Good beach Hotel
Hotel average yet clean and presentable. If you are going for a business trip and need access to WiFi don’t bother. It simply does not work, no video calls, no transferring files (I tried and time to transfer was 4 hours which would take less than a minute at the office/home office). Not fit for purpose for business but for the holiday crowd it is fine but def not inspiring. Location OK
We had a comfortable 4 night stay. The room was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed in the room including a kettle, mini fridge and a hairdryer. We had breakfast one morning which was nice and there was plenty to choose from. The staff were helpful and friendly and even called a taxi for us to the airport. The location is good, a short walk to plaza mayor square. There are also plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby. A few tips that might be helpful. The nearest metro station is Puerta de Toledo. We traveled on the metro from the airport to the hotel, at this station there are a lot of steps to climb and we had heavy suitcases therefore this was a bit of a challenge, from the station to the hotel it is uphill. We found that the next station along La Latina was easier as there were more escalators available although still had some steps to climb, it’s also downhill towards the hotel. The station steps were only a problem when we had luggage therefore on the return journey to the airport we took a taxi which was €33, the hotel staff kindly booked this for us. There is a cafeteria in the hotel and also sandwiches and snacks available to buy from reception, this was very useful when we arrived late. Lovely hotel and I would stay again. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. The rooms are very clean and modern, the breakfast has lots of choice both continental and traditional. The hotel is situated a 10-15 minute walk from Plaza Mayor with lots of cafe bars and shops along the route. The best part of our stay at the hotel was the friendly and extremely helpful reception staff especially Juan Antonio who certainly went "over and above" his duties in sorting out another room for us. Madrid being such a large city has lots to do and see and so would recommend the "Hop on/Hop off" buses to get around and learn about it's history.
I paid for an attic apartment with a terrace (which I assumed would have a view). I had a view of a dirty white wall and a chimney. I tried to change to another unit, but was told none were available even though online a few did seem to be available. Other rooms seemed to turn on their fans/air conditioning at night. This disrupted my sleep. Good cleaning service, and most of the receptionists were helpful, one was not (Luis).
Lovely hotel, clean and friendly staff. Room spotless, bright and airy. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. It's very close to the shops and restaurants all being a short away. We visited in Feb and it was cold so never got to see the pool.
