TRS Punta Cana Review – June 27, 2026Where do I begin?I'm currently staying at TRS Punta Cana, and this has been, by far, the worst vacation I've ever taken. This trip was supposed to celebrate my birthday, but it's been one disappointment after another.Check-in took forever. Unlike other luxury resorts, there wasn't even a welcome drink upon arrival. After finally checking in, I got to my room only to find it filthy. I waited over two hours for housekeeping to clean it, even after paying $700 for a two-night stay. Spending my birthday waiting for a clean room is unacceptable.When housekeeping finally arrived around 8:00 PM, the room still wasn't up to standard. The sheets were dirty, the shower was dirty, the floors hadn't been cleaned, and I found a long blonde hair in the bathtub. The bathtub was cracked, and the couch was leaning and looked worn out. There is absolutely no way this qualifies as a 5-star resort.The problems continued throughout my stay. The breakfast buffet gave me diarrhea, and the swim-up pool was disgusting. It was full of leaves, bugs, and even moss. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days.The beach was covered in seaweed, making it nearly impossible to enjoy. While I understand seaweed is a natural occurrence, guests should know what to expect.Transportation around the resort is also unreliable. I was stranded at the sports center for about 30 minutes waiting for a shuttle.The butler service was another huge disappointment. I honestly don't know what the purpose of having a butler is because mine did absolutely nothing to improve my stay or assist with any of the issues I experienced.The White Party was underwhelming as well. I understand we're in the Dominican Republic, but considering the large number of guests visiting from the United States and other countries, I expected a better variety of music instead of almost exclusively Spanish songs.I've stayed at the TRS in Cancun, and the difference is night and day. The Cancun property provides the luxury experience I expected. TRS Punta Cana does not.Between the dirty room, poor housekeeping, filthy pool, unreliable shuttle, disappointing butler service, getting sick from the food, and overall lack of service, I absolutely cannot recommend this resort.Save your money and book somewhere else

We had a wonderful vacation at TRS! Our mayordomo, Jean, was exceptional and took outstanding care of us throughout our stay. He handled our dinner reservations flawlessly and went above and beyond with so many thoughtful extras that made our trip truly special.We had an amazing experience from start to finish and felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. We would definitely recommend TRS.

No bellhop service upon checkout offered, butlers duck out (& I travel w/special tip $), flat teppanyaki chef, puke floating in jacuzzi, no maps of property for directory, no tangible birthday acknowledgment, food was impressive all around, great activities staff, great food/bar servers, safe-ish as 1 maid was very sus. Spa was top-notch.

Our butler Randy was amazing!!! He got us a couple reservations that the other butler said they couldn't and he had our room decorated for my husband's birthday. There were a few cosmetic this in the room like the outlets didn't work to charge phones, fridge did not work, and the door lock look like someone kicked the door in. We never got our cervical pillows that we asked for 3 times.I was disappointed the pool closed at 7 pm. Its an adult only hotel why is the pool closing so early? Overall great time
