Good beach Hotel
Myself and my wife stayed at this hotel for four nights and it was a brilliant hotel from start to finish. The hotel is absolutely spotless and extremely clean. The bed is so comfortable and is made everyday. The room is well equipped with a mini fridge and safe. There are large bottles of shower gel, shampoo, body lotion and hand wash which is great. The reception staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much bother for them, particularly the lady with the dark curly hair (we didn’t get her name) she was very pleasant and also the man with the beard on reception helped us fix an issue we were having with our blinds which was much appreciated. My wife does not like elevators and the reception staff opened the door for us to use the stairs when they saw us coming into the hotel each time before we even had to ask them, which was excellent service. The hotel is right beside a metro station which unfortunately for us was too far away from the centre as we had to get two metros to the centre, however this is nothing to do with the hotel, just something to note if you plan on going to the centre often as the metros can be very busy and we had to change lines each time. We didn’t avail of breakfast in the hotel so can’t comment on that however I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to stay in the area as it’s fabulous and so clean.
The hotel is right next to the metro which is handy as it is 5 stops from the city centre so too far to walk. However as the metro runs from 5am to 1am it also means that you will hear the trains whilst trying to sleep and you can't open the window as it is too noisy. The bed was a good size but takes up most of the room. The bathroom layout is really odd with a tiny room with toilet and sink and then a separate shower in the bedroom. No idea why they couldn't be in the same room. There is one small hanging rail for clothes but no drawers or shelves for t-shirts etc. The website states robes are provided but I had to ask for these after pointing this out. There is a coffee machine with two coffee pods provided ( no milk )so we asked for two more and were charged €2 each for these when we left! There is a small safe and a mini fridge which was empty, not even any water provided and not in keeping with a 4 star hotel. Porto is lovely but if I come back I will not be staying here again as there are many far better options.
Spotlessly clean room, shower and bathroom. Shower did not flood the room in our case. Very comfortable big bed taking up most of the room. Not a lot of circulation space or place to put clothes. Booked room only and staff advised nearby bakeries for breakfast which worked fine for us. No kettle on arrival but staff provided this with no fuss. Nearby metro sound didn’t bother us and its proximity was ideal for trips into city (3 stops). Boavista indoor food mall excellent within 5 minutes walking. Good value for what it cost. Would stay there again. The construction of a new metro line opposite does create a bit of noise but if you’re out during the day it’s not a problem (not the hotel’s fault)!
Definitely not a 4 star hotel. No restaurant facilities only basic breakfast.Basic facilities throughout. The metro trains were in an open topped tunnel 15 metres from our room.(picture 2)The noise was similar to a jet taking off 18-20 hours per day.)The shower was in the room and had no barrier at bottom of door so room flooded when you shower.(picture 3)A coffee machine that had no capsules or milk or sugar. No wardrobe only 2 small drawers.(picture 4)It is an up market Youth Hostel. The 2 stars are for staff only
This hotel is away from the historical centre but connected to the metro. The reception staff were very helpful as was the restaurant staff, specially Jessica. Breakfast was widespread. The room was comfortable with all amenities. The only disadvantage was the noise level of the metro running underground.
