Beautiful friendly hotel in quiet area

    rating27 May 2025

We stayed in a private pool villa for 7 days, attending a family wedding in Mykonos. The STAFF at the hotel are first rate, very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Everone there was fantastic, and really made our stay enjoyable. FOOD:The breakfast is very good with a varied selection. It is served to 11am every day, which is great for us late risers. We ate in restaurant once and it was ok. OK food, good portion size and prices comparable with rest of island. There is another restaurant across the street(different hotel) and 2 beach clubs within walking distance as well. There may be more, but we didn't have time to explore because of family eventsThe LOCATION is quiet and in retrospect, we should have hired a car. It is about 30 minutes from Mykonos Town and there are not many taxis on the island, so you are looking at 50Eur each way(minibus for 5 ppl) It adds up. The hotel front desk were amazing at arranging the taxis for us, we really appreciated it. There are 2 free shuttles a day from hotel to Mykonos Town, one at noon and another at 8pm, returns are at 12.30 and 8.30, I think. Ano Mera is a small village about a 5 min drive, with a very good grocery store, restaurants and coffee bars. There is a monastery and a few shops. We spent a nice afternoon there. ROOM was clean and very well looked after. No body lotion or conditioner provided, but plentiful shampoo, soap & shower gel in room. There is a mini bar(charges), hair dryer, mozzy deterrent and nespresso machine. We brought our own pods because we drink a lot of coffee, but I didn't see that there was a charge for hotel pods as others noted. Complimentary half bottle of lovely Greek wine was waiting for us on arrival and 1 ltr bottle of water.ROOM102 was small & not what I would call a luxury suite. No sofa or seating area inside, just one chair which we had to use for storage, as there was not enough space for 2 suitcases. The toilet and shower have frosted glass doors, and face the bed and patio doors, so not much privacy. I suggest the hotel adds a curtain between the bathroom area and the bed area, to block morning light from window and give some privacy to dress/shower. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Deducted 1 star for room, bit disappointing but we weren't in it much. Outside patio is fantastic. Spectacular views, good amount of sunny/shady spots, the pool was warm and it was cleaned daily. The pool patios are very close to each other, only separated by a low partial wall. There is a public walkway right in front as well, but it only leads to the pool rooms, so wasn't used by many people. There is also the hotel pool, decent amount of loungers plus bar service. Playing music at a perfect volume. It was a really great holiday, tho we spent most of it running to/from family events, we would definitely return to this hotel but would hire a car to see more of island.Thank you to everyone at Archipelagos Hotel for making our fist visit to Mykonos so special!

    A piece of heaven

    rating27 May 2025

We booked this hotel as couples break for 4 nights and we’re so glad we did. The staff were all amazing and very attentive throughout the whole stay. The views are breathtaking and the rooms are well equipped and quaint. There is a good selection offered at breakfast and possibly the best fresh orange juice we’ve ever tasted. The hotel is a little out of the way but they offer 2 shuttle services daily to Mykonos town which means you can get the best of both worlds. This is our first visit to Greece in 3 decades and we’ve now decided to visit annually and to stay at this hotel when we do. Classy, authentic and run by a superb team. Perfect.

Good, but needs a few tweaks

    rating27 May 2025

We recently stayed at Archipelagos Hotel in Mykonos and had a generally enjoyable experience, though there were a few aspects that could be improved. The hotel offered stunning views, and our room was clean with excellent housekeeping throughout our stay. The poolside area was beautiful, providing a relaxing spot to unwind, and the restaurant and pool staff were outstanding. A special thanks to Andreas Charalampakis, who went above and beyond to assist us, and Lambros, the driver, who was always helpful and kind. The hotel’s location, while scenic, is quite far from Mykonos town, requiring taxis for nearly every outing, with limited amenities nearby. The marketing suggested an a la carte restaurant, which was not the case, and the dining options were more limited than expected. Additionally, the room was smaller than anticipated, not matching the photos or descriptions online. Lastly, while the staff were generally great, the initial welcome felt a bit too focused on upselling excursions, which detracted from the overall experience. In conclusion, we had a wonderful time but feel that with a few changes, the hotel could offer an even better experience. We’re grateful for the hospitality we received.

Old fashioned and dirty. Big disappointment

    rating27 May 2025

The worst hotel we have been in our trip to Greece. Very disapponting experience. Room had not been used in a long while so was dirty. But in any case it is a 3 stars standard, everything is old in the rooms. Pictures on the hotel website do not reflect at all what you encounter when you get there. Used bandages and hair in the jacuzzi and on floor, stains on couch and blankets, dust everywhere. And they didnt care at the reception when we complained. Avoid a bad experience there are so many other nice hotels in Mykonos... Terrible experience

A good hotel, but not quite five stars

    rating27 May 2025

First off: this is a pretty good hotel, most guests will surely enjoy their stay. The rooms are well-appointed and many have great rooms, the pool is nice, service is friendly and professional. But for five stars and a Small Leading Hotel of the World, there are a few things that weren't quite right:Communication ahead of my trip was a bit rough. Ms. Alexaki misunderstood a few things in my emails and twice ignored my question about a private airport transfer with the hotel's shuttle - so I booked my own... missed revenue for the hotel.Selection at breakfast was adequate rather than impressive, but I appreciate there are space constraints. Several foods, both at breakfast and dinner, were just barely warm anymore, which shouldn't happen given the small quantities and low number of guests that is being cooked for. Unfortunately no cloth napkins, which is a must for five stars.  While the breakfast/restaurant area played piano music, pop/electro has played at the pool - since the two are so close to one another, you would always hear both, which was irritating. In the room, all provided pillows were too soft for my taste. The mattress, however, was great for my back. The curtain in my room was damaged, the sideboard had water damage, and one outside wall on the terrace was stained (see images). The bathroom sports thick but rather scratchy and yellowed towels, and the modern, rectangular wash basin has almost no slope to its drain, so water, and everything that swims in it, rather dries than drains. There is a slight unpleasant, funky smell in the shower, probably coming from the drain/plumbing. For a Greek island, it was a pleasant surprise that you are allowed to flush toilet paper in the toilet.Housekeeping was okay, just once a used band-aid, which I forgot on the terrace, wasn't picked up, and the phone should be dusted off more frequently (see image). Unfortunately the housekeeping team got to my room only in the afternoon, around 2pm, which on occasion clashed with getting an early afternoon break from the heat. With only 49 rooms to handle, you'd think they'd be done by mid-day. The rooms only have a do-not-disturb signal, but no please-make-up-my-room-with-priority signal.Loungers at the pool, while good quality, had no good setting for backrest angle to read in. It's either bolt-upright, or reclined quite far.The small gym is located in a room with no natural light under the pool. Some cardio machines are very basic and don't function correctly, the free weights only go up to 15kg. There is AC, a TV, free towels and water, which is good.I did not make use of the hotel shuttle to Mykonos Town as the timings make no sense; it should be 5pm (to town) and 9pm return, that's more than enough time for roaming, shopping and dinner, and it avoids the afternoon heat.A few things the hotel can't be blamed for but that might still irritate picky guests:- there is some construction noise ca. 300 meters away from the hotel, but only during the day- there is a very noisy generator running somewhere in the area, could even be on the other side of the bay, but it's a bit annoying when sitting on the terrace/balcony in the evenings, disrupting the calm atmosphere that people come to this quiet area of the island for- the tap water as well as the water in the pool is desalinated sea water, and it still tastes quite saltyIf this all sounds like nit-picking - it certainly is. None of the above really stands in the way of spending a relaxing vacation at Archipelagos, away from the hustle and bustle of Mykonos town and the party beaches in the south-west. But they still shouldn't occur at a five-star SLH costing over €200 a night.
