    Great hotel for Dulles

    rating25 May 2026

I was pleasantly surprised by all aspects of this hotel. The rooms were really good with plenty of space and all the expected amenities. In addition, they have a super nice shower. They have a nice area for dinner and a big buffet at breakfast. The location is about 10 minutes or less from Dulles. DoubleTree by Hilton Washington Dulles A, at DoubleTree by Hilton Washington Dulles Airport, responded to this review Thank you very much for staying with us. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the expansive breakfast buffet and the atmosphere of the Cardinal Lounge. We are just 3 miles from Dulles Airport. We hope you can stay with us again.

    Odd hotel

    rating22 May 2026

The oddest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. No mini mart but a gift shop that isn’t open?? Walls are thinner than a piece of paper. Woke up in the middle of the night thinking someone was in our room, but it was just the people next door talking. Food was good but very expensive. DoubleTree by Hilton Washington Dulles A, at DoubleTree by Hilton Washington Dulles Airport, responded to this review Thank you for your response. We are sorry that you were disturbed during your rest period. The gift shop is operated by a 3rd party vendor. We will speak to her about the accessibility of the times she is open.

What a long way this property has fallen.

    rating21 May 2026

I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but this stay honestly felt like watching a once-decent hotel slowly give up on itself. This property feels deeply disinvested in. Not “retro,” not “classic airport hotel,” just worn down and neglected. The whole place has an extremely dated appearance that could maybe work if they leaned into the vintage character, but instead it just feels decrepit and tired. The problems started piling up quickly. I was charged for parking despite never parking a car there. The pool was closed, even though the hotel photos still advertise it and the digital key information literally referenced pool access. That felt misleading more than anything else. The low point was breakfast. As a Hilton Lifetime Diamond member, I know how the food & beverage credit system works, but nobody mentioned the buffet exceeded the credit amount. I ended up paying $23 for one of the most underwhelming hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time and I’ve stayed in many far less expensive properties with much better food and service.Service overall was minimal to nonexistent. One front desk employee was genuinely nice and funny, which stood out because nearly every other interaction including text communication with staff felt curt and transactional as if they were constantly having to play defense which I totally understand given the state of the property. This hotel honestly feels like a property in slow decline where ownership has stopped investing but keeps charging as if the experience still matches the brand. I will never stay here again.

    Good Hotel Bad Guests

    rating18 May 2026

2/5 because during my two week trip there was 4 or 5 groups of students that came through and were yelling all night and into the morning. Hotel management “tried” to keep them quiet and I understand kids having fun but sandwiching someone into a hallway of high schoolers for two weeks doesn’t yield a great experience (I tried to change my room too). The room itself was clean and nice, the hotel is near the airport and is within a short drive of a lot of stuff, there’s no longer a pool but the gym is surprisingly decent. My company paid for my room and food so I’m unsure on the value for the stay, but the dinner is excellent and delicious, the breakfast is slightly above average.Going forward they need to be better with scheduling and where they place guests (literally just reserve the end of a floor for massive parties like that), having chaperones running around at 5 in the morning banging on my door because mixed up room numbers made my day iffy.My stay would’ve been a 4/5 if all that didn’t happen, still withholding one star because the listing said the hotel had a pool and hot tub which they got rid of a year or two ago. DoubleTree by Hilton Washington Dulles A, at DoubleTree by Hilton Washington Dulles Airport, responded to this review Thank you for letting us know about the issues you encountered. We definitely try not to have othere guests near the students. We are sorry about the issue with the pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, Google is unwilling to remove pictures posted by hotel guests even though we have let them know the pool has been closed.

    Customer service is nonexistent

    rating15 May 2026

We stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton Dulles Airport because it was close to the airport and we could leave the next morning to drive to our son’s college graduation. This seemed convenient and since my husband is Diamond Preferred with Hilton, we thought it would be a sweet time with our youngest to celebrate his hard work. The line at the reception desk was long, but thankfully we received digital keys for our rooms (1 for us and 1 for our son). Signage was not great to find an elevator, but at least we bipassed the line. Upon entering the rooms I felt I’d reentered the 1980’s. We laughed about it, but also were perplexed. Both rooms were good sized but only one chair to relax in and a dated tv that you could not cast on. We hadn’t brought an HDMI cable so there was no watching anything together. We’re good at talking but the room was a little sad. Definitely the time travel continued when we went to dinner in the hotel restaurant. Nothing matched…and not in a good way…and the chairs we sat in felt very unstable. The atmosphere was more of a cafeteria. The food was okay. We doordashed something more appetizing later…dasher was great. You do have to pay $20 a day for parking…if you can find it. My husband drove around for 20 minutes the first night to get a far away space. And the second night there was a prom at the hotel and we finally found 1 of the last 2 spaces at the back of the hotel and had to walk around to the front to reenter. But the most disappointing was that night 1 the rooms were hot and stuffy. The temperature would drop enough that we’d rest, but then the temperature would rise again. We asked for a fan the next morning. We were going to be gone all day to graduation. We were told that they don’t usually do fans but they could “look at the AC”. So the photos show the temperature that maintenance set our AC for at 64 and the temperature it actually was at 71 when we returned. And the temperature kept going up. So while we heard all the prom party in our halls at 12:30 am, we requested a fan. But we were told there is nothing they could do. So if you want a comfy place to rest your head and have a meal, this is not the place.
