**** AVOID AT ALL COSTS ****

    rating28 Jun 2026

This was one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. The room had a strong, rancid smell that suggested it had suffered flood damage in the past. It was dirty, damp, and felt unhygienic. The condition of the room was so poor that we genuinely considered it a health hazard. When we raised our concerns, we were told that neither member of staff on duty was qualified to deal with our complaint. We repeatedly asked to speak to the manager, who was not on site, but despite several requests, they refused to speak with us over the phone. The lack of customer service was just as disappointing as the condition of the room. Our concerns were not taken seriously, and no satisfactory solution was offered.Overall, the accommodation was completely unacceptable, and the handling of our complaint was even worse. Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here.

    DONT book this hotel

    rating25 Mar 2026

Well I am stunned at the poor customer service of this hotel, and I have not even checked in yet! I simply made a request to change the date of our stay by one day and its a flat NO! utterly shocked at the 'computer says no' of the reception team - next stop to find the leadership - but none listed anywhere so I have tracked down the owner - and will be writing to him to address this horrible service standard. Clearly I am suggesting you DO NOT BOOK into this hotel as the dont care - they are not interested and are prepared to charge me for a night that I simply cant use now as I have a wedding to attend. Its 4 months away from my booking by the way so I dont think I am being at all unreasonable - I just wanted to push back by one night and extend - they have availability and I really thought it would be a no brainer for anyone with an element of common sense - the reception guy just said no - email head office if you are not happy..... its completely unreasonable

Damp rooms, dirty carpets, stay elsewhere

    rating05 Nov 2025

This is one of the worst hotels that I have stayed at. My room was on the lower ground, the upper floors may be better. The carpet was filthy and heavily stained and there was chipped woodwork throughout. The worst part was the damp, peeling walls spreading up the outside wall. The mattress was lumpy and very soft, completely worn out. Trains from the underground pass every 5 mins and you can hear each one, I thought it was a boiler at first. The breakfast was cheap, floppy white bread and cereal. Please spend a bit more and stay elsewhere. The location is really good and with some investment it could be a great little hotel. I also felt very vulnerable as a solo traveler, but that may be due to the room being so awful that I just hated the place. Couldn’t wait until the morning to leave. On a plus, the bathroom was very clean.

Basic - You Get What You Pay for but Fine for a Few Nights

    rating24 Jul 2025

Honestly, this hotel was not as bad as some of the reviews here made it seem. I had three nights free with Choice points, and as I was on a very long trip through several countries, it made sense to save some money in London, where the exchange rate with the USD right now makes everything more expensive. Pros: Check in process was easy, and the front desk clerk was efficient and kind. Every staff person I encountered was friendly and helpful. The location is great in terms of being very walkable to everything around Hyde Park/Kensington Palace and close to multiple Tube stations. There are a lot of options for food and entertainment close by. Breakfast is included, and even though it's not a full English breakfast, for me, having the ability to grab cereal, a pastry, some fruit and some coffee or tea each morning was great and welcomed. They replenish the breakfast area throughout the service and have a fairly long window of time in the morning that it's open. The hotel is also on a pretty quiet street and easy to find. The lift was working during my stay. Rooms contain a tea kettle and coffee/tea supplies. The air conditioning worked in my room, and the hot water worked, as well. Cons: Rooms are small (to be expected) and could use a makeover. The carpeting was tired in my room, and there were some chipped places around baseboards and cabinetry. The room decor in general was very much "serviceable dorm room" style. The bathroom was very, very tiny but adequate; however, the angle of the narrow sink to fit in the space made it almost impossible to splash water on one's face without getting water all over the floor. The bed was not all that comfortable, and I honestly don't know if I could have slept on it more than a few nights. I was in a basement room next to the lift, so it was quiet, but as a single female traveler, it did feel a little unsettling with all the other hallways and maintenance and storage areas in the basement and a lot of random people coming and going. Overall, if I needed a budget place to stay in London again, I would definitely consider this hotel in the future, and since I booked it with points, I'm not going to complain too much about its attributes. However, I wouldn't want to stay here for more than a few nights.

The not so Comfort Inn, featuring ant colonies & bed bugs

    rating21 May 2025

If you’re after non-existent customer service who believe that asking them to “apply common sense” is somehow abusive after requesting a room change due to a failed window unit, unclean room and a resident ant colony, with other rooms (according to a couple checking out an hour after checking in) infested with bed bugs, then this is the dive for you! Quite possibly one of the most disgusting hotels in The Hyde Park / Bayswater area. On the bright side for international travellers, you’ll possibly need to incinerate all of your clothes and possessions so your return flights should have reduced baggage weight l adding to lower return flight costs because you won’t have any bags to check!!
