Tremendous Free Breakfast at Tobu Hotel Asakusa

    rating17 Jun 2026

This hotel comes with a free breakfast buffet and vouchers that you give at the reception. The Western and Japanese food served was super good, and they offer the interesting Calpis yogurt drink, simple fruit juices, and milk as their drinks. There is also free coffee for all hotel guests. The room looks very nice with a Japanese style, and there are also complimentary kimono pajamas and slippers. The room is a quite small and not very spacious, but the beds are wide and comfortable. They have lots of free amenities like toothbrushes, razors, cottonbuds, etc. for people who need them. You can take as much as you need. The toothbrushes and razors are even made from recycled plastic.Lastly, the receptionists speak good english. There is also a free gift if you follow their instagram page. Overall the hotel is also very clean, peaceful, and value for money, and it is only a few blocks away from the Sen-soji Temple and the Kaminarimon area.

    Perfect for first time especially!

    rating28 May 2026

Perfect location! Impeccably clean, helpful staff, good breakfast. To be honest it was a little intimidating planning a trip to Tokyo. We were so glad we picked this hotel and area! It was Golden Week so the ability to sight see in the early morning or late evening was perfect. Steps from the shopping area and temple, from the station, from restaurants and 7/11 of course! Skytree was in view and the Ashai flame were visible landmarks. Uneo park was one stop away. The staff were always helpful and with the corner room we felt like we had enough space. Highly recommend especially for first timers who may find Shinjuku too busy.

    Tiny and inconvenient

    rating15 May 2026

Daughter and I shared a twin room so tiny we had to get around the beds sideways. No where to open the luggage. The sink is in the corridor with barely enough room to put a toothbrush. Curtained don’t block out the light and the room was noisy. The beds are hard and everything felt cheap. Did not enjoy our stay here.

great hotel in the heart of asakusa

    rating26 Apr 2026

This is a great hotel in the heart of asakusa, and within walking distance to subways, senso-ji temple, asakusa sumo club, etc. The hotel also has great views of the skytree, which is pretty at night. The rooms are small, but it’s tokyo, so that’s part of the experience! Even though the rooms are small, they could make so much more use of the space they have. For e.g., they could continue the small built-in cabinet across the whole one wall, with innovative use of the space for suitcases, etc.Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the staff are helpful and accommodating. There’s a mini fridge and safe in the room, as well as a smart TV.The bathroom is typical for asia: a room just for the toilet, another as a shower/bath room, and then the sink is separate and accessible. The problem with the shower room is that there were no hooks or rails anywhere, for towels, or your clothing, nothing. I used the edge of the bath to pile everything that i needed, which was less than ideal. They also need to add lots of hooks by the sink for toiletry bags, etc. The shower had good pressure and temperature consistency. There was shampoo, conditioner, body wash, but no lotion (which is typical for asia). Also, a note about the lighting: There’s a light switch for the toilet room, and another for the shower, but all the rest of the lighting is controlled by a pad by the bed. This is fine except for there being no switch near the sink, which is right next to the entryway, and behind the shower room, so it’s very dark. You have to exit the toilet, go over to the bed, turn on the light to the sink, and then go wash your hands. It’s either that, or leave the lights on all the time, but we don’t like wasting electricity. The breakfast was excellent – smallish, but very good quality. There’s tea, coffee, juice, an egg / sushi-like station (the eggs benedict were amazing), bread/toast, pastries, yogurt, fruit, cereal, fried potatoes, and noodles.All-in-all a great hotel.

    Choose for efficiency only

    rating18 Apr 2026

Hotel is conveniently located but it is in a very very touristy busy area. Close to trains. Room is very compact, no space to open a big luggage..you have to crab walk around the bed. Efficiency vs comfort is why you wil choose this hotel.
