    Room by a lift shaft

    First room was next to the internal lift. Could only sleep when all guest had gone to bed and not using the lift around 12pm due to the noise of the lift in operation.Requested a move of room. Better room but after a poor nights sleep.Went down to breakfast and was told sit where you like. Chose a table for four as there were five of us when all arrived. Immediately told you cannot sit there as it is four four people. Very poor service was often the case.

    We stayed 3 nights last September, and absolutely loved this hotel, everything about it was magnificent.On arrival we were given a free room upgrade on the top floor facing the lake. The weekend we were there they had a wedding but this in no way disrupted our stay in fact it enhanced it as it was great seeing all the guests enjoying themselves, and as a nice touch every room was given a free bottle of Prosecco and a note from the bride and groom to apologise for any disturbance. Not sure why others have moaned about it?Main advantages of staying here areThe location, right next door to the boats to Bellagio, the amazing views of the lake, the immaculate gardens and pool area, really nice breakfast and the friendly staff.Going back later this year.

    Elegant Italian charm. This hotel ticked all the boxes!

    The room was a little on the small side, but comfortable and spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel. All the staff including reception, porters, dining, bar, and chamber maids were lovely.The position overlooking the pool terrace and lake couldn't be better.The pool itself was fantastic.Breakfast overlooking the lake provided all one could want.Great situation next to ferry terminal with regular services to the likes of Bellagio and Varenna.We were part of a package, and I hope the company continues to use this hotel. We loved it!!

    Disappointing Experience with Unhelpful and Unprofessional Staff

    I am writing this review based on my unfortunate experience with both the front desk staff and the porter. After missing the last ferry, we asked for assistance in getting to the next ferry terminal, which was only 1 km away. We were told that the porter could help. However, as we walked to his car, he suddenly demanded 50 Euros for the ride. When we refused, stating that the price was unreasonable, he sneered and nonchalantly walked back to the hotel without offering any further assistance.We returned to the front desk, where the receptionist was completely unhelpful and dismissive, choosing to continue typing an email rather than address our concerns.It is disappointing that a hotel of this caliber employs staff who seem more interested in taking advantage of guests than offering genuine assistance. This kind of behavior cast a shadow over our entire trip.If you’re looking for friendly and accommodating service, I would recommend staying elsewhere.

    After paying over €650 a night for our room the service we expected was not forthcoming. On the first evening when we requested a bucket of ice via room service we were initially asked to collect it ourselves from the bar. Day two we were resting in the room after a long few days of travelling and when we asked for our room to be made up and cleaned, we were met by hostility from the housekeeper of the hotel. Of which the receptionist was witness to. Day three and our final day we woke to find the hotel was hosting a wedding. We left our room to take a drive around Lake Como to find that our car was completely blocked in by about 50 cars from the wedding guests. No prior warning was given about this. On return to the hotel after a walk we were faced with laminated signs by the elevator telling us that due to the “private event” in the hotel the restaurant was closed. Again no prior warning and no mention of a wedding being held at the hotel when we had checked in three days prior ! Upon returning to the room we phoned for room service, to be told that they could offer us nothing on our final night of our stay. Totally unprofessional. Our original booking was made in March 2024 and we booked an additional night a week prior to our visit. There was no mention of a wedding taking place at either of these points of booking.The response we had from the manager is as follows:Dears Paula & Hannes Martin ,we apologize for all the inconveniences you had during your stayBut we belive that hosting a wedding reception it 's not an inconvenienceWe are an Hotel and as in all the Hotels in the world it is possible to organize reception and partyGuest can book room and breakfast ,the restaurant is an additional serviceWe have advised our guests the day before, that the restaurant will be closed on SaturdayWe do not do room service at all , only for drinks from the bar , our rooms are not equipped for having lunch/dinner We are sorry that you had a bad experience of such a beautiful event which is the union of two persons who love each other Whit kind regardsAngela RavamanaPlease be aware of this Hotel. So wished we had read the reviews about the place before we booked. Lesson learnt !
