    An unforgettable stay in Athens

    My husband had an enjoyable 6 night stay at the Polis Grand Hotel in Athens. We requested an early check in (Easter Sunday) and to our surprise, our room was ready hours before we thought (we needed a nap after flying all day and night from Arizona.) We booked the executive double room with a private Veranda Acropolis view and were not disappointed (had awesome views of the Acropolis and Mt. Lycabettus!) Although the shower was a bit small (common in Greece), we had plenty of room to roam and place our belongings. Being on the eighth floor, we found it extremely convenient that the stairs to the Blue Sky Rooftop restaurant was literally outside our room! We dined at the Blue Sky Rooftop four of the six nights. The first night, we enjoyed a traditional tasty Greek dinner (lamb with lemony potatoes), Greek Salad various breads and warm mini baklavas. Our server (Lisa) greeted us with open arms and provided a pleasurable dining experience (I hope the comments make it to her - she was superb and so nice!) We also had various dishes from their menu the other three nights and they were all delicious (compliments to the chef)! We also enjoyed the superb breakfast buffet three of the five days. By far, it was the best breakfast spread of our first trip to Greece! They had everything one can imagine for breakfast! We also want to give a shout out to the staff (front desk, security and housekeeping.) Everyone was professional and accommodating. Highly recommended to anyone who is willing to stay a little off the beaten path (Omonia district.) Keep in mind the elevators are small and can only hold three people. A small minus compared to the stellar service, exquisite meals and spectacular views of Athens.

    Had this hotel been anywhere else I would have rated it a 5 but Omania square is just not the end of town you want to be. Our room was clean and of a good size. The shower was tiny and hairdryer pretty weak. Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast selection amazing!! Highlighted by coffee made in hot sad. Unfortunately outside the hotel building work, grubby rough building and societies dregs meant we didn’t feel safe after dark. Used syringes in the gutters and homeless people added to it.

    The front desk staff is awesome! They were so friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is really great with a lot of variety., and the breakfast staff works very hard to make sure everything is good. 5 stars for the staff, 4 stars for the small rooms.     This is a well situated hotel in the Omonian zone, very close to the station, literally 5 minutes walk orless is you are fast.The staff are very helpful and friendly.We love the buffet and food in the restaurant. My only complaint is how small our shower was,so small that my friend and I (both petit in size) struggled to get a shower or was our hair. They do provide You with sleepers and drinking water.     A VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY

    I had an extremely disappointing stay at POLIS GRAND HOTEL in ATHENS GREECE with my spouse on March 2 and March 3 /2025 .Despite purchasing a package THAT PROMISED A GOOD ROOM , we were given the WORST , in first floor, smallest room with an extremely cramped bathroom. The shower door was broken and wouldn't close, causing water to flood the entire bathroom area every time we used it. This made it impossible for my spouse to shower, and we had to place multiple towels on the floor just to keep the area somewhat usable.What made matters worse was that my spouse has a medical condition requiring a clean and functional bathroom due to the need for regular dressing change. Despite explaining this to the hotel staff, they only promised to fix the issue later.which never happened until we was there .The lack of proper facilities , for our situation made our stay extremely uncomfortable and frustrating. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel , especially if you expect basic cleanliness, functional facilities,and decent customer service.
