We stayed at this Crown Plaza for one night before a cruise. It's about a 45-minute taxi drive from LAX depending on traffic. Very nice hotel and friendly staff. There are restaurants within a short walk. This hotel has a restaurant and bar. We had diner in the bar with drinks and breakfast in the morning. The breakfast is a hot and cold buffet. Upon check-in we signed up for a shuttle to our ship which was a 5-to-7-minute trip. There was an $11 charge for the shuttle. My only complaint was that we got to the hotel about 10 AM. Even though there was a room available the hotel charged a $50 early check-in fee since check-in was 3 PM. Great room, horrible check in process.

Room was excellent once we got it. Check in was a disaster. Room was not ready at check in time but did all the check in process. Was told I would receive a text when ready and all I would need to do is pick up my key, I did not receive a text. Came back 2.5 hours later to find a line of 26 individual groups waiting to check in. Spent an additional 1 hour waiting in line just to get my key. I honestly felt sorry for the people working the check in desk. I know none of this was their fault and they seemed extremely overwhelmed. They were very kind and apologetic regarding the situation. No hot water in the shower and no replies to my emails.

Good location for a stay prior to a cruise, bed comfortable and harbour views. Room was a bit tired like the rest of the hotel and we only got one towel for the second nights stay. Mostly minor issues, however, at NZ $677 for 2 nights one would have expected to have had hot water in the shower. We notified reception on the first morning but it wasn’t fixed and reported it again at check out being told we would be contacted. Never happened apart from a request for feedback from manager Rob Pena upon arrival back home. I replied twice giving IHG Crowne Plaza LA ample time to set things right. Still waiting weeks later and hence my lowly score but honest feedback. I notice this was a problem for another guest recently and its really pretty simple “Do the right thing” please. Great location for cruisers!

We stayed in this hotel before a cruise. While the hotel is a little older, it is in a great location…walking distance to the San Pedro Fish Market (DELICIOUS and FRIENDLY). They offer a $20 pp shuttle to the cruise port (5 min ride) AND an Enterprise car rental is attached to the hotel, which is a very convenient option if you need a car. Breakfast is included ( a lovely buffet) and the staff were very friendly. It was busy. The bed was great and the shower was good. The jacuzzi was warm. If I ever go pick someone up at the cruise port I would stay here. Close to restaurants too.
