Amazing Stay at elaya Hotel Vienna City Center

    rating13 Apr 2026

Amazing Stay at elaya Hotel Vienna City CenterFrom the moment we walked into elaya hotel vienna city center trademark by wyndham, everything just felt easy and welcoming. We stayed for three nights, and the service the entire time was truly top-notch.A huge thank you to Franck, who honestly made our stay unforgettable. From the second we arrived, he was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Throughout our stay, he went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. He noticed the little things, checked in at the right moments, and made everything run smoothly without us ever having to ask. You can tell he genuinely cares about guests having a great experience, which is rare to find. The location is perfect—right in the center of Vienna and close to everything. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere, which made exploring the city so easy. The room was spacious, very clean, and super comfortable. The bed was great after long days of sightseeing. The rest of the staff were also really friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better.Overall, this stay couldn’t have gone better. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna.

Terrible Experience: Rude Staff, Moldy Showers, and Hidden Charges - Avoid!

    rating15 Dec 2025

I am an experienced international and domestic traveler, having stayed over 150 nights in hotels in 2025 alone, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend Elaya Hotel, where we just stayed this week.Despite the website listing AC as an amenity, it did not work during the winter. We were charged an unexpected extra €20 per room per night, on top of the price already paid at booking. Breakfast, advertised as included, came at an additional €20 per person and was easily the worst I’ve encountered in any country. The shower was a disaster: it didn’t drain, leaving ~4 inches of dirty water by the end, was full of mold and mildew, and lacked a proper door or curtain, flooding the entire bathroom floor. The staff were rude and unprofessional. When I politely asked for the AC to be turned on, the front desk refused until I said “please,” commenting condescendingly that “it’s common sense for the AC not to work in winter.” My wife was yelled at when questioning the unexpected room charge late at night (11 PM), long after check-in.As an American traveler, I would strongly advise against staying here. For the price and experience, this hotel falls far below standard expectations. Franck Ilunga, Other at Elaya city center, responded to this review Dear Casey,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for staying with us. Honestly, I need to clarify several points because what you are claiming really does not reflect reality. You state that you are an experienced international and domestic traveler, with over 150 hotel nights in 2025 alone. However, even with such experience, you appear not to be aware that booking two rooms for two persons does not allow four persons to stay without additional charges. I personally handled your check-in. While entering your personal details into our system, it became clear that the reservation had been made for 2 guests instead of 4. For this reason, I politely informed you that additional charges would apply and advised you to double-check your booking confirmation.Following this, the conversation became tense. You raised a complaint regarding the air conditioning, and I calmly explained that during the winter season our hotel operates in heating mode, so the AC is deactivated. This is standard practice in many European hotels. Despite this explanation, the discussion continued in an unfriendly manner. When I asked that communication remain polite, you stated that, having paid for the hotel, you did not need to say “please.” Any claim that I acted rudely or unprofessionally is therefore inaccurate. At no point were you or your wife shouted at. In fact, during the exchange, I explicitly asked whether my conduct had been rude, unfair, or impolite.Regarding breakfast, our booking system clearly distinguishes between room-only and room-with-breakfast reservations. Breakfast was not included in your booking, as clearly indicated on your confirmation. We take guest feedback seriously and always strive to treat all guests fairly, professionally, and with respect. However, we cannot accept inappropriate behavior toward our staff or claims that contradict documented booking details and the events that occurred.Kind regards, Franck I. from the elaya hotel vienna city center

Very good, clean and well located hotel. The staff is very attentious, the room is good and the breakfast is also very good, although I gues hotels would serve freshly squeezed oranje juice. Decent room very centrally located.

    rating17 Sept 2025

The main plus for this “hotel” is its great location. The rooms are good sizes and well kept with very comfy beds. However I’m not really sure that it is a hotel. It has rooms plus a tiny breakfast room with a very limited range of food options. You seem to be able to order drinks from a ten item menu but there is no lounge or any other public area. There is one basic very shared toilet in the basement. Staff are pleasant and helpful. If you’re looking for a decent room well located at a decent price then this might work for you. Expect no more.

Warm Welcome, Central Location and Thoughtful Service

    rating06 Sept 2025

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and genuine welcome from Franck, whose professionalism and attentiveness made an immediate impression. He handled our check-in efficiently, clearly explained the breakfast arrangements and hotel amenities, and then pointed us in the direction of our rooms. We were pleased to find that the hotel had arranged for our rooms to be located side by side—a thoughtful detail that didn’t go unnoticed. The rooms had clearly been refreshed since some of the older photos online, with a more modern design and updated features. While the overall look was contemporary, a few elements could benefit from further improvement—for instance, the curtains didn’t fully block out the light and in one room didn’t cover the entire window, and the wardrobes retained a slightly rustic feel. That said, everything was clean, and the bedding was fresh. We did find the mattresses quite firm and the pillows softer than preferred, but this may come down to personal comfort. Each room included complimentary WiFi, a coffee machine, and an optional kettle for other hot drinks, which added a nice touch of convenience. The hotel is tucked away on a side street, yet remains very central—less than a five-minute walk to the heart of Vienna, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions nearby.Franck was incredibly helpful in recommending a variety of local dining options on our first evening, catering to different tastes and preferences. His local insight made exploring the area even more enjoyable.Breakfast was generous and varied, with a selection of hot dishes, fresh pastries, breads, cereals, yoghurts, juices, cold meats, cheeses, and cakes—truly something for everyone. Hot drinks were served at the table by friendly and attentive staff. On our final morning, breakfast was kindly prepared early to accommodate our flight schedule, which we greatly appreciated.A highlight of our stay was when a member of our group celebrated a special birthday. Thanks to Franck and the team, the occasion was made memorable with a surprise arrangement in the room including chocolates, fruit, cake, and champagne—a truly thoughtful and personal touch that meant a lot to us.Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would gladly return. Franck’s outstanding service and attention to detail made our stay feel special and well cared for—he is a true credit to the hotel. Franck Ilunga, Other at Elaya city center, responded to this review Dear Guest,Reading your wonderful review truly made my day!thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed experience with us . It was such a pleasure to welcome you and your group to Vienna, and I’m delighted to hear that you felt well cared for from the moment you arrived.I’m especially happy that the small touches, from arranging side-by-side rooms to the birthday surprise, added to the enjoyment of your stay.Thank you as well for your thoughtful feedback on areas we can improve, such as the curtains and wardrobe, this is very valuable to us as we continue to refresh and enhance the hotel. It means a lot to me personally to know that my recommendations and assistance helped make your time in Vienna more enjoyable. I’ll also be sure to pass along your kind words to the entire team, they’ll be thrilled to know their efforts left such a positive impression. We’re so glad your visit was memorable, and I truly hope to welcome you back again soon for another stay in Vienna.Warm regards,Franck I. from the elaya hotel vienna city center
