Klima Hotel Milano Fiere

We had a pleasant stay at the Klima hotel with very polite staff and a large clean air conditioned room with a nice buffet selection of breakfast in the morning HOWEVER the location was awful, it stated that it was within decent walking distance from the centre of Milan but with the way the roads work it would be over a 2 hour walk which would be impractical but also very unsafe as the area surrounding the hotel was a safety concern. The street next to the hotel was occupied by people living in caravans and the surrounding area had rubbish everywhere. When me and my partner attempted to walk to the nearest public transport we were chased by kids throwing large chunks of wood at us and were cat called by men. This experience left us feeling completely unsafe, especially as 2 girls in our early 20s, and meant we spent over €150 on taxis in 3 days, which is obviously not the fault of the hotel but a heads up would’ve been nice. The nearest shop was over a 30 minute walk away as the hotel was in the middle of an industrial area so if you wanted to buy water you’d have to walk this far, as you had to pay for water at the hotel. Other than this the hotel itself was lovely however I would only recommend it to someone willing to spend a fortune on taxis or if you are driving yourself.
