A bit off the beaten track

Not quite what we'd been expecting location wise and difficult to find without a map or satnav! Badly prepared yes, but for some reason we thought it was located much more centrally.Once we'd found the apartments, the next difficulty was how do we find the landlord. There was just a list of apartment owners names next to door bells. In the end we had to ring on our mobile, which we weren't impressed with because of roaming charges. We ended up getting a cab to the old town, it wasn't expensive but too far to walk. Our host was helpful, but small things like no corkscrew/bottle opener or any toilet paper whatsoever were disappointing. Villa-Zubcic, Owner at Villa Zubcic, responded to this review Hello everyone :)I'm Katina the new owner of the Villa Zubcic :) Last year I finished college Of tourism and hospitality and since than I working on better Villa Zubcic. Certain that we have raised the quality level of Villa and staff and I can't wait to see better reviews, in what I'm sure :)About location which you mention in your review I can said that our location is marked on google map and on all possible sites of advertising so that information is exposed customer before his booking. About our location I think all the best (of course that in Zadar you have better Villa's with better location but also and expensive, so guest can choose the best for him after he check the price, location, description, reviews,etc..). We are located in the quiet part of Zadar, at Borik where is a lot of hotels/hostels/restaurants/beaches/activities etc.. but we are not in the first order to the sea, we have 800 m to the sea but we have another charm; special view from the terrace, view to the sea and the island, beautiful sunsets and constant games of the landscapes. Zadar is a small city so there is not problem with transfers from point A to point B. We are located in the quit and beautiful place but only 3.5 km away from the center of the city which is not too much. You have bus station 100 m from the Villa, you can order the taxi which is not expensive, you can rent a bike, drive your own car (free and safe parking place in the front of the Villa).I'm sorry that you are spend roaming, we correct the error, thank you :)

Don't think I would stay here again

This was our third acommodation during our 10-night vacation in Croatia. Location: It is located at about 15 minutes drive from the old town of Zadar. Within 5-10 minutes walk there is a bakery (our saviour for breakfast) and a mini market (which we did not try). Plodine (a big supermarket) is about 1 km from the property. As far as we were concerned, we could not find any bus stop nearby as advertised in Booking.com - but maybe we did not look long enough. I'm not sure if it is really located 400 m away from the shoreline as advertised in their website. Apartment: The apartment itself was quite ok. Mostly as pictured. Big. View is ok - our terrace looks over a still-has-to-be-developed area and residential areas (see my photo). We did get a glimpse of the sea from our balcony. Amenities: Could be cleaner. Some dishes were still dirty. One of the two supposedly white towels was actually blue-ish (something blue has definitely stained the towel). The first night was quite cold and we did not have any idea on how to control the temperature. For our 3-night stay we were provided with only 1 roll of toilet paper. No kitchen paper (luckily we brought our own). There were 2 wifi options and for some unknown reasons we were given the password to the weaker wifi. Wifi worked ok in the bedroom, on and off in the dining/living room. Parking is limited to 2-3 cars (but I guess you can always park on the side of the street as the area is not busy and does not seem to have officers checking for parking). All in all, it was not a bad place to stay and I might (just might) even consider staying there again if it was not for one issue. On the confirmation e-mail my friend got, the total amount to pay was 139.80 euro. We came prepared with 140 euro. When we wanted to pay, we had to pay 156 euro. So in the midst of being tired after the journey from Dubrovnik and trying to come up with the 16 euro, we forgot about the confirmation e-mail we got. My friend did ask if it was not 45 euro/night because he vaguely remember getting that price. The owner said that the 45 euro/night price was only if someone stayed 7 nights or longer and that the price for staying shorter was 50 euro/night. 5 minutes later we read the e-mail and decided to ask the owner about this (he lives in the same building). We showed him the e-mail and asked about it. The owner insisted that the price was 50 euro/night and that the computer made a mistake. We know the difference is not that big and we are not trying to be cheap by posting this review. We just felt cheated because what we had to pay was not the same as what the e-mail stated.Because of this reason, I don't think I would be staying here again.
