Very nice individual hotel

Beautiful hotel with very nice hotel. We had a very nice time here and if we come back to Santorini, this will definitely be our first address to check! Poor customer service and dated rooms

We travelled with Wingbuddy as our provider. Horizon Resort is located away from the beach and main hotel area, about a 15 minute walk. There is a nice pool area out front of the hotel and loungers to relax on. When we went inside to check in the gentleman (appeared to be the owner) seemed uninterested. The lobby area had no lights on which made it feel a bit dreary. We did not receive any welcome or greeting to his facility. We were immediatly provided a document to read which outlined what we could and could not do during our stay. We were then told to pay our hotel tax and cash only on the spot. We understood that we were responsible to pay this fee however, he just put his hand out and basically demanded the fee in cash which seemed unprofessional. He provided a small map and scribbled the location of the hotel and where the restaurant and beach were located. He then proceeded to take us to our room. The bed was very dated and only about 15 inches off the floor. My first thought was how difficult it would be to get in and out of the bed being so low to the floor. The bathroom was very dated and was just a small pedestal sink beside the toilet. The shower was in the corner had a plastic shower curtail that would circle around 2 sides. The room had a balcony with a couple of chairs and a small table which was nice. The gentleman handed us the key and left. The outdoor amenities looked nice but the room really needs an upgrade as very dated. The customer service interaction was not welcoming and we felt more like an inconvenience to his day. We decided to take a walk and found another facility that was welcoming and able to provide a room for our 4 night stay. As Santorini was our last stop on our Wingbuddy package, we felt that changing hotels would be best as we were not comfortable with the Horizon Resort as outlined above and didn’t want to end our vacation negatively. This was an added cost to us but well worth it as the facility we moved to was by far more superior with the same 3 star rating as the Horizon Resort. As we did not stay here our rating of 3 stars out of 5 was based on the interaction and dated room that was provided. , General Manager at Horizon Resort, responded to this review Dear Wayne,I did welcomed you proper as I had to do and Informed you about things could make your stay enjoyaible. I also had to inform you about the enviromental tax you need to pay and yes I did gave you a map and point you all the necessary informations.I need to mention that you asked me private questions about me which I gently denied to replied you as I saw you were in a bit unproper situation.My advice as a traveller is always plan your trip by yourself and do not book a holiday from an agent which reveal the hotels of your trip last minute as a surprise. Lovely week in Kamari

Have just come back from a lovely week in Santorini staying at Horizon resort. This was a rescheduled trip after not being able to travel last year which George was very accommodating in sorting out for me and my husband.The rooms are well kept and immaculately cleaned every day with fresh towels. There is an adequate buffet breakfast every day. The whole hotel including grounds and swimming pool are very well maintained and clean.George arranged a pick up and drop off at airport for us and also helped with car hire which was delivered to hotel for us.Location was a 10 min walk to beach and main strip. Do not go here. I have never experienced such a rude man running a hotel. Besides threatening guests, saying he knows the mafia and having huge discussions with his guests, I felt incredibly unsafe in this resort. He cheats with bills and drinks and does not keep his agreements. Do not book here! The positive reviews are only if you are not in contact with this man. As soon as you have any discussion he threatens with the police and it will cost you money. You can see that in the other reviews as well. Do not take this risk, believe me it is not worth it. , General Manager at Horizon Resort, responded to this review Dear Anne,Your husband threw me into the pool with my backpack that had my electronic devices in it when I came to ask you to get out of the pool because you swam on the night you are not allowed to. You paid me the value of the electronic devices 3500 euros. I want to inform you that I have already started a lawsuit against you for defamation. I have evidence from the hotel cameras and the paper your husband wanted me to sign for the compensation he gave me. The continuation will be given in court.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. Lovely breakfast served outside in Greek sunshine. Enjoyed swimming in pool.
