life of the town. It is only a short walk from the baths, the Congress centre and the best shops and just few hundred metres away from the train station which may be reached on foot, and close to the A11 highway exit. Florence and Pisa are a 40-minute drive away and it is 20 minutes by car to Lucca and an hour to Siena. The beach is a 45-minute drive away at Forte dei Marmi.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1920. The hotel welcomes guests in a 3-storey building with a lift and 42 non-smoking rooms. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air.     The Hotel Da Vinci was a wonderful hotel to stay. The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. We ate the breakfast buffet each morning and it was wonderful. Excellent variety and fresh. One night we had dinner and it was great.

    This is not a 4 star hotel, as advertised and promoted by the hotel. Dirty rooms, hair on bedding, mold in bathrooms, smoke smell in rooms and hallways, very loud. Very dated. 6 of stayed and rented 3 balcony rooms, 1 room did not have a balcony. I would be very suspect of any positive reviews of this hotel. This “hotel” is more comparable to a hostel. Do not waste your money!

    We were placed at Hotel Da Vinci by Travelodeal as part of an Italy travel package we booked and were very disappointed. We were supposed to stay for 4 nights, but checked out the first night because we were so uncomfortable. The hotel overall is dated. We had 3 rooms for the 6 of us and each room was in poor condition with damaged wall and ceilings. The light fixtures, outlets and furniture were dirty. The linens were hanging down to the floor. The bathrooms were dirty. Shortly after we initially checked in two buses full of teenagers also checked in and were running, yelling and smoking in the rooms and hallways, much like a hostel. We filed our grievances with Travelodeal after finding our own accommodations and were told that because no one else had complaints (I guess they thought the teenagers were going to be complaining?) that we would not be getting a refund. Travelodeal also had the following to say regarding the rooms "A minor wall scratch was acknowledged in one room, believed to be caused by luggage." I'm including the photos that were sent to them and supposedly sent to the hotel for review. It was not a single minor scratch. The staff seemed friendly, but seemed to be covering both this hotel and the one across the street.

    Very nice hotel with a great feel of the traditional culture in Italy! Then you go into the bedrooms and they are nice and spacious and fairly modern. Great amenities and staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel is also in a very good location for bars and restaurants and also to the nearest train station for visiting other places!!
