Really poor hotel in desperate need for a makeover and general rethink. The rooms were only cleaned once in 2 weeks. The bathroom flooded every day, real ant problem not just one or two hordes and hordes of them. The pools aren’t clean, you can feel on the floors around the pool that they are “slimy” to touch. The whole area of origo mare feels like a building site with unfinished groundwork’s everywhere. Entertainment wise the staff are great and try their best with what you can see as zero money.. one of the entertainment around the pool being throw the tennis ball into a cut in half bottle… entertainment loops and feels the same every night. There’s not enough room for even a 1/4 of the resort for entertainment with kids having to do mini disco on the stage. The roads around are all crumbling and are a trip hazard. I get it’s on the cheaper scale but it is desperately poor throughout.
Second time returning here and maybe going back next march. That's how much we love this place. The villas are home from home, and diffenly recommend a car as it's in the middle of nowhere, there is a free bus service laid on to go into town. We had a car for the week we travelled the whole island it was fantastic and beautiful. They take a 200 euro deposit on arrival, which gets refunded a day or two after your holiday. Staff are so friendly and helpful.
Stayed here for 5 days at the end of August. I would definitely recommend hiring a car as there is nothing around. I do believe there was a shuttle bus though. Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which was spacious, clean and well equipped. Had great outside space with a table & chairs and loungers. It is a large complex but walkable. Some of the pavements might be tricky for wheelchairs or prams. We were all inclusive and found the food was lovely with a great selection always available. I found it clean and watched them constantly refreshing the dishes.
We cannot rate this “resort” highly enough. Yes, we did have some issues, I won’t go into detail on the issues - but they were put right quickly and surprisingly we were compensated - which we didn’t ask for or expect - thank you to the wonderful Reception Team. We stayed in a two bedroom villa self catering, it had everything and more you’d expect including free aircon which is somewhat unheard of these days. Two bathrooms, living space, fully loaded kitchen and seating outside. The cleaner came in the first 3 days, gave the place a spruce up and emptied the bins. On the fourth day housekeeping gave the place a good clean, changed the beds and towels. However, they didn’t come in for the last 3 days and the bins were full! I asked the brilliant Reception Team and they advised to place all bin bags on the street and they’ll get picked up - and they did, within 5 minutes of putting them out. Wifi is in each individual villa and is good, I took a fire stick and watched UK TV with no problems when we had some downtime. You definitely need a car, we had a great Jeep that got us around the island brilliantly! Some beaches are “off road” so having a Jeep was a blessing. We did use the main restaurant, it’s €22 per person for dinner and it’s all you can eat buffet with some live cooking experiences, it also includes help yourself drinks (beer, wine and softs) we thought it was good value. We also used the Italian, which is themed American rather than Italian. Food was very good & reasonable priced for a in resort ala carte. So on to the shop: YES, it’s very overpriced. On arrival we went in for some simple essentials, bread, milk, simple cheeses and hams for breakfast, cost Beart €50. We did a big shop down the road the next days and it cost so much less. I do feel for the people who don’t have a car. There are busses each day to take you to out to the towns and coasts. But only 2 a day and not on a loop. Return times are either too long or too short. We did use the bus once because we left the car in town. Entertainment is okay, it’s the standard you’d expect but all team members very engaging and not pushy. We did think having a Mr Strong / Handsome pageant a little dated for 2024. We popped our head into the water park, seemed okay for kids 12 and under, the older kids would want more extreme slides. Overall we had a great stay even with the issues we experienced & would like to congratulate the resort on having an amazing team. From Villa 304.
We visited as a group of 8 . Both sets of inlaws, my son and his partner and their children. A studio for myself and mrs, a 1 bed delux for the other inlaws, and a 1 bed for my son and his family. I can’t speak for the others but our studio was large and airy with a lovely bathroom small kitchen and patio doors front and back with a decent front garden with table and chairs, perfect for the 2 of us. The cleaner came for the first 3 days and then we didn’t see her again, but of a letdown as the beds were supposed to be changed on the 4th day, same happened with my son. Apart from the issue with the cleaner I found all the staff to be brilliant, hard working and very people based . A special shoutout to the lifeguards who we very on the ball at all times. We were self catering but did use the restaurant for an evening meal and it was ok . We also had a meal in Mavericks and the food was lovely. The pools are cold but once you are in they are fine and both of the grandkids loved the water park If you want to explore then you really need to hire a car as the resort is quite remote although if you hire a bike onsite there are some amazing little beaches nearby Yes some of the resort is looking a bit tired and some paint and repairs in the close season wouldn’t go amiss but I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely think about coming again
