Location

The hotel is situated at the foot of the mountain where ancient Thira is also found. One of the best known beaches of Santorini, Kamari, is within walking distance of the hotel.

    This hotel has a lot of potential. We loved the location, overlooking the black beach in Kamari, tucked away from the noisy beachfront but within walking distance. We had a sea view room with a nice balcony. However, a 4⭐️ hotel needs decent towels and bed sheets. Splurge a little on the toiletries and offer complementary drinking water. Make the room up so that everything is fresh and clean. It would make a much better impression. Overall, we enjoy our stay, despite these suggestions. P.S. You will be walking up a hill to this hotel. Good workout every time.

    The hotel is so relaxing. Set on a slight incline so you’ll need to be ready for the walk back up after venturing into Kamari which is 10 mins walk away. Authentic Greek hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful and can book trips and taxis for you. Breakfast is very good with lots of Greek delicacies as well as standard continental, eggs, bacon and coffee. Juice and water. Big call out to Fox who manages the pool bar. He looked after us very well and has a great sense of humour and charm. He looks after your every need if you’re enjoying the sun and pool.

    All around 10/10 holiday, from the moment we walked in we were welcomed. Reception staff were lovely. The bar service is impeccable, Fox (barman) is 10/10 at making a variety of different drinks. Has a nice chat with all guests and makes your stay so welcoming, will also help with anything if you ask. Will definitely be returning. Had an amazing time.

    Mixed feelings about this hotel. A beautiful hotel that is set into the cliff.Great spot for sunrise and sunset.On the negative side. Not really a four star hotel. Our towels were probably the worst I have ever had. Sandpaper would be better than what they provided for us.The staff works very hard to be accommodating but are truly short staffed.We were upgraded to another room but honestly it wasn’t any better Our tv was so far away from our bed it looked like a ipad.The flights of stairs are made of marble which becomes slippery when wet.Carrying luggage was almost dangerous.Roland tried to help but the stairs are not easy to navigate.He was by far the best staff member.The elevator is not worth using as it only goes up or down one floor.Breakfast is included but falls short.They ran out of bacon within the first half hour. The coffee machine failed several times and the power also cut out as well.No free water bottles which is terrible because getting to the store requires walking downhill and climbing back up.Not easy if you’re not in shape.Don’t drink the water or rinse with it.Use bottled water.

    We came back to Epavlis for the second time this year and cannot fault it. The staff are all incredibly kind and welcoming and work incredibly hard to make everyone’s stay as perfect as possible. We wanted somewhere quiet to relax with easy access to good restaurants so we will always choose Epavlis when we visit Santorini. We can’t thank the staff enough and our room was perfect too, with a heated jacuzzi and super comfortable bed. 😍
