A lovely place to stay in Queenstown!

    rating16 Jun 2026

We had such a lovely stay at Sudima Queenstown! The location was perfect, it was close to everything we needed while still being a comfortable place to unwind after a day of exploring.Although we weren’t able to stay in the room we originally booked due to maintenance on Level 3, the team looked after us well and we still had a wonderful experience. Most importantly, we got the rest and relaxation we needed during our trip. The staff were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, which made a big difference. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sudima Queenstown to others. Looking forward to coming back!

Great stop over hotel in the Queenstown area

    rating30 Apr 2026

We were looking for a hotel for one night near the airport in Queenstown for our early flight out. I had searched Trip Advisor and the chain hotels were either sold out or didn't have very good reviews. I came across this one, and what stood out was it didn't have many reviews yet (usually meaning it's fairly new), and the reviews it had were positive, and best of all it offered free parking and was fairly priced for the area. Queenstown has a chronic parking problem and a lot of the hotels don't have enough parking for the customers, and if they have parking, they charge for it. The kind of odd thing about this hotel is it is attached to a mall, different. So we booked it, and I have to say it was great. There were no negatives to this place. It was clean, quiet. The beds were really comfortable. Our room had a safe, kettle, tea, plenty of plugs. The water pressure was good. The only drawback, if you consider it one, is it is not right in the heart of Queenstown. Honestly, for the money you'll save staying here, if you have a car, stay here, park for free, and just drive into the CBD and park in the public parking and have a look around or go for a meal. It's not a big place. You could easily see all of it in a couple of hours. Would highly recommend this place. Ali Appelman, General Manager at Sudima Queenstown Five Mile, responded to this review Kia ora Nicky,Thank you for your fantastic review, we’re so pleased you discovered us and that we were a great fit for your overnight stay before your early flight. It’s great to hear you found the hotel clean, quiet, and comfortable, and that the room amenities and parking added to the ease of your stay. As you mentioned, parking can be a challenge in Queenstown, so we’re glad our free and convenient option made a difference. Our location within the Five Mile precinct is certainly a little different, but many guests enjoy the balance of being close to the airport with easy access to shops, dining, and a quick drive into town.We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back again on your next visit to Queenstown.Ngā mihi,Ali AppelmanHotel Manager

Excellent for families with small children

    rating28 Apr 2026

We stayed for 6 nights in a Deluxe Family room. We recommend this place if you are looking for a modern hotel with easy parking that is well-suited to families, especially with young children.Location:This was a big plus for us. The hotel is located in the corner of an outdoor shopping mall. Woolworths is just on the other side of the parking lot, which is hugely convenient if you need to pick up supplies and fresh food/snacks for little ones, and there are lots of restaurant options nearby. It is around the corner from the airport, about 10 min from Queenstown and 15 min from Arrowtown. Parking was super easy and free. Although their website says to go to the basement level of the car park and obtain a parking tag, hotel staff told us to just park in one of the spaces in the corner of the parking lot next to the hotel entrance (there are a few spots labelled as for the hotel and there was usually one available, but you don't have to use those), and there is no tag to take; you just tell the hotel staff your rego. If you don't have a car, there is a bus stop right outside. Hotel Room:The rooms are fairly modern. Noise insulation was excellent despite being next to a busy intersection and a stone's throw from the airport. Ducted heating had digital controls and worked reasonably well. The shower was on the smaller side, but water flow and temperature were excellent. There are no slippers; our room had bathrobes, but I gather this is not the case for all the rooms. Internet was fast, easy to connect, and reliable. The TVs had Chromecast capabilities and accessible HDMI inputs. Our shower door leaked, but management fixed this on the same day after we reported it. Unfortunately, housekeeping was a bit inconsistent (sometimes beds were not made neatly, toilet paper/tissues not replaced) but management were very response to our feedback. For those traveling with little ones, the hotel provided a cot upon request (free of charge), and thoughtfully also added a baby bath, teddy bear, and extra plastic bags for nappies, which was much appreciated.Breakfast:Buffet breakfasts are very convenient for young children as all the food is immediately available. There was only one morning when it was almost full; otherwise there was plenty of seating. For those interested in exactly what was offered, the buffet included: hot food (sausages, bacon, baked beans, scrambled egg (eggs available other ways upon request for no charge), mushroom with spinach, and fried rice), sliced bread and bagels with condiments, pancakes, croissants, danishes, cereal, milk (full cream/skim/oat), juice (orange, apple, pineapple, as well as a fresh DIY juicer with apples/carrots/celery provided), tea, coffee (pre-made in an urn; fresh coffee is extra), fruit salad, pineapple slices, and various yogurts. Ali Appelman, General Manager at Sudima Queenstown Five Mile, responded to this review Kia ora,Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review, we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It’s fantastic to hear that your family enjoyed your room and found the hotel well-suited for travelling with young children. We’re especially pleased the small touches like the baby bath, teddy, and nappy bags made a difference, i myself have young children and know how these small touches can really help when traveling, it’s those details we hope help families feel more at home.I’m glad our location, parking, and nearby amenities worked so well for your stay, and that you found the room comfortable and well insulated. It’s also great to hear our team responded quickly to resolve the shower issue, thank you for highlighting that.I do apologise for the inconsistency you experienced with housekeeping. This isn’t the standard we aim for, and your feedback has been shared with the team to ensure we improve in this area. We’re delighted you would recommend us and hope to welcome you and your family back again soon.Ngā mihi,Ali AppelmanHotel Manager

    Not a great experience

    rating24 Dec 2025

Super disappointed :( Food was bland, and both salmon and lamb were medium rare, very hard to eat. Doneness wasn’t asked and even after raising the issue, they told us they cannot recook and remake. Paid $80 each for a 2 course meal plus surcharge just to unbelievably try finishing the food. Service is okay tho not a hotel type experience. Fried chicken starter was good tho. I personally wouldn’t go back to this place :( Ali Appelman, General Manager at Sudima Queenstown Five Mile, responded to this review Kia Ora Gelcura,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent experience in our Restaurant Podium. I’m genuinely sorry to hear how disappointing you found your dining experience; this is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver at Podium.I apologise that the doneness of your meals wasn’t checked prior to service, and I’m particularly concerned to hear that we didn’t offer to recook or remake the dishes when this was raised. That should absolutely have been done, and I’ve addressed this directly with our kitchen and service teams, so it’s handled properly moving forward.I do appreciate you acknowledging the fried chicken starter and the service, but I understand that this doesn’t make up for the overall experience falling short. Your feedback is important to us and will be used to improve both food quality and how concerns are resolved in the moment.Thank you again for your feedback.Ngā mihi nui,Ali AppelmanHotel ManagerSudima Queenstown Five Mile
