I would not recommend staying at this hotel. It is not a 5 star hotel. When we arrived to the hotel I was greeted by Jelena who was quite rude, I supplied her with the hotel voucher but she said u should print it. I had it on my Phone so thought thats not a problem. She gave me an e-mail address and told me ‚You have to send your voucher to this email’. I don’t have to do anything as it’s their responsibility to find my booking. Another guest was waiting to be served in the reception area - she said ‘go to someone else, I’m busy’. How rude! On the other hand, Ramez was great very helpful and very polite. Another issue was room card, they deactivate quickly. Three times we arrived to our room and we couldn’t get in. Even though the card was kept away from phones. Another issue was dinner service. Not even once we were given cutlery or offered a drink. Not a 5 star service. Italian restaurant is horrible. They use a ready made dough. Small variety of food in the main restaurant, but u have few other restaurants to choose from. Make sure you are there on time though, cause it takes ages for the waiters to take order and get food, I was under the impression they are understaffed. On one occasion 7 of us were waiting for at least 15 mins, while 3 waiters were setting up one table. Never seen this before in my life, especially in a allegedly 5 star hotel. Most bars are dirty and staff are not interested in helping you. However, Lobby waiting staff were great, can’t fault them! We were staying in the old building with old, disgusting bathroom, stinking of sewage. Shower cabin growing mould all over. No wifi in the rooms - we were told we will get a portable router. Five times we asked for it, we never got it. Bad service, bad room, food eatable but repetitive, annoying room card, no coconut milk for 3 days to make pinnacolada 😅 I am definitely not coming back. As a woman I felt like most male staff were staring at me in a sexual way. Many made inappropriate comments. One good thing - hotel is located near the high street.
Stayed here for one week with a buddy for a weeks sun and relaxation. The sun didn't disappoint. Bad Bits: They advertise as a art deco hotel - the reality is, old and tired Evenings are a bit of a washout - If you want a relaxing time in the evenings, don't get a room by the pool...the noise from the DJ is astounding. (And also periodically on the beach) There is a great little stage area down by the marina, why they don't hold their 'showtime' down there, I don't know...it would also make good use of the marina bar and shisha bar that always looked so empty. The lobby bar has great service but also music with speakers so you can only chat in-between tunes We asked for a later check out..told 10 dollars an hour but there are changing rooms by the pool so you don't really need your room..whether they let us keep hold of towels..we will see. I also asked if they'd had a black neck pillow handed in..the really abrupt guy at reception said he wanted more information. I didn't take measurements or look at material info..so don't know what else he needed. Very strange seeing as it's surely not among 100 lost ones? Never heard back from him Good bits: The greatest people were the waiters in the Waves bar..especially Khaled and the guys on the beach..especially Atef.. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Id like to say how hard the staff work. The hours they put in and the way the majority work tirelessly to make your holiday a good one is brilliant. A lot of managers, dotted about having coffee If you want some great perfumes, Ahmed is lovely in the perfume/oil shop at the hotel. He has some great smells in there. I picked up an oil that smells identical to Sauvage and some great creams. The other selling shops, I'd avoid..very bullyish and cheaper at home in the UK. There is a great shop a short walk from the hotel called Oriental, where all the goods are labelled with prices and a very friendly man. Highly recommend an amazing boat trip from Mohammed at Aqua Fun..he comes around the beds or you can go and book at the marina...another unforgettable snorkeling trip after a lovely cocktail on Magawish island. The food was ok! Pebbles had the most selection and always fresh and hot enough from all the places supplying food..all the eating places were ok to be fair - just not as much choice as in main restaurant as you would imagine. Waves bar do a bbq every night and they bring a tray of meat straight to you..its a lot..and so tasty Even though i did quite a bit of eyerolling, the location is great as is the beach...lovely beach! Great time thanks to the mentioned few..but has changed for the worst compared to when i came in 2019 as the Hilton.. The building is tired, the staff are overworked, the reception guy not helpful - loud music in the lobby bar (can't chat), louder still by the pool in the evenings (can't hear yourself think) Sad to see the lower paid members of staff so friendly and the others not so much...will never come back to this hotel..there is much better close by!
The staff are outstanding in their customer service skills we are coming year after year as we feel welcome, cared for and being safe. It is easy to book travels around Egypt with the travel agency. We are going back in October 2024.
Just returned from a week at the Swiss Inn Resort, Hurghada. Once we'd negotiated the Visa process at the airport the private transfer was smooth. We were welcomed at the hotel after 10pm by friendly, helpful staff. We were taken to our room by golf buggy by Haytham who was very helpful and drove us back to the main building so we could get something to eat and get our bearings. The Resort is split over two sites on opposite sides of the road. Location seemed to be fairly quiet with other hotels around. A few local shops along main road but mainly selling souvenirs, T-shirts and soft drinks. We were located on the site with rooms arranged in villa buildings surrounded by beautifully kept grounds (thanks to gardener Mohamed and his colleagues). This site is only a short walk to the main building with the buffet restaurant and bar. Italian, and Sushi restaurant in main building. Lebanese, Seafood and Burger restaurants sited near beach. Villa area is quieter and has a small pool area with some umbrellas and sunbeds which could do with updating. A larger pool and more for kids to do is on main resort site which goes down to the beach. Our room was a good size and had everything we wanted. Comfortable double bed and additional single bed. Shower room; water pressure not great but adequate. Basic toiletries provided. Storage space adequate. Iron and ironing board stored in wardrobe. Safe in wardrobe. Hairdryer. Tea, Nescafe and drinking water topped up daily. Laundry service if required. Mini fridge in room. A/C not very effective. Room housekeeping staff very helpful and towel arrangments a lovely touch. Everywhere was kept very clean. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs and coffee table, and small drying rack attached to the wall for wet clothes. WiFi not available in rooms in villas and poor strength even in main building which can be frustrating. No lift available in our villa building so rooms on first floor would be inaccessible to anyone with mobility issues. We had an all inclusive package which was great as we didn't see any local restaurants around. Restaurant table staff (as opposed to serving staff) were very friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. Buffet was nice but becomes rather repetitive after a while. Selection of meat and vegetable dishes and salads available. Fruits and cakes always present. Illogical wine rules; can be ordered by the glass with meals as part of the all inclusive package but if you order wine at the bar downstairs you have to pay. Staff here are exceptional and very hard working. Bar staff member, Amr, deserves a special mention and was a great example of front of house staff dealing efficiently with guests of different nationalities with kindness and good humour. Some evening entertainment was available mainly in the bar area but seating area limited and not adequate for the number of guests. Book shelf available on first floor where you can take and leave read books. Small pharmacy available on site and another on main road outside front of resort. Late checkout available for $10 an hour. Overall a great stay and fine if you just want to relax in the sun. Extra points: Excursion of city tour booked with Sun International was a waste of money and time. Be prepared for mosquitoes.
All the staff are helpful and courteous. In the dining room, special mentions for Islam and the Egg man in the mornings. They looked after us very well. In the main Reception bar, some of the star characters were Amir, Samara from Africa and Mohammed Sala. And round the pool, Gilbert kept it clean and tidy making sure the towels were ready every day. The Hotel was very clean and well kept, if a little tired in places. The food was very nice, good selection and always looked fresh and tempting. The cakes were delicious. We had an unfortunate incident with our bathroom sink, but Reception arranged for an engineer to come out to sort it within 10 minutes of making the call. Well done. My only complaint is that half way through our holiday, the supplier of drinks changed and the Gin and Vodka was intolerable after that. We did report it to management more than once. Also, the air condiitoners did not work in any of the rooms in the blocks in Line 2, fixed at 26 degrees. I do hope they are fixed soon and cleaned. We found we were not harrassed by sales staff.
