    Fabulous location and service! Rooms are comfortable and provide water, toiletries and breakfast bar. This location provides so many local authentic options for dining. They also host an onsite 24 hour restaurant. So glad we booked the Coco-Mat BC.

    Location couldn’t be better.Staff is very friendly and helpful.Breakfast is tasteful and offers big variety of options.Filtered water is available 24x7.It could be perfect, if the room and the bedroom wouldn’t have some room for improvement.The room lacks blackout curtains, which is a big issue for me. It also should have a baggage holder.And the bathroom only has a single hanger for the four towels, which is a headache every day.In summary, a very good option for whom is visiting Athens.

    Filthy Room, No Accountability – Extremely Disappointed

    Extremely disappointed with our experience at Coco-Mat Athens BC. Upon check-in, we were shown the original room we booked — which felt more like a stuffy, old Motel 6 than a boutique hotel. Hoping for a better experience, we returned to the front desk and paid an upgrade fee for what was described as “the best room available.”That so-called premium room did offer a beautiful balcony view of Athens and the Acropolis, which could have been a highlight — but there were no chairs or furniture provided to enjoy the space, which made it feel like a missed opportunity.Unfortunately, the condition of the room itself was appalling: bodily fluid stains on the bed and couch, damaged flooring, a rusted shower head, robes with loose threads, and scruffy, overused towels. We also found several hairs underneath the sink and heavy dust throughout — all of which we documented with photos.We didn’t feel comfortable staying and immediately checked out to find another hotel. When we returned the keys, we were only refunded the upgrade fee. When I asked about a full refund, I was met with a patronizing smile and told to “send pictures.” No one offered to walk back to the room or even acknowledge the severity of the issues.What’s truly baffling is how this property is rated as a 5-star hotel — at best, it’s a 3-star experience. And I say that as someone who has stayed in hotels all over the world, including other parts of Athens and Greece. This hotel pales in comparison to virtually every other stay we’ve had in the country.This frustrating experience ate into our final evening in Athens, which we had hoped to enjoy before a long flight back to the U.S. Instead, we spent that time scrambling to secure clean, comfortable lodging and dealing with dismissive management who clearly weren’t interested in guest satisfaction.We’ve submitted the photos and details to the hotel directly. If they do not offer a full refund, we will be disputing the charge with Visa. I strongly recommend others think twice before booking here. The sleek marketing and photos do not reflect the reality. We expected far better from a place claiming 5-star status — and received far less.

    Great hotel in a wonderful location

    Stayed 4 nights on our first visit to Athens. Nice hotel in a great location - close to lots of restaurants and shops, Monastiraki square, and of course the Acropolis. Rooms small but very clean and efficient and a wonderful balcony with chairs and a table to sit and watch the action. Staff were very helpful and service was prompt and pleasant. Would certainly recommend.

    Staff were extremely polite,friendly and helpful. Breakfast included with great options available. Highly recommend for a stay in Athens. Located next to Acropolis museum and access to the Acropolis. You couldn't ask for more, also great restaurants locally.
